Completely agree. The big epic battles are fun, but half the time I don’t know what’s going on. You can’t control your pawns, so there’s not much strategy behind these fights. I’ve killed Cyclopses, Minotaurs, Ogres, Chimeras, Lich, a Dragon, and a Hippogriff. All I did was whack at them, occasionally climb on them and whack them some more. When they get staggered, I don’t know how it happened, whether it was something I did, or if one of my pawns that I can’t control did something. There’s no challenge to these fights. There’s no “Oh man that’s a Chimera? I better unlock my skills and get better gear before I take on this challenge!” The sense of power progression just isn’t good.
Does it make achievements not attainable?I didn't want to, but I ended up installing a no item weight mod I found on NexusMods. No regrets.

Cuz if it doesn’t I’ll be using that mod later tonight. Ain’t no damn way I’m hunting scarabs and running back to town every 10 minutes .
I'm about level 19 now. I really appreciate the quest structure so far. You get small tasks, large tasks, and everything in between and they smartly have quest givers find you when completing quests so there is always a lot to do. I also like how organic it can feel. There is a mission to find a missing child, which also bleeds into the main quest, and as you are asking children around the area, one of the children spawns a different quest line. The major negative I see so far is the mob density in the open world, how quickly the respawn and how it seems the same monsters always spawn at the same locations which goes for both the trash and epic mobs. It feels like I've killed 8 billion goblins, wolves and harpies by now and you encounter them every few paces when adventuring. More games need to let their open world breath.
I actually prefer the music in 2 - more ambient, subtle, perfect for my style (obviously hugely subjective, but I love it!).Really enjoying the game. Don't want to stop playing but I gotta say some stuff.
2 caveats though.
DD1 music is superior to DD2 music. Switch to DD1 music asap. DD2 Imminent Triumph is so tame in comparison. Almost too quiet IMO. Lacks that OOMPH.
Also for Mages and Sorcerers they really gutted the fuck out of our spell list. These spells were deleted/pruned. Some spells like Comestion and Bolide were replaced by Salamander and Meteron respectively.
Blearing
Brontide(Lightning Whip)
Dark/Holy : Affinity/Boon
Frazil
Exequy
Fulmination
Ingle
Lassitude
Miasma
Necromancy
Petrifaction
Silentium
Voidspell
Magic Billow
Magic Agent
Grapnel
Perdition
Sopor
Spellscreen
Also worth noting that Elemental affinities no longer have different attacks. Just elemental property. So RIP Dark or Holy Focused Bolt. My personal big offender is no Miasma or way to build around Poison, Petrify, Slows, Torpor.
Pretty upsetting on how they streamlined magic in this game. Mega oof. No Dark Magic available to use in the game at all.
Just installed REFramework and it's a game changer because you can modify the FOV! So, SO much better. I really encourage those playing on PC to give it a try:
REFramework
Modding tool/framework with a powerful scripting API using Lua. Comes with FreeCam, Timescale, FOV, VR, and tools for script/mod developerswww.nexusmods.com
Also free camera is cool to take screenshots (Imgur is compressing quite a lot but whatever, you get the idea ^^)
I found one and I have no idea where. Have been exploring like crazy. Is there any way to find out?Make sure you guys remember where you found your first seeker token. Put a marker down on the map. This is legit PSA material. There's 250 of them so it's easy to forget the first, but its crucial that you remember
Try to get the skills you want before deciding on main. For example, thief has a last augment that augments strength. I am just levelling up random classes for their skills. Mystic Spearhand sucks ass, archer is the best. Thief and Archer have a lot of good augments that you have to unlock.Unlocked Mystic Spearhand. It's good but I already miss thief. The health/stamina is much better here but I miss the speed and moveset. Esp. Skull splitter.
Will unlock more Spearhand skills before deciding which vocation will be main though.
Where are all the cool armor/weapons loot at? Rarely ever get anything meaningful from chests.
Spent 2 hours here trying to figure out the same. There's no way from here afaik. I had to go back to vernworth and then took and ox cart from the northern gate. That takes you to Melve.I think I've just fucked myself here, I need to get to Merle but because I took the Oxcart ride away it didn't fill in the map, I ended up going what I thought was the way
But now I can't actually get to the town from where I am, so I either have to backtrack through fucking Lizardmen town and hope I can get back there or try and somehow get to Merle from where I am
On the plus side, I took out a big Troll with 3 life bars, hell of a fight though
Yeah I think I will check out the all skills for Spearhand and see if I like anything. I liked the idea of it so I wanted to main it but rn it feels like a step back from Thief.Try to get the skills you want before deciding on main. ER has a bad camera and bosses have really dumb hitboxes and hit collisions leading to artificial difficulty plus it is really I guess "stiff" in it's methodical combat that usually leads to hit the enemy from behind. Not sure what fights people are doing to say ER is way harder than this, I only died like 20 times all up in ER, have conked it a few times already in this and love every second - have been wandering where I probably shouldn't though lol

Yep, I managed to get back in about 30 mins, stopping for the random quests and fights along the way, not all bad though I picked up a bunch of Onyx to sell and levelled up a bit, ran past 2 Cyclops though, fuck fighting them yetSpent 2 hours here trying to figure out the same. Took me longer because I went from Vernworth to another city "checkpoint" something. Then I thought it would be easier to go north from there. Then when I went up and looked for a way wasted time there. Eventually I realized there's probably no way from here to Melve. So then I went back to vernworth on foot and from there it was easy via ox cart.Yep, I managed to get back in about 30 mins, stopping for the random quests and fights along the way, not all bad though I picked up a bunch of Onyx to sell and levelled up a bit, ran past 2 Cyclops though, fuck fighting them yet
Off to Merle again finally, all tanked up and have 3 pawns of different vocations as well, though the thief one seems a little underpowered so far
That’s me to the developers because my expectations were good combat and good-looking places for adventuring and thus far it delivers. Everything else well done in this game to me is a bonus. Even the performance rarely impacts my enjoyment (I’m on PS5).made a little gif for high fiving:

I think everyone needs to watch this video about the Dragonsplague disease that the Pawns are always talking about.
Vendors do get replaced if it happens, but apparently everyone else genuinely dies unless you revive them, super crazy mechanic.
Yeah I know but it's still way too smallYou can already tweak it some, I guess this makes it to where you can zoom even further? I am afraid of mods like this when Capcom are still busy releasing patches. Afraid it will fuck something up when the patches hit if this is installed.
Haha I found that drake. Noped out of there with righteous determination. So, how are you approaching the game? Are you going just for the quests? Exploring on your own? I was doing all the quests in Vernworth and was getting kinda bored, they are interesting but also more about story telling rather than fighting. So I fucked off and went exploring on my own, found a drake and got bolide'd to death. Fun times.
The thing is that the pawn system brings most of the unique gameplay. This is like telling people to not pick up any power ups in a Mario game. You also have the choice of whether or not to use pawns. Using up all three slots is, of course, going to equate to easy mode.

I think there is a sort of fake ending or something like that, since some people have claimed to finish the game without unlocking the post game.Huh just like that I finished the main story in like 20 hours at lvl 30. Is that it? Very underwhelming.
No not really I did most of the side quests. The problem isn't the post game stuff, the main quest is stupid and rushed. I looked around and it seems that's it basically.I think there is a sort of fake ending or something like that, since some people have claimed to finish the game without unlocking the post game.
Were you rushing the main quest or something?
