Edge to merge with GamesTM?

Future are buying Games TM's publisher. Most likely outcome is they'll shut down all the competitions mags and consolidate. So Games TM will more likely be killed than merge with Edge, although they may keep some of the staff

BTW, if the buyout happens, Future will publish *all* the games mags in the UK O_O

If anybody touches my GamesTM, heads will roll.

As in roll down the street, spurting blood and stuff. Leave my magazines alone!

There are place of both, that differnce just come because format, the content it´s different enough to maintain their respective market.

I suppose Future will be reasonable about it taking on count the quality of Games TM.

I doubt it. Future have shut down previous competitors after acquisition. And Future already have a Games TM. Its called Edge. If they thought closing Games TM meant increasing Edges readership, they'd close it in a flash. Truth is, its probably the same people buying both Edge and Games

Games TM is really cool. The retro sections and full blitz pictorial spreads of ancient 2-D shooters and early 90's era game adverts always tug at my heart when I scan the pages. I hate to see the mag gutted and dissolved, even if it costs a ten-spot just to purchase overseas.

It tugs at my eyes given that it's so hideously put together.

I dunno. I know what you mean, but I don't have any qualms in seeing badly written mags punished.

Edit: anyway, this is all rubbish.

I hope they don't merge or get rid of either one, as both are great in their own right. The only upside would be that I wouldn't have to subscribe to both mags anymore -- they're damn expensive in the US!
