Dota is the best. Solo with a group of 4. I go warlock, they go furion, ta, luna...minute later the last guy picks ns. Who decides to lane with me and luna.

I leave and just do long lane solo. NS continues to feed.

So that scythe of Ice legendary item for furion - basically 0.5% chance of crafting it with the steam globes thing? Is it a regular drop in normal matches, even?

Completely disagree. The mount is much improved over novvvvvvva.

If only valve would let sound files to be edited from nova to avon (iseewatudidtharanuxi).
 
Just watched Dendi play Legion Commander in a pub by happenstance. He played mid against a Meepo. His item build, beyond Power Treads, didn't focus on attack speed much early, he went for gank and right click. Power Treads > Shadow Blade > Desolator > Crystalis > Deadelus > Assault Cuirass and a 55 min BKB.

I've been going Treads > Armlet > naked Hyperstone > branching to AC or Mjolnir (mostly AC) and letting the ult take care of the damage. But he had a Divine Rapier's worth of damage between his ult, the Deso and I think just a Crystalis.

He skilled Moment of Courage first or second, which was weird, but by six he had 3 in Overwhelming Odds, 1 in Press the Attack, 1 in Moment and Duel. Seems like it's the standard laning build for LC. He's got the Arcana and has won over 170 duels so far.

Shadow Blade's 30 attack speed. Also, Press the Attack is ownage for attack speed. Getting treads armlet hyperstone is way overkill with PtA

Interesting. Turning on Armlet before a duel is sick good, but I like the Shadow Blade choice over Blink Dagger. Helps initiating just as well but fits much better with her needs stat-wise.

She gets mobility from her Q.

That's more or less the same build I use. Treads, SB, AC Deso and BKB in whatever order I deem best for the situation. My record with LC is pretty good ATM in ranked solo, something like 13 wins 5 losses

Skill build is 1-3-1-2-3-6, then depending on circumstances I'll max either Odds or Courage first, with 1 pt. in heal until everything else is done.

Bit late but if these stats are accurate or at least comparable for ranked MMR then you're around the 90th percentile. Hard to make sense of that though considering that takes into account all those people who only play a handful of games, people still learning, etc. but it certainly sounds nice. I need to finish solo MMR, I don't queue that often solo but I tend to not play as seriously with my mates so I'm kinda curious how it compares for myself.
 
My gut says those stats are likely not that relevant for ranked, since I'm sure people who only played like 5 games fill out a huge portion of the lower tier. Maybe valve will put out a separate distribution for players who played rank in a few months.

For those that played DotA and Dota 2; which do you think are the most iconic heroes from each?

I honestly don't think the two share many apart from Pudge and Invoker.

My last ranked game was so dumb. Pudge and Skywrath fighting for mid, both sitting there for a solid 5 minuets, lycan in the jungle dying to the enemy trilane top, me solo top against a trilane and stuck at level 1 for 5 minutes as lich, (Got frost blast level 1 to try and help skywrath get first blood, he died), and Kunkka solo bottom.

We were 0-5 at 5 minutes in, down a tower, lycan had no farm due to getting killed twice, our mids were low on money and XP due to nether wanting to leave. Our only saving grace at the time was Kunnka's solo hard lane was basically uncontested, getting decent farm and levels. But overall things looked grim.

But Lycan moved to the enemy jungle, I gave up on top since I couldn't get in XP range and just went bottom (And then me and kunnka left bottom when the trilane rotated and went back top), Pudge conceded mid and farmed top since there was no tower then, and after 15 minutes, we actually had some momentum behind us. Lycan was split pushing on his own effectively, the rest just did a 4 man death ball on the enemy, and after 33 minutes won the game. I think the biggest thing that helped was the enemy Mirana simply never used her ult. In the entire game, I think it was used twice.

I love the Tidehunter redesign, I was just admiring NP's design today as well. Never really played much DotA maybe a handful of games but I remember Juggernaut and AM sticking in my mind but I think that's because they were the ones getting all the flashy kills in the games I played... still as soon as the banner was available for Jugg I made it a priority to get :P
