I am 15 hours in and level 28 strider, when should i change vocation to Assassin?

There's not really a level that you should change vocations, you can switch when you feel like it.

That being said, I would recommend maxing Strider for his last augment.

Just got my game!
Can't decide if I should rent a lv200 pawn and power through
Or experience a pristine new journey

Just snagged this for half off with some gamestop rewards. Can't wait to jump back in later today.

I'll be renting some Gafpawns for sure

So... how does item share work? Say, if someone's pawn collect some items and I don't remove them form their inventory, do I get those items or the pawn's owner get them?

Believe you keep it. The only things hired pawns keep is items you personally equip on them and any gift you might give upon releasing the pawn.

Make sure to check your pawns inclinations after awhile. Somehow my healer went from Utilitarian/Medicant to only Scather. Kind of annoying to have keep watch on this all the time.

Do you mean the Leg-Strength augment? I got it today unless there is something else

Story, characters, voice acting, graphics and areas diversity are so bad but somehow the game is amazing to play and i cannot put it down.

I just wish that the text is a bit bigger. It's a pain to read.

Anyway, finally reached Gran Soren. Maybe I'll finally learn how to DD properly.

Eh, after 600 hours and 5 play-through's on 360, I don't think I have it in me for another.

Anyone trying his out for the first time: Have fun. DD:DA was one of my favorite games last generation.

The original seemed to be a bit grindy.

Is this any different? It looks interesting.

About 12 hours in and so far this game is very hit or miss for me. Maybe I'm playing the game wrong but there's been many frustrating/tedious parts. Fast travel is more complicated than it should be, combat is pretty much button mashing (playing as Assassin) on dagger-sponge enemies, quest design is iffy too.

I wasted a lot of time fighting those tentacles in the Everfall before realizing you actually have to avoid them. Then when I died down there I used the Wakestone you get for the smithy's son sidequest on myself. Now I can't complete that quest unless I buy 3 shards for 15,000 each and I'm thinking of just saying fuck it.

So far the only redeeming factor has been the "going on a journey with your team" feeling to be honest.

I can't remember something about the bandit quests
can I finish one or completing for example male bandits quest prevents me doing the female one?

Yep, that one.

Go to the inn and look in your stash. Sell that stuff. Now you gots coin!

EDIT: Some of it, not all of it. Your eternal ferrystone and some other useful items are in there.

Nah some people don't like it but at times you miss important chatter. I've learned just to get used.

In that instance, I eventually just ran for it while going back to aid my main pawn (I shouldn't have named her after my wife). Then when I got out, everyone was safe and sound.

I've had the eternal ferrystone the entire time? Thank God. I was running back and forth buying regular ferrystones.. Yeah I'm gonna have to get less conservative with the stuff I save. I haven't figured out the crafting stuff yet so I figured I'd try to keep the combinable stuff for later.

They'll say that sort of thing for other tough enemies too like Ogres but I eventually can kill them. But the tentacle situation was literally unbeatable.. which I learned the hard way by spending probably half an hour mashing every tentacle that popped up. Oh well.

Yep, you've had it. Plus about 300,000 bucks in outfits, accessories, etc.

When played the original I noticed before my pawn said because it didn't have a health bar, which was weird itself.

After my re-start the game has clicked so much better. Leveling up strider and getting augments. Trying to get some mage/sorcerer gear ATM

Any suggestions for some mage gear I can get early?

So... what happened when you are on an escort mission, and your client got killed? The mission seems to keep going, there is no mission failed screen.

Edit: Never mind. Took a while. Can I redo the mission?

No retries.

A cheating way to do those is go to the area, put down a portstone (or is it portcrystal?) then ferrystone to the questboard, start escort and ferrystone back to the portstone.

At one point you get like 4 escort missions at once to bloodwater beach, abuse the portstone!

I think if you sleep at an inn like 6-8 days
The person that died will be revived and you can redo it.

Unfortunately not, Notice Board escort quests are a one-time opportunity. But as with everything, there's another chance in NG+. So unless you wanted to raise affinity with that NPC, you can try another escort quest if you're keen on completing one. For low level characters/new players escorts to the Shadow Fort or Greatwall may be (too) challenging.

