DS Appreciation Thread

$3.95 for a replacement top screen from store.nintendo.com if you live in N. America. Includes the tool to remove the old screen.

Wtf serious? Some nintendo.com lady at PAX told me it'd be like 50 bux to get it repaired. Ha, definitely doing it myself.

Edit: *Sigh* Knew it was too good to be true, my actual screen is messed up, you can only buy screen covers from store.nintendo.com.

Speaking of screens, i bought a used ds today and it had a scratch on the touch screen. can i use something like brasso (i use it to take scratches out of my ipod) on it? or would i have to worry about destroying the screen?

I usually buy maybe 1 or 2 games a year for a handheld system. This is crazy.

You're not alone. The DS is my most played handheld since the original Game Boy. I was just thinking about that earlier today while AWDS was consuming my life.

The DS has gotten me excited about gaming again.

Currently own:

Advance Wars Dual Strike
Kirby Canvas Curse
Meteos
Nintendogs
Polarium
Puyo Pop Fever
Super Mario 64 DS
Yoshi Touch 'N Go
Zoo Keeper

In the mail:

Ossu! Takae! Ouendan! (first import ever)

Plan to buy/extremely interested in:

Animal Crossing
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Electroplankton
Lost in Blue
Mario Kart DS
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney
Sonic Rush
Super Mario Bros DS
Trace Memory
Trauma Center: Under The Knife
Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble

Man, just a year ago I thought the DS was going to be a joke, particularly next to the PSP. Now I can't even wait for the Revolution. :lol

Games I currently own:
Mario 64 DS - I love it, but I'm sorry but the controls absolutely SUCK. Other than that, my favorite game ever is still as great as ever and the mini-games rock.
Feel the Magic: I like it, feels really shallow. I think the sequel will be good though.
Mr Driller Drill Spirits - Folks might laugh, but I really do like this game. At one point I played this more than Mario... hehehe. It's really fun, tbh.
Wario Ware Touched!: Great stuff, but keep in mind this is the only WW I've played. Had a blast though, but folks have been telling me to try the other WW games... and I will.
Yoshi Touch N' Go: I fell in love with this game the moment Baby Mario fell through the sky. Underrated game, but I also hate it. WTF could'nt it be a full fledged adventure? There is just so many intersting ideas in this game... but NOOOO! Ugh, fucking pisses me off, tbh. Oh well.
Pac Pix: This game is really charming, I ended up liking it. Right after I beat Ouendan (Cheer Girls!) I'm playing this.
Kirby: ...what else can be said? The game that Yoshi TNG was supposed to be. This game rocks. And the music is fantastic too! I love that jingle with Kirby too, hehehe.
Meteos: Addicting. Too addicting. I've logged in over 30 hours with this baby. People say that when I buy a PSP I should get Lumines, and I will. Anyhow, Meteos is absolutely fantastic. My favorite puzzler ever.
Nanostray: Biggest waste of 30 dollars I've ever had... and I've been gaming nearly all my life. This game is just plain AVERAGE... And I love shooters (hori/vert). The touch screen sucks, the scoring system sucks... everything about this game sucks. Uninspired drivel. Look, the game had its moments... but holy shit. Stay far from this thing.
Ouendan DS: ...BEST GAME ON THE DS RIGHT NOW BABY WOO!
Nintendogs: Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. :) Whether it's classified as a game or not... I like this game alot. I see myself playing this years from now, tbh. So much untapped potential too, tbh!
Advance Wars DS: ...watch out Ouendan, because AW: DS is going to be a contender of best DS game! This game rocks, simple as that. Jake can burn in hell though.

Games I'm looking forward to:
Sonic Rush: This has to be my most anticipated title this year. It's all Sonic, baby! This was why the DS was made... simultanesouly (I know I spelled that wrong) action on both screens. I fell in love with this game the moment I saw the trailers for it. This is EXACTLY the type of software the DS needs. I feel that this title is innovative, feel free to argue with me, but I think it is. If the game truly does impress, I feel that this will be the DS GOTY...
Mario Kart: ...unless Mario Kart online has to say anything about it. I love all things Mario, and of course, Mario Kart has always kicked ass. Hey, I liked Double Dash!! alot, but I feel it's the weakest MK in the series. I hope this MK is the best one yet. I'm still pissed off as holy hell that Nintendo scrapped online battle mode from this thing. :(
Animal Crossing: Is anyone else looking forward to this? It's almost like an MMO... okay, that's further from the truth but still. Me and the boys from BLONG! are going to have oh, so much fun with this title. You know, people find this title boring and I can see why, but man... I'm sorry but I just can't wait. Hehehe.
Phoenix Wright (The Lawyer Game): This ain't no Law & Order... but the premise of the game has me excited. I hope it delivers.
Trauma Center (or something like that): The surgery game, right? It looks really interesting. I've heard nothing but good things about the title.
Viewtiful Joe DS: Henshin-a go-go, baby!
Castlevania DS: Oh yeah! I'm playing SoTN in preparation for this beauty.
