=(

I'm sure there will be surprises, but probably not something super huge to be leak worthy. I think that'll be reserved for Playstation Experience, which I'm definitely not missing this year.

An attention-needing "insider" isn't going to come here and leak some third party marketing deals or new indies which people wouldn't really know yet, since most of the time they are new IP. I'll be excited to see them during the show though!

I think super huge leak worthy surprises are kinds of guaranteed after expanding to so many new theatres for the e3 event.

What do you mean? Do you mean cinemas? Or actual on site theaters at E3?

I believe he means the live streams happening at cinemas in the US and Canada

=(

I think it'll be a good show. It is almost impossible to truly be an amazing show for everyone without something like TLG or FFVII remake being announced and shown off. It should be a lot of fun. The surprises will likely be many, but I can't say that I expect megaton after megaton

Might as well go all in, one company at a time.

Microsoft:

Halo 5: Massive Info dump, unquestioned star of the show.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: Pushed to December to give Halo 5 some breathing room. Gameplay demos.
Fable Legends: Out in early 2016, Info dump with gameplay.
Gears of War Collection: Announcement with a November release date. Done to build hype for...
Gears of War 4: Announcement trailer.
Crackdown: More info, given a vague 2016 date.
Phantom Dust: F2P, releases in September.
Remasters of Metal Wolf Chaos and Shin Megami Tensei Nine. Announced in name only, stated to be worked on for late 2016 as a last ditch attempt to capture the Japanese market. This attempt is paired with...
FF15: More gameplay/cutscene footage. Given a firm Spring 2016 release date.
KH3: Date moved to 2017, will prepare a port of 1.5 HD + 2.5 HD in mid-2016 as a refresher course for MS fans.
3rd Party Montage: Bits and pieces of what's shown at other conferences. Ubisoft has a go with AC and The Division + Rabbids. EA pops up with Battlefront and a tease for ME4 (Saying it premieres first on X1), Bethesda comes in with Fallout 4 and Doom, WB peeks their heads out for a last-ditch Arkham Knight promotion, Konami shows the MGS5 trailer they use for the entire conference.
Indie reel: No real exclusives, just timed releases.
Minecraft Telltale release date + Gameplay for January. Brief confirmation that Minecraft 2 is in development.
CoD: BLOPS 3: Full Monty. Gameplay, DLC announcement, release date, what have you.
New Destiny DLC announced. December release date.
New Controler revision called "Ace". Better bumpers and triggers.
New Console Bundles with Gears and Tomb Raider.
Last announcement is a reveal of multiple projects from Rare underneath the banner: "The Ultimate Projects: Play the games" for maximum nostalgia. Battletoads XBLA in September, Conker's Big Reunion + Project Spark retail release in January, KI Season 3 in 2016 and the big clincher being Banjo-Threeie for release in Fall 2016.

I am 99% sure that the rumored KH Current gen remaster will not come to the XB1. Everything we've heard in rumors suggests that SE doesn't see anything to gain in it, the splits on game sales for those style titles is absurd, over 80% in favor of PS4 in the strongest territory for the XB1, over 90% in the rest of the world. Likewise don't expect XV to have any role in the MS conferences.

Also, Destiny DLC will only be shown at Sony or Activision's conferences, due to the marketing deal with Sony for long term with Destiny. Rumors also state the Sony has the marketing deal for COD this year.

Guys, I've changed my mind.
Sony will start the conf with Deep Down.

Now... Seriously. What happened to that game?
Limbo? Nobody care?

They received incredibly negative feedback about the controls for the Demo. Always assumed they went back to the drawing board with it to try and redesign the gameplay around a control scheme that doesn't involve aiming spear thrusts like the most awkward damn FPS ever conceived.

Wasn't there some weird Assassin's Creed-y type conceit to the storyline? If I recall, it technically takes place in modern/future NYC (or some major metropolitan city), but there's some sort of travel into the past (I honestly can't remember).

Edit- Boo yah!

The player perspective for Deep Down begins in New York City in the year 2094. By touching magical artifacts, players are teleported into the distant past to explore dungeons and avoid or battle monsters and seek treasure. Each of these dungeons are randomly generated for each player. As well as this, the artifacts you touch correspond to an emotion, including anger, rage, hate, envy, lust and wrath.

Why can't it be just set in an actual medieval setting? Just like there should be an ACIV without the AC. Just make a pirate game, actually set in the pirate era. I can't complain though, since it was supposed to be free-to-play, right?

