I got these with Cherry MX Blues and I've been happy with them. Really, it's all down to personal preference. I can see how some people would like MX Reds since you can get away with feathering them but I like the clicky clacky noise of blues. Best thing I did was to go to Fry's and test out the switches.

Red switches are just a lighter version of the black switch. If you want the faster keystrokes go with the reds but if you want the more deliberate keystrokes go with the blacks.

I play on brown switches which is like the center of the venn diagram between all of the switches.
