Yes, it sucks. But it's not random. Basically, the game REALLY wants Maribel in slot 2. So I just got used to having her there. (._. ) It actually works out fine, because slot 2 is the safest spot in the group for mage characters, and that's what I have her as.
It's like FF5. Outfits change based on class and weapon changes based on what's equipped.
I'm glad, personally, because I got really tired of looking ridiculous in DQ9 because of the visible armor mismatching.
Do the outfit switches apply to all characters, or just the hero and Maribel?
300later and still no 2nd 鉄の斧... I seriously should quit this. Its gotten so bad that Im strong enough so that everything in the area is starting to run away from me lolからくり兵
Uhhh...
5's major narrative focus is the generations. You follow the hero from the moment he is born through his life as he grows up.
There seems to be quite a lot of misinformation about this remake floating around on the internet. I'm really surprised. Once it got out that the intro dungeon was removed, there's people saying that all kinds of other areas were taken out, puzzles removed, difficulty dumbed down, etc. There's also misinformation about the class system out there, where people claim that no skills transfer over period, and that monster classes are completely useless, etc.
I don't know why people are latching onto this stuff or where they're even getting it from.
I remember the original very well. It's a very faithful remake. There are some changes, but most of them are pretty small.
Nope, English speaking folk, many of whom haven't even played the game and are just reading things.

I responded to a post on Dragon's Den where a guy was insistent that no skills carry over between class changes at all, and apparently that one can be attributed to Siliconera. Sigh.I think there are some captures going around, people seem to be jumping in medias res and get confused about what's going on. I also think a few people seem to have the idea that the type of changes at the beginning recur throughout the whole game. Time'll sort 'em out.

And I am so happy about it! I still don't get how getting a puff-puff from a girl at the casino is supposed to increase your slot machine odds (and it may just be placebo, but it's a commonly-held belief).
Nice. Are the casino prices any different this time? Cuz I know you could get the Falcon sword (I think) and now that is a preorder bonus, I'm wondering if they took that out and replaced it with something new etcPersonal update: I've finished the Coastal scenario. Coastal looks pretty cool in the remake, although I guess not dramatically different. Just fancier. I've got 52 hours clocked right now, just spent a little while at the casino.

At any rate, if nobody's playing anymore, though, I guess I'll just post again whenever I beat it. :\

Prices are all the same. The falcon sword at the Coastal casino was renamed to gale sword, but it has the same stats and behavior as it did in the original. The DLC falcon sword is much weaker - lower stats, and only occasionally hits twice. The gale sword still hits twice every time.Nice. Are the casino prices any different this time? I just reached what would normally be the disc swap point. The whole sequence leading up to that battle, and the way it plays out still gives me goosebumps. And it's really handled so very well in this version. Current time is 55 hours. I spent 2 or so trying to win another big win at the casino, but no avail. (._. ) I don't really need any more coins than I have, regardless, though.
You mean dialogue text? Because you've been able to increase battle texts forever ago.
There isn't anything announced.I can't scan the thread for the answer as I never finished DQ7 on PS1 so I don't want to be spoiled (for what little story there is), but what's the status of North American release?
If a mod can edit the post in the OP to say the NA status (if it's none, that would be great too)
