A million more than last year due to the people leveling their compendium through purchases.

Valve is making a killing on this compendium, like always. Kinda wish they give 33% or 40% to the prize pool instead. I know last year was 25% but it's always nice to support the professional players consider many of them was supporting the competitive scene before having any respectable wages/sponsors.

I would like to see Dota 2 versions of popular twitch emotes like Riki doing Kappa and for them to be available for muted people on the chat wheel. I'm sure they would use them fair and reasonably.

But Compedium sounds pretty great, so I'll buy that and play my heroes and get some points. International is always hype.

I don't think you need the compendium to make it more fun.

But yes, it's hype. Biggest dota event of the year, just try to catch the matches and see if you really like it.

Last years international was the first time that i actually watched others play competitive, i played league of legends for months but i never watched a single match (well i watched guides and a few clips here and there but not streams etc).
But i watched the whole final of the international and a few parts of the other matches, it was really fun, i was surprised because tbh i dont really like esports.
So this year i want to watch it more closely, thats why i think compendium will make it more fun