Might as well cancel KH3 on Xbox One then, as a vast majority probably never played the series, and with KH never being on Xbox before, the split between it and the PS4 version will be even bigger than the Type-O one.

Implying everyone who owned a Xbox has only ever owned a Xbox? I switched from PS2 to 360 and I guarantee a large number of other people did too.

By that logic no Kingdom Hearts game outside the PS2 should have sold well. I mean, Kingdom Hearts 1 wasn't on the 3DS or GBA. Type 0 was a new ip and a remaster. It didn't have a fraction of the marketing that KH3 will have either. Apples and oranges.

Edit: Type 0 is a spin off, correction. I still don't they're good comparisons.

They probably would if they felt the negative backlash in perception was worth it. They already announced KH3 and FFXV as coming to the XB1- Kagiri's comments were that it was due to the assumption that the XB1 would be doing a lot better than it is, with more of the marketshare that is apparently, almost entirely on PS4 this time around.

Question is did you buy an Xbox One or PS4 this gen? If you bought a PS4 the fact remains you will buy KH3 on PS4 thus making it that Xbox One version of KH3 sells less that 10% over 90% that PS4 will have. See where I'm getting at?

Sure, but the problem with that is Kingdom Hearts is in a different category compared to other JRPGs as far as western appeal goes. A nostalgic factor that Type 0 didn't have.

You have a tv trailer with Darth Vader or Aladdin or Else on it, and you think that won't move units?

I agree with the jest though, KH3 will sell better on PS4. I just think the type 0 comparison, and correlation to 90/10 split is bad.

Nope to those because they are or will be co-marketed with PlayStation.

No, Rare isn't some megapowerhouse, at best they'll have one main game and 1 smaller downloadable game

.

Gran Turismo 7, Gravity Rush on PS4, Uncharted Collection, new X-COM, God of War IV, Resident Evil 7 tease before TGS, Dishonored 2, and Fallout 4 are my choices.

Iron Galaxy's actually been working on KI; they could slap Season 3 of the game onto a Rare Nostalgia banner like that because of the series' history, but it doesn't eat at Rare's development time. Add in the fact that Spark's finished and would just need a retail release, IIRC, and I can actually see that last prediction being feasible.

No, Rare isn't some megapowerhouse, at best they'll have one main game and 1 smaller downloadable game
To be fair, he only mentioned one new AAA game and one new smaller downloadable game in his list.

Killer Instinct is being made by Iron Galaxy and a Microsoft team in Redmond. Conker's Big Reunion is being made by Team Dakota.

I could easily see MS announce two new Rare-related games at E3. I think those games will be a new IP from Rare and Battletoads from an external developer, though.

I didn't mean anything major with WB/Bethesda/Konami/EA/Destiny, just a little "Hey, we're still working on this, here's the trailer you've seen 5 times, see more at our booths/confrences"-type thing. Same goes with Squenix.

Phantom Dust didn't seem like it would be a big thing, more like a D4-esque stealth release.

Fable just seems like it'll be delayed a tad. It's competing with Halo 5, Tomb Raider and BLOPS3, so it'd seem like it would need more breathing room.

Gears... I do see what you mean, but it seems like you'd need the other two to get people up to speed for the announcement.

Microsoft is going to commission some sort of sequel (Not spinoff) to Minecraft. You don't buy the rights to the hottest indie game of the past 5 years and simply make a side game made by the walking dead people. You start on a followup, even if it's just in the stage of batting ideas around.

MWC/SMT9 were just my picks for a surprise revival, like Phantom Dust last year. They seemed like the cultish type things Microsoft would get to try and go for the really hardcore crowd, like how they went for Raiden and Cave shooters last gen.

Some people have suggested that MS should announce an expansion to Minecraft with a new world, enviroments, NPCs and so forth. I like that idea. There are mods that lets you do some crazy shit with the game, but not everyone wants or have the option to deal with mods.

I think it's still too early to make a real sequel to Minecraft.

What do you think will be the star of MS's show?

Halo

Scalebound even though it is from a proven developer, it is his first time working with a Western publisher and Microsoft are known to keep a very close eye on their projects.

You seen how Microsoft reacted to Phantom Dust and I am sure these bigger titles will be scrutinised even more.

I'm sure MS will go all out with whatever Rare's new game is. Whether it will steal the show or not is entirely up to Rare but it certainly could if they have a promising concept.

I'm not getting my hopes up. It's not the same studio it was in the past, and they haven't exactly delivered games with substance for about a decade. I hope I'm wrong and they blow it out of the water, but I guess we'll see.