EDIT: just 'tested', took escort quest for Adaro, threw him into a big deep hole, slept 10 days. Same quest didn't reappear, another one did instead, for (my Beloved) Fournival. Could still be that it might eventually cycle through all possible escort quests, but I didn't care to test that.

Also, I see you found the correct Inn-keeper, I could have added that it was the one in Gran Soren. =|

Is PS+ required to use other player's pawns or upload your own?
No, it's not.

Hmm, really thinking of switching to Magic archer. I'm lvl 15 Strider. It's probably bad planning but screw min/maxing, i'm playing what's fun.
Good choice. This is exactly how the game should be played!

So, if I stick to only using the AI Pawns beside my own, is there any point in replacing their equipment?
Any reason you would want to use an AI pawn in preference to an online one?

To answer your question though, putting better equipment on them can make them stronger, but of course you could just hire a higher level GAF pawn instead. If you really like the look of a pawn though, then better gear might help to keep them alive in tougher areas, and help them be more effective.

Or maybe you just want them to look better :)

Game is fucking amazing. idk what the best Strider skills are right now (I'm level 15 or so). I like the tripwire and knockdown shot. Can't find much use for cloudburst.

Try out Splinter/Fracture Dart. Some people hate it, but it's one of the skills that sold me on the game early.

M5Ypt4U.gif

It's an arrow shot but you can't really aim it... it has a fixed arc. If you just press the fire button, or if you hit the target, it does less damage. But if you hold the fire button, then when you let go it detonates and does great damage. So you have to try to detonate it in the split second where it is close, but not touching, your target.

Some other not totally clear mechanics:

- If you use Strider's Skull Splitter while running it can take you over a cliff edge while spinning and negate fall damage
- Some of the spells (Ingle, Miasma, self targeting weapon enchants...) can be switched between auto and manual aim, and/or can lock on to a target, by pressing the analog sticks.
- Full Moon Slash and Exodus Slash have invincibility frames

Kinda overwhelmed right now, so many quests at once to places I have no idea of.

Another question, if you store food at the inn, do they go bad?

Feels really good to be back in Gransys. Performance on the pro is a smooth 30 fps so far except for quest checkpoints.

Are there any Pro enhancements? And any word on if it’ll be enhanced for the X?

Bump in resolution and the frame rate is super stable, it's kinda weird how smooth it is considering its 30 FPS.

Bitter black isle is really beautiful and dark while the main open world draw distance has been improved.

I doubt the X1 will get any patches or updates , if it does it might be the same as pro.

Can I start the game on hard mode right away or I'll get destroyed ?

Hard mode isn't as fun since the gimp you strength /stamina , so it adds frustration if it's your first run, it's honestly dedicated more towards your new game + run.

You can try, but it'll be an arduous struggle until the double XP really kicks in and you get ahead of the curve.

Fortunately, enemies on hard mode don't get any bonus HP or defense, so it's just a matter of *never getting hit* for at least the first twenty levels. But until you get high enough, you'll probably be dying left and right.

Whew! Really enjoying myself but some parts are not clear to me, would appreciate any advice!

1. Is there any way to see how high enemy levels are before you engage them? I like exploring, but it's crummy to wander off track then get completely wrecked haha

2. Is it possible to kite enemies, like, try to draw them off one by one so that the whole group doesn't engage? I try to approach from far, then retreat while spamming for my pawns to follow me back, but it doesn't seem to work well...

Thanks for advice!

Finally opened the game. Like always, Amazon delivered it to me with a loose disc.

I heard there were some server issues or something yesterday or the day before. Is it fixed?

People always say 'play Sorcerer from 10 to 100 for Magick Archer' but personally I always disagree with that kind of approach. Sure your magic attack will be high but your stamina, defense, hp, and physical attack will be terribly awful (and yes, Magic Archer do need physical attack IMO, and skills like Immolation also physical based.)

You are playing the game correctly.

Not to mention, the whole point of playing magick archer is to... play a magick archer. Playing most of the game as something else so that now your stats are great to do... do what, now that you beat the game and did everything?

Completely stupid way to play.
