E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

New post, since I wrote more than I thought.

Here we go:

This is my wishlist from a while back. I've deleted games off it that I've talked about being in development in the past, and titles that people already know are in development (MM's new IP, GG's new IP, Gran Turismo etc.).

Here's the truth about this wishlist, when I posted it, about half of these games were probably going to show up at E3. Hence why I said in the post that I'll like E3 if even half of them show up. Now here's the thing, forget that. The when doesn't matter now. And that post is now meaningless with that kind of statement since I know what's happening generally, and the number doesn't fit due to some changes.

Instead, here's what I can tell you. All of the list is true, except for two games, which I can't vouch for. One of those games is actually coming to Nintendo, but that's second hand information, and I don't really know about it. The other hasn't even entered pre-production, and SCE is in talks about possibly getting something done with it. We'll have to see about that. But even without those two (and I won't say which two those are since if I do, I confirm something I don't want to), there's still a lot here.

I'll start you off. JRPG1 and JRPG2, which I've talked about several times, don't need any elaboration. You'll know both soon enough. JRPG3 is in pre-production at the moment, and is something that should appeal to fans. This will be announced in 2016, at the earliest, I would assume. They've only just started picking things up this year. JRPG4 is much further away. This will be a more significant title, but you're not hearing about this anytime soon. This is towards the end of the generation. JRPG5 is similar to a title that you already know about. Also, a late generation title.

That's your Sony exclusive JRPGs which SCEJ/A is going to be involved in some shape or form over the next five years. Nice, isn't it? I don't think you have to worry about any of them being cancelled. But don't expect to hear of the latter three anytime soon, but I'm sure it'll look more believable once JRPG1/JRPG2 are announced since those are up first, and hey, we're not that far now.

To ruin some SE stuff.

FF7 spin-off. Real. Not AAA, but it'll be good. No one is going to complain. Current gen. Square Enix crossover is PS4 exclusive. I don't mean Musou. New Parasite Eve is pretty straightforward. A new PE game.

Monster Hunter PS4, I think I was caught by Chobel in January when I posted it, and edited it. But it's been leaked from the looks of it anyway. That's your upcoming MH PS4 game. However, it's not the only one. SCEJ/A has been discussing with Capcom about bringing more Monster Hunter to PS4 for a while, and for the most part, the only thing I can say is things are looking pretty good on that front. Please be excited. Although, check your expectations a little if you're expecting some massive effort. We're just fitting in what exists, rather than trying to create something new.

The new Naval RPG is a western game. Big publisher, big budget. And I think that's about enough.

All sounds like bullshit, doesn't it? That's good. If it sounds too believable, it'd be no fun.

Verendus, can you clarify something for me?

You say that your list (save for two games) is "true". Do you mean that the games are going to appear at E3, or that they are simply in development; that they "exist"?

I've been reading it as the latter, and I'm arguing with folks who believe that the former is true. I'm trying to keep expectations tempered for E3 (and potentially keeping folks from going "well Verendus said such and such but that never happened; he's a fake") but said folks believe I'm overthinking it. I reasoned that, since you said in this same post that JRPG 3 won't be announced until 2016 at the earliest, there's no way all of these games could show up at E3, but they seem to think that the JRPGs part of your list is separate for some reason.

Can you offer me anything here?

Only thing you can expect from this is may be one JRPG (Level-5). Even then don't be surprised if does not show up.

Keep your sanity and stop arguing with crazies.

I usually only watch the Ninty event, but I'm interested in checking out other conferences this year. Not super interested in mainstream shooters and "mature" games (like anything Ubisoft) and I'm not really into Square Enix animu stuff, (but I like FE, so maybe it's just a Nintendo thing). But I'm into Uncharted 4, Fallout 4, No Man's Sky and MAYBE Mass Effect 4 (if it gets announced, but EA in general makes me hurl) What should I check out? Sony? Bethesda? Valve? Mobile developers?

Thanks!

JRPG #1 & #2 has been teased before 1-2 years back by Verendus, and are also the two games, that on his account, is probably the closest to a reveal over the next year or so.

The popular speculation is that JRPG #1 is Level-5's game, given that Sony has worked with Level-5 before on publishing deals, and we know L-5 intends to announce a game at E3.

The other games, like PE, MH, JRPG #3,#4,#5, etc, are all new teases that only came out yesterday. No one's really expecting those to be announce

Soooo...

