E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Microsofts e3 last year was better than Sonys.

Ironically Sony spent a lot more time talking about things not related to actual games.

Plus do no one else remember that boring shit we had to sit through just over half way through their conference???

Microsoft were focused on games, games, games at least. Which was a contrast to "TV,TV,TV, sports" in 2013.

This E3 will be interesting for sure. I'm hoping Andrew House threw a curveball with his statement regarding a "sparse lineup"
Ironically, the general opinion was that Sony's E3 conference was better. Even the majority of the media said that.
But of course you (or whoever else) can have your opinion. If you like the Xbox stuff more, of course you think they won for you.

I'm struggling to understand how you looked at those lists and came to that conclusion.

It sounds like a pretty realistic list to me. I don't expect more than 1 or 2 major surprised from Microsoft other than the ones you mentioned. Microsoft's show is pretty predictable as far as what's supposed to show up.

I hope we get a KH collection for PS4. Id like them all on one system and its years since I've played through KH2.

Likewise. I expect we'll get one either this year or next. I need to catch up on all of the games that aren't on PS2. The rest are just so damn expensive.

Really looking forward to Square-Enix's showing, hopefully Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance get their much-needed remasters. Add the possibility of Kingdom Hearts 3 and Eidos stuff plus new announcements and we can get a solid presentation.

I have one question regarding No Man's Sky: what is the consensus now? Show or no-show? I read Gamespot said it won't be at press conferences but someone (PS Germany maybe?) said it would be there.....do we have something firm?

Disagree. If for nothing else: Bloodborne, which was announced and released in the time since last E3. Of the three 'big' games MS announced last year, we have yet to even see gameplay footage from any.

Ironically Sony spent a lot more time talking about things not related to actual games.

I don't think this is true at all. I know there was a 15 minute segment about TV stuff, but Sony's conference was also about half an hour longer than Microsoft's, so that would still have left a lot more time focused on game relevant stuff.

More like 4 and a half. Although it did feel like 15.

I think another Socom would be interesting. I doubt Sony (or really anyone) is interested in another one right now though.

Define surprises?

I'd define a 'surprise' game as one that either isn't expect to show, but appears anyway (God of War 4 isn't expect to show up at Sony's presser, if it did, I'd consider it a surprise), or a major game that appears out of nowhere (Splatoon, Rainbow Six, Scalebound, etc.). Gears of War isn't a surprise game, it's rumored to show. Same for Rare's title. Even though Microsoft has a lot of games being held off until Gamescom, they still have a fair amount of things to show, and when you include 3rd parties and indies, I only expect 1 or 2 major surprise announcements.

Verendus, sing me a song of Suikoden.

I doubt it. No one's even hinted about a new Suikoden happening. Considering we're this close, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Whattt, that list is pretty awesome they only have 2hrs dont they?

what else am I missing? the last guardian?

and if you think my sony prediction is pessimistic, then I dont know what you think the xbone's is

---

im not into jrpg's so interchange what you will, but I dont think there will be many more games then the number I posted (yes there will be more indies aswell, in there indie segment)

I think you've got the numbers pretty right but you're missing some of the fairly highly likely big hitters like GGs Horizon and Level 5s JRPG, plus we're all supposed to agree TLG is coming now, the hype meter is filled on that one.

Let it die, rime witness, no level 5 no horizon no new ip from another first party no destiny...didn't seem realistic to me at all. Move game from MM? nah.

Oops, I meant his Microsoft predictions. His Sony presser is obviously pretty bad. Let it Die on stage? I sure hope not. It looks cool, but it brings back Lily Bergamo pains every time.

I can understand people feeling Microsoft's was better because at the end of the day both were pretty sparse but MS had the better pacing, more entertaining show with less fluff, and that is important, this is a major marketing event and they did it better.

Sony really need to cut down on the suits and their droning on about rubbish nobody turning into an E3 conference is going to care about.

Verendus said a new Suikoden game was being made. Most likely not being revealed at E3 tho.

Well..

If I read it correctly, there is a questionnaire included with either the boxed version of DMC4SE that asks about the future of the series. Also the comment box for the art book says something about there being a "passionate plea" from Itsuno regarding future iterations.

At the end of the interview, Itsuno says something like "It's been 7 years since 4 was released, and we finally did the Special Edition. That said, I don't know if I can make more of the numbered series. In order to not wait another seven years or to let this be it, please support DMC4SE and voice your messages of hope for the series' continuation."

I've been thinking what the gaming convention equivalents to football events would be.
E3 is the World Cup.
Gamescom is the Champions League final.
TGS is the League Cup final.
PSX is the FA Cup final.

Doesn't he predict that every year? lol

He does indeed, but than so do many of us here so you cant blame him ;)

The funny thing is that no matter what happens, we (Other than Y2Kev of course :P) do think every time that it really will be here every time because it does make sense.

Lets just hope that this time its for real and not just in our hearts :)

Why is so much stuff being announced prior to E3? The only explanation for me is to avoid being lost in the crowd and to allow people to digest it.

If that's true then we can expect amazing conferences from all studios.

My main hope is that Quantic Dream show something, I love their games
