Looks like it's Rising 2 based on their recent Tweet. I'm sure it'll be nice for everyone to stop pretending that the 2 that showed up in Sony's Taipei Game Show stream wasn't about MGR2.

Itsuno is still at Capcom.

Itsuno + DMC5 > Platinum + DMC5

So I hope that rumor doesn't pan out.
They allowed the premier fighting game franchise in gaming to be exclusive. Anything is possible.

How the hec SE allowed ROTR be timed-exclusive is another mystery.

To be fair, a DMC game exclusive to a Playstation platform (which the first three pretty much were) and a Xbox platform are two widely different things.

I don't think MS would be stupid enough to moneyhat another Plat title when they already have one. They may have the money, but Phil's pragmatic when it comes to not having too many "similar" games.

I'd sooner believe RE7.

I don't know why Sony can't get an exclusive from Platinum..

They don't need one. Platinum games are adored by the hardcore audience, but they don't sell. Like, at all. The only decent seller was Metal Gear and that was because of the name behind it.

Vanquish flopped.

Wonderful 101 flopped.

Bayonetta 2 flopped.

You heard it here first, I'm 100% sure Scalebound will flop. Japanese games and Xbox don't mix. Add Platinum to the stew and you've got a bomb on your hands. If Sony wanted a game to woo the hardcore and lose money, then sure, get Kamiya on speed dial. But that's not necessary, because they've already won over all the hardcore gamers. Partnering with studios like Capcom and From make a lot more sense because they have profitable IPs that can sell and build brand awareness.

Why would they? Any game outside of Bayonetta 1 and Rising have been commercial bomba's and even those 2 did not exactly sell that well.

True, but I think it could sell well on PS4 overall, with Japan and all. I mean, it would be better than Xbone and probably Wii U, sales wise.

Nah. Platinum+DMC5. Itsuno+DD2.

Platinum+MGR2. Itsuno+DMC5

Even Bayonetta 1 was not considered a success.

Which is why I think they signed a multi game deal with MS.

There is a method to my madness, folks.

I thought a few days ago what if MGR 2 shows up at e3? Wrote it off as a dream that was not worth dreaming. I come here today with a small bit of renewed hope, I need more rising in my life.

It probably could, but i doubt getting a PG game is a priority for Sony at the moment, from what we are seeing there are plenty of Japanese games coming to PS4.

Personally i would rather see Sony approach Vanillaware for a PS4 game.

Hasn't Platinum said that they have a PS4 project(s?) in the works?

I recall several Japanese developers being interviewed not that long ago regarding PS4 games and Platinum was one of them.

Hi Neogaf :D

Doubling down on Platinum worked! New game!

With their recent Micro Direct and the Smash Bros. thing on Sunday, what are the expectations for Nintendo now?

Also first post, hi everyone!

Hi!

-No 3DS stuff during the actual digital event except for one big game (Metroid?), but several localizations announced afterwards.
-All the Smash dlc and such will be announced during the Smash Direct, save for Ryu, who will be announced during the digital event.
-Probably some amiibo game made by the Nintendo Land team and amiibo in third party toys to life games. Amiibo. Amiibo. Amiibo.
-The rest of my predictions earlier in this thread remain the same.

After playing Witcher 3 I have come to realise Ubisoft don't have a fucking clue about open world design. Nor story for that matter.

Really? I mean, I agree about the story. I just don't understand the point about open world design. Every zone I've seen seems to be the same icon hunt that Ubisoft games have. The copy pasted "clear out the enemies to bring life back to the world!" crap got annoying at the 5 hour mark.

Yet Scalebound exists

Well, they needed something to diversify the lineup. That 'shooterbox' mentality has been dogging Xbox for a long time now, even if there are aspects of it that are sort of true. Games like Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Madden sell better on Xbox. I suppose this is an attempt to diversify their portfolio and show hardcore gamers that they care.

Why wouldnt scalebound sell?If it is a good game then why not? It has dragons after all

It's a new IP, smaller potential user base, and Japan and Xbox are like water and oil. It would have to be a critical darling to sell respectable amounts, but that's not out of the question.