- No shooters
- No Mature Games
- No Japanese Games

Yeah, Sony and Nintendo sound right up your alley. I recommend giving them both a watch, and maybe the PC one if you can stay awake for it.

Sony (half of the conference will bore you though) and maybe the Konami conference actually

How far off is the PS-ALL Star successor? Other than Tokyo Jungle 2(I WISH!!!!), I really want to play the successor since the first one had so much potential, The Great Verendus!

Great idea.

It's actually folks at 8wayrun taking the list as some kind of confirmation that a new Soul Calibur will be announced at E3. I'd love for that to happen, but I think they're jumping to conclusions just a bit. That being said, the stars are fairly aligned, what with the character poll last month and how Namco is due to show a Fighting/Wrestling game for PS4 & Xbox One.

But after two E3s on GAF and lots of events in between, I've grown to dislike turning any sort of tease into a confirmation. It just makes everything else a little worse when what appeared to be "confirmed" doesn't show up. And really, you've only got yourself to blame.

I'm still of the opinion that at E3 we'll get:

Beyond: Two Souls Remastered
Beyond: Two Souls 2.

Basing this off the game's ending, which
I interpreted as a cliffhanger, but I never went back and played the other endings.

So yeah, here's my guess for Sony:

Opens with demo for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (or Battlefront, assuming Sony doesn't actually have CoD marketing)
Some stuff about sales numbers

First Party stuff
Uncharted 4 demo
Until Dawn
Horizon trailer + demo
Media Molecule
God of War IV tease

Third party stuff:
Destiny Comet gameplay
MGSV trailer
Square Enix stuff
Battlefront
Something from Take Two or Ubisoft
Morpheus
Indie Games

Closing statements
PS4 price cut announcement + new PSN features
And then, Shu gets on stage. He looks at the audience and says "we have one last thing to show you. (Emphasis on the word "Last".)
The camera pans to Andrew House stepping on a Vita.
"That's all folks!"

I'm not sure if I understand your "mature," restriction but the fact that you're still interested in UC4 and Fallout 4. Also if you're into Fire Emblem then I really recommend dipping your toes into animu stuff with SMT or other Atlus stuff.

I guess so. Yeah, was that the event where he talked about TLG being at the show?

Haha, what a screw up. Speaking of which, he's still on twitter, writing his fan fiction away about E3.

What a damn screwup man!?! Why did he do that? Shieeeeeet. Fucking stupid ass. It's like he got everything he teased wrong!! FUCKIN LOOOOOOOOOOOL. He teased Street Fighter V! HA! oh wait...okay. Got lucky! HE TEASED DRAGONS DOGMA WHAT A FUCKING JOK- oh wait that happened 1 week later. Uhm...luck again? DAMN MAN. He just needs to stop with all of this spewing bullshit...such a damn screwup man. He teased something related to FF7/and all we got was a fucking PC port? SHIIIIIET THIS GUYS A MOTHERFUCKING FRAUDASS. Betcha he's actually an IGN editor wanna be leaker. LOlolooololOooolo0l. CRASH MAN. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN?! Everything points to it, but that'll never happen ever! Damn. Hope this edge CRASHES and burns....OHHHHHH SEE WHAT THE FUCK I DID THERE? TLG...where do we even get started?! SONY isn't doing it even though they've said countless times its still in development. IT'S DEAD. Go to the GAF funeral service man! Sony has just been saying that to make us feel pain and distraughtness. Theyve said it's coming but NAWWWEWEWWWEHDJSBSIDHHSH. It. Is. Deader. Than. Dead. Some would say it really was the Last of the Guardian. OOHJAHHAH sickkkkkk BURRRRRRRRN.

So fucking done. Should've just kept my mouth shut...ugh. I realize it didn't happen at PSX and I truly am sorry for that, but Im starting to realize why some "insiders" just keep their mouthes shut. Poor Verendus. He will give us this list that he said himself wasn't confirmed for E3 and stuff won't happen and he will get shat on. To those that still trust me, which aren't many, thank you. You will not be let down. Again, I was wrong about PSX but I've gotten things correct, so saying my track record is complete shit is a bit of an overstatement. Sorry. That's the best answer you're getting. Also. Sorry for the rant. E3 HYYYYYPE!

Was there ever any viable proof that Crash, as you predicted, was PS4 bound?

Yes.

I'm curious about this too Worthy. Was it Crash, Dragon's Dogma, and TLG, that were rumoured right? I know that the latter two were never planned for PSX (in the case of DD, it should be pretty clear why), but where did the Crash rumour come from?

