Hadn't even thought about ebay for years before this thread.

Only thing I have ever used it fr was unique collectibles. Not so interested anymore though.

that will be $1M in unmarked bills

Do these "new logo!" companies realize everything's looking the fucking same now? Isn't that kind of missing the point of a logo in the first place?

Amazon still has a long way to go in terms of unique random items from individual sellers. I'd say Etsy is more on their turf and growing.

The problem is that Ebay has done their best to stamp out small sellers and their unique items when that was the whole point of the site in the first place. They are trying to be some wannabe Amazon now and it is ruining the site. They won't ever be able to compete with Amazon with their media and electronics listings so i wish they would just move on and focus on their strengths.

'dc' comics, 'ebay'. Fuck you redesigns and co.

Looks better

The old one looks like shit. It's not 1997 anymore.

The new one isn't blowing my mind either, but it's a much needed update to that old-ass logo. Reminds me of the Chuckie-Cheese update recently.

it's ridiculous how Yahoo! still has that wacky 90's logo. Your turn.

Here it is. Simple font, but with a slight wackiness that harkens back to its roots.
Now, a period takes the place of the exclamation mark to signify Yahoo's subtle connectivity and forward thinking and synergy.

You guys may appreciate this. On dribbble (pintrest for designers) everyone hated the new logo so a few people did an exercise where they redesigned the logo but only gave themselves 15 minutes.

There may be more but I'd have to look a bit.

I wouldn't have even realized they changed it if I just saw the new one without someone telling me like this. Boring.

I only just realised they changed the logo today.

My god.

The old logo wasn't great, but at least it had character.

It's clear Ebay were greatly inspired by Microsoft's new generic logo.

so, eBay, Google and Microsoft have pretty much just boiled down their logos into letters and basic shapes in primary colors.

I was talking yesterday with a friend about how not everything needs a minimalistic cold approach, especially if it's trying to invite you to buy things. We were discussing how some stores look so sterile and uninviting now and it's not welcoming really.

They just changed their favicon too!

I still recognized it as ebay on my bookmarks bar (no text), so it must be an improvement.
