ELDEN RING |OT| One Ring To Rule Them All

Maybe this can help?

What an great video. VaatiVidya always does such a great job of explaining stuff without getting too complex. As a souls veteran, I still learned some new features within the Elden Ring universe from this video. One of my favorite is the rewarding of HP flasks received from clearing out a camp of enemies. In the past I would rest at a bonfire in order to refill my flask inventory, but this also resets all previously killed enemies. Now when low on HP flasks I just go wipe out a few enemy camps, while still maintaining all previously cleared out areas. Nice feature!

I'm absolutely loving this game so much, and I'm having the hardest time NOT playing, lol.
I guess I'm one of the few that haven't seen ridiculous dipping performance on PC. Very few micro stutters, but that's really it. It's buttery smooth otherwise. 🤷‍♂️

I hope the same/similar results for those of you that were/are super hyped.

Does anyone know where to get a greatsword?
I found it in a treasure chest on a carriage in the northeast area. I believe it's called Caelid? A ton of these wolf/dog t-rex things scout the area.

Edit - This may help:

I need to get better at this whole exploring thing. I’ve beat maybe four or five bosses now, explored a ton, and am still on my original weapon and clothing. Don’t think I’ve even seen a chest or anything of value really that I haven’t paid for myself… :-/

They did it boys. The genius bastards did it. It’s perfect. They should have charged double for this game.
This fucking game... I just lost a whole day of progess after the PS5 went into rest mode. FUCK That!

EDIT : Uninstalling this shit. Don't have the patience to deal with that. Went back to square one.
How so? You left the game running and walked away from it? Souls games usually autosave a lot.

The PS5 went into rest mode cause I left the game for a while, but with the shitty rest mode bug, it just turns off. Rebooted the system, loaded my game, got the warning that I should "exit" the game from the menu instead. And it loaded right back to when you exit the first tutorial dungeon.

tip for newcomers to these games:

exhaust all dialogue options with all NPCs

keep talking to them until they repeat the same dialogue over. and even then, try to talk to them again whenever you bump into them.

on a side note, I'm really surprised how deadly some of the monsters ranged attacks are. I've died a few times due to thinking I've created a enough distance or was safe hiding up high somewhere, only to have them track me down and hit me with some projectile. was really noticeable when I went exploring.

does anyone know if the vendors sell the same cookbooks/recipe books you can find in the wild?

I'm about to buy every book from all the NPCs but I wouldn't want to buy duplicates.

I have no idea how I can check this.

If you toggle the info/display button in the buy menu, I believe it tells you what items you can craft with the recipe. The same information should be in your inventory once you have bought the recipe.

I’m away from my Xbox, but are the cookbooks in your inventory? I thought only the recipes get added, and you don’t keep a physical book

I said i wasn't getting it because of performance but I couldn't resist

Killed godrick and the game wants me to progress to liurnia.. instead i went all the way south, started doing everything including castle mourne, then suddenly i got and elevator to a underground area that is gigantic, almost the size of limgrave, enemies there are too hard for me but I got some nice high level upgrade materials

I have to take a break i just played for almost 12hours, time to sleep

I'm rocking the colossal sword you get from castle mourne down south

Anyone know where Hyetta is? She's the one with weak eyesight. I saw her once earlier in the game (before I starting using map markers...) and now I can't find her. Wiki is also wrong on her initial location.

For me personally this is the easiest From game I've played and it's not even close. The wide expanse of the lands gives you every opportunity to upgrade and build your character as you want and be fully prepared for any situation.
not sure some bosses are a bitch.. i like the QoL improvements tho in dead> back to action.

Its fairly hard imo but i'm limiting myself. I use a 2h Greatsword and no magic. I beat Tree Sentinel at level 17 and Margit at level 20 though admittedly I did abuse the wolves there. Fast strikes is really good after he hits the ground from his jump, but it doesn't seem to initiate a riposte.

I am not using summon spirits but even ashes of war feel like from included easy mode within game. Bit torn on the issue, I really don't want make the game easy but on the other hand ashes of war feel kind of integral to the game.

At the 13 hour mark, just beat Godrick the Grafted.

Fun stuff!
Holy crap I'm a little over 20 hours in and just got to Godrick, the major separator from this and every other From game is that no single experience is going to be the same for anybody, not sure if I just found it easy to get to Godrick but I started roof jumping and feel like I missed quite a few parts getting to him.

For me I use summon spirits when farming an area I know for quick clean up or when I'm fighting a boss and I want to toss a few fireballs without having my guard up. Summon doesn't feel anywhere near as essential as Ashes but it's nice to have otherwise.

Vagabond is nice, but all the war arts are pure rubbish since they require 2H, which negates the whole point of going Vagabond (S&S). Really thinking of quickly pushing forward with Samurai, the katana ability is insane.

Get shield without parry and you can use arts without double handing.

Were do people go after academy? Capital or something elsd?

I just found her for the first time at a bonfire/grace on the way to Liurnia, dunno if she's still there for you. The Lake-Facing Cliffs one.

I have just beaten my first not hard but frustrating boss.

erdtree avatar boss is a mother fucker thats for sure. I spent about 2 hours to kill the damn thing. Usually what i do against boss like this is to give up, grind and get back later but erdtree avatar is simple af. Not easy but simple. Only thing you need to do is keep your distance, keep your horse healthy and dont get greedy. Only problem is every move that this asshole tree has can one shot both you and your horse. Area that you fight can not accomade you or the boss since its too small and there huge pots around so you get stuck in the envoirment a lot. One time i was about the kill the damn thing and was close and got stuck between two pots and instantly killed. Even after i killed it, i didnt feel that achievement feeling cuz everything about that boss feelt so unfair

I dont know GAF. Becareful with the eastern front.
Its hell out there.