That's pretty interesting.

Edit:

Or maybe not. This seems like a touchy subject. Never mind.

No worries at all...sorry.

edit: The Last Guardian will be shown, fuck y'all

Please let me be wrong, if it happens i will buy a ps4 for it

Seriously though guys, I know you like blaming WorthyEdge for a bunch of stuff, but the way I see it you guys are just as culpable. You all should know better that not everything pans out the way they might seem or some have heard or whatever. Yeah he gave bad information, but a bunch of you ran with it, learn to pick up on certain things and don't let the hype or whatever get you to those points. I was there when all the PSX stuff was happening, I got hyped, but holy shit, how many times are we gonna bust someone's balls?

Yes.

Thanks, Worthy.

I for one believe you. :D

We all know something is going on here.

P.S: Today I finally experienced VR with the Oculus on a Environmental Excursion, Good Stuff. Confirmed Morpheus owner here.

Verendus, can I ask you just one thing?

You know the image of the signpost from a PS4 advert which showed a symbol of Crash with an arrow pointing to SCE?

What is the meaning of that?

Lol. Get out early V. It's getting serious.

Last Guardian will not happen and va'll know it. Just stop, it'll make it easier for ya'll.

The faithful know that denial equals the greatest of likelihoods that the game is ready to be shown - the immanency of silence - the calm before the storm. Everyone involved wants it to be a surprise, the coming of age, the greatest revival since the enlightenment - no rumors, no leaks. The faithful can see through that thin veil. Years of service to a cause has made us strong, we will survive the imminent return of The Last Guardian with flying colors.

Yeah, I think would be nice to get that answered

Yeah, anybody still giving Worthy a hard time over PSX needs to move on. He's doing you, us, a favor by saying anything at all. Any "insider" is only as good as the information they're given. God forbid one of them only be 75% correct.

Like, mother of God, do people have such a boner for Crash Bandicoot that not seeing a new Crash game at PSX is still a sore spot a year later? Do you seriously get all riled up still? So much so that you're still out for the blood of somebody who never had to tell you anything in the first place?

Fans need to learn that people can be wrong. Industry rumors are still rumors. If somebody is blatantly lying all the time, you'll know it. This was never Worthy.

Redirect your hate towards Takami, who has being a showboating child all week. Worthy is just one of us. Let it go.

Editing mistake, I'm sure. The arrow was reversed. They probably meant Sony threw Crash in the trash.

Since he's a piece of garbage.

This.

He got wrong information. That's all there is to it.

Just stop treating him as an insider, and just a fellow GAFer, and suddenly, your world changes. You know, for the better, less bitter.

Yeah I don't see why people are bitching about worthy. Everything he's said has come. Are we bitching about FF7? Because we got that. It may not have been what y'all wanted but it's FF7. His dates might have been off but who fucking cares, he's been on point. Sheeeeeiiit

Aha, but wasn't Ryu featured in that advert and low and behold, Street Fighter V was announced for PS4 almost a year later, and exclusive too?

I think it was deliberate, but whether Sony has acquired the IP from Activision remains a mystery.

With their blossoming relationship, I wouldn't be surprised if its happened already.

The game will be a third party exclusive. Sony is not buying anything. V had some hints about collaborations a longggg time ago bout Lockstar etc - chances are some of those devs in riddles was Activision. If he mentioned Activision outright everyone will jump the gun on Crash. Same for Agent if he said Rockstar.

So what are you saying? That Activision is making an exclusive Crash game for PS4?

Do you really believe that? This is Activision. Some say The Devil himself. One of the most dominant publishing forces in gaming history.

Are they the kind of people who would make an exclusive for PS4? Think about it. Capcom likes making exclusives, but what was the last exclusive game Activision made?

The alternative is you believe Sony has somehow bought the IP. But with what money? We poor, man. I can't even buy socks these days. And why would Activision sell Crash? They could reinvent him and make him a billion dollar mascot like Spryo.

Lmao, GAF has always been pretty hostile for 'insiders' ever since the whole Famous Mortimer shit show. Unless you're confirmed to be working for a major company, expect reception to be pretty hostile.

What was the last successful Activision game that's not a shooter and that's not associated with Blizzard?

They have that IP rotting there for nothing. A collaboration makes sense and you know it :) .... even if Activision has the cash to make 10 Crashes - companies don't waste a cent if they don't have to. It's a niche title in a genre not as strong as it used to be. It's also a game strongly associated with one specific platform. Makes too much sense.
