This trailer is like those comedy movie trailers where they put all good jokes into the trailer and nothing is left for actual movie, it looks like they took every scene from the game that didnt look terrible and put them into short trailer, anything thats left didnt make the cut to be presentable enough coz it was too offputing =D

Game looks good. I don't give a shit about color of skin of any of that pointless crap. I'll judge it by the gameplay and experience. Wish more people looked at it that way, but I guess that's the downside of free will.

better, mods?

How about better argument ?
Pretty sure no one here mentioned skin color. I could be wrong but I don't see it.

Now promoting self mutilation to kids as some form of accomplishment is a REAL thing that is happening with this game and should be criticized.

Why the fuck didn't they lead with that trailer? Every trailer up to this point has looked like fucking shit, and now they actually have a decent trailer that doesn't make the game look like trash?

It seems like BioWare got a talking to from the bosses upstairs.
Hide all the unappealing stuff and ship the game out.
The previous trailers and gameplay are a stark contrast to the muted colours of this recent showing.
I’m curious to see what the final product looks like.

“Hey guys, it turns out that the Dragon Age fanbase didn’t like our God of War combat + gay Fortnite aesthetic + Guardians of the Galaxy dialog. I know that sounded like a sure fire hit back in 2017 but people are kinda sick of that shit. Do everything you can to fool the audience into thinking it’s dark and violent like DA:O otherwise our preorders will be nonexistent”

The idea of how many dozens of these wokeslop licenses to burn money are still left in the pipeline after being conceived in the 2016 golden age of griftylocks and the three gaming journalism sites which are just waiting to crater seven different studios with their release just....makes me feel ALIVE.

It'll be what you saw in gameplay trailers. Which was super colourful art and some cheesy dialogue. Dont fall for trailers. It's like TV ads showing superhero or Star Wars films. Wow, this looks more down to earth and gritty than I thought..... then you watch the movie and there's tons of comedy bits and clowny aliens which the ads gave zero vibe.

In marketing, most advertising matches the product. But when it comes to movies and games, there's often a mismatch in messaging. Bullshots is one way. But another way is to market the game/movie totally different than the final product. So to maximize sales, they'll promote the product very differently than what the actual product is because they know if they match it it'll tank. Not a good sign.

I dunno, guys. With the ND brand of deceptive marketing implied by the trailers which basically depict the game in different genres (Shrek vs. Dark High Fantasy) tells me all I need to know. The outrage isn't about post op scars (I mean it is, because it's fucking dumb, but...) it's about what they imply.

It's a symptom of a greater malady. If they stick pronouns and modern day identity politics brands, I mean scars into something as (player touted) inconsequential as the start up character creator....what the fuck do you think the content of the game proper will be like?

I'm guessing production line safe, boring, and sitting on the throne of modern dayisms. Where women are bosses, are also men, people get murdered, betrayed, and tormented even after death but the greatest evil will be misgendering. There will be an epic world ending scenario that affects every living creature on the planet, but it will probably be sidelined by endless chaff narratives about the deep and complex inner workings of the main parties' relationships and minds. (We'll bang, okay?" Women and people of color will committ all the most violent and notable acts, but will be airtight against the threats of death, violence upon them, because that's gross and not it.

When I get a sandwich and I notice a spot of mold on the bread crust, I don't tear it off and say "ah, the crust is useless, the rest of the sandwich should be fucking ace,"

No. I throw that sandwich in the trash.

Fucking mold.

Unrelated to the rest of your post, the type of logic in this part of your post sounds like the perfect type of reviewer who would end up giving Godhand a 3.0 out of 10 score.

There's probably a bit of truth there. I certainly judge certain books on their cover. I do try to give things a fair shake, but it seems like certain pieces of media are trying to lure me in by preying on my need to have an open mind. Like I get pulled in, and then every single piece of the media proceeds to piss me off for the next however many hours.

I'm aware of personal bias, and I'm aware that I have it. Not at the recovery stage though, hahaha

Reviews in 3 days, right? Gameplay looks fun, but with all the controversies, I'm a little skeptical. I'm only halfway through Metaphor and DQ3 Remake is right around the corner too so yeah, it's a wait and see for me. It's Pro enhanced I believe so, if it ends up being well received, I'll probably buy it when I eventually get a Pro.

So they weeded out the critical influencers and sent the more positive influencers review copies. Yeah this is gonna be another Mass Effect Andromeda and/or Anthem

Luke Stephens had a pretty glowing preview video after the event and he didn’t get a code neither, which is weird.

So I don’t know, maybe they’re giving priority to the sites that matter on Metacritic or something.

I know people like to stick current day buzzwords to everything they can, but this method of giving review codes only to people who would only give positive reviews has existed for years.
Literally this. Youve always been discouraged from leaving LEGIT opinions about the game

Thats not what is happening lmao. People have been critical of past games and have received review keys and people have been positive and havent. You people are obsessed with wanting this game to fail.

Also literally the same person

Just watched the trailer and it looks absolutely sick. Saw Solas's goofy ass there at the end, can't wait to slap his bald head.

Qunari appearances are kind of on a bell curve though, huh? Sten, who just kinda looked like a gray guy, the Arishok, Bull, and now Trailer Guy- we went from a gray strongman to a full-on ogre, to a sexy bodybuilder to... well, there's no saying a Qunari can't be the kind of guy who gets passed around the friend group like a blunt.

I'm nuts about DA, and definitely want to see more gameplay first before I decided to snap it up or wait for a sale- but if the action is punchy enough to keep up with the visuals in the trailer, I think I'll enjoy it.

Yeah there were a couple of complaints about the trailers not featuring white males, that's what triggered my white men are pu$$ies rant, the mention of which may get this reply edited again :)

the preemptive damage control at the beginning of the thread was super cringey. crying "muh anti woke" is just as bad as the ones invading a thread just to spam woke.

Anyways, this is probably one of the only DEI infested games that I partially care about. Looks like a solid 7.5 and will probably get it eventually. Just still salty that they deviated in DA2 away from the CRPG way of DAO. yeah this game is mostly ugly with some nice moments. The combat looks wonky. Story and characters seem uninteresting. Yet despite all this. A part of me deep down inside wants something from Bioware despite knowing that the bioware I loved isn't the bioware that remains.

I still remember that time in Dragon Age Origins when I stripped Sten of his sword and armor at the end of the game because he tried to kill me.

God, what a jackass. I should have left him in that cage.
