I'd rather a Swastika had been there instead.
Less embarrassing.

There has been a new vocal rise of graphics-first and aesthetics-first gamers lately. So a game could play like a 10/10 but look ugly, and they simply won't play it no matter how many people say that it's great. These are just the beginnings of the accolades(I expect a goty nom at TGA unless Nintendo releases a better game before the cutoff). I struggle to understand myself how someone could get to the stage of having an account here and not already know this info, but I'm not upset, just curious. You seem concerned. You can play the game and find out for yourself. I promise you the reviewers aren't all lying to you, lol.
This was also my train of thought before I gave it a go, and honestly, while visually it's still not my cup of tea, in every other sense (especially its gameplay) it's fascinating. There are some challenge rooms in particular which have been head scratchers and make you use the full extent of DK's mobility, there's nothing more I could ask for. A 9 seems like quite a fitting score for it; something like Mario Odyssey was an 8 for me.I don't understand the review for Donkey Kong. The game looks artistically very boring. It's also supposed to be very easy.
Man, why are they always so cranky?
A lot apparently. The game was in such bad shape that they delayed it. Unfortunately it sounds like they still have a lot of work to do. A lot of the KF community just say it doesn't feel like a KF game at all. Doesn't highlight the things that they loved about the first two games whatsoever.Kf3 and Shire game same score?
What went wrong with kf3?
Oh men, that suxI love that I never cared for reviews. This is just more proof that "professional reviews" are still just some dorks opinion, lmao.
Wild seeing some of those 6s on the same level as other 6s, lol. I feel like they just felt like no longer thinking and wanted to throw them around.

This a good point and I wish more outlets would do the same instead of 7-10 range. Right now EDGE sticks out and it makes them look edgy when they really are not. And I am saying that as someone who rarely agrees with their opinion.Because they're pretty much the only place that doesn't inflate the review scores for every single game. It makes people really mad, but there's some real value in that.
Based on the demo at least, NG Ragebound feels a lot better than a damn 6, BUT their reviews are always at least well argued and articulated. Most reviews now barely spend time really breaking down gameplay systems and balancing etc. so I respect that shit. Doesn't matter if I agree.
Nah they're just awfully cranky sometimes. Maybe they don't like oldschool game mechanics? Or action?Because they're pretty much the only place that doesn't inflate the review scores for every single game. It makes people really mad, but there's some real value in that.

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound 6, Stellar Blade 6, Will of the Wisps 7, Metroid Dread got 8, which for me is shameful, 8 for Returnal, etc. Let's see what they think about Shinobi. And Silksong…
Wuchang 6 too. lol
I'm going with let's agree to disagree on that…I can't speak for Ragebound because, although I'm hyped as fuck for it, I still haven't played it. 8 IMO is a good score. So that leaves us with Stellar Blade and it's funny because I recently finished Stellar Blade. I feel like 6 is too generous, that game is a piece of shit. Edge could take things a bit further and not be afraid to dish out a few 4's, which is what I would have scored SB.
I enjoyed Stellar Blade enough so that I beat it twice but at the same time the game heavily advertised itself being NieR Automata "inspired" so in that sense in my opinion it did not deliver.I'm going with let's agree to disagree on that…
