Wo Ho!

The clone item is insanely good, had given up on the run, died on the 6th chamber, only to be re-spawned on the 1'st chamber will all my upgrades! Did several achievements, only on hit from all 5 flawless.

Picked up the charm how with the space turtle and had a pretty fun run! Also, I can't believe Dragun can show up as jammed. That really pissed me off.

New patch just rolled out! More ammo crate drops, aim cursor while using controllers and a bunch of bug fixes.

Patch 1.0.8
MAY 6 - RUBEL
Hey everyone,

Pretty big patch today! The biggest change included is a fix for a bug which was preventing ammo crates from spawning for players using the starting guns heavily (thanks /u/asymptotical, /u/Zatherz, and /u/RatchetHero for helping find this!). The problem was with how room clear rewards are calculated, which occurs the moment you kill the last enemy in a room; typically you get a chance at a normal room clear reward (which can be a chest, heart, armor, ammo, etc), and a second chance specifically for an ammo drop. Due to this bug, that separate ammo drop roll wasn't happening if the player was holding an infinite ammo gun... In other words, using starting guns decreased the chance for ammo crates to spawn considerably! Hopefully this fix addresses the issues some have been having with ammo, though we'll continue to watch drop rates over time.

In addition, we added a new scaling mode in the graphics settings called Fast Scaling. This mode is only slightly different from Uniform Scaling, but should perform substantially better on GPU-limited systems. If you've tried to play in Uniform Scaling mode but couldn't due to performance, try Fast Scaling out! Please report any issues with Fast Scaling mode to bugreports@dodgeroll.com.

Man the clone is amazing. Went from my worst run to my best run thanks to it. Couldn't
kill the pilots past though. One boss battle that I wasn't prepared for with a new object to control with guns I wasn't used to. May take some time to get that one. Are you not able to use blanks during that fight? I kept trying to and nothing would happen.

His past is the hardest of the four but wasn't that hard still. Controls are still the same. You can't really miss so just ignore your aim. And concentrate on dodging. Its basically the best way to play the whole game. Especially if your on console and not keyboard/mouse.

Just had my best run ever cut short by the game freezing during the Kill Pillars fight. I had about 8 hearts and a bunch of weapons. Launched stingers at the boss and the ps4 just couldn't handle it or something and I had a freeze. Music kept playing and it didn't kick me to the dash. Really annoying.

Boy. I had the Bee with double vision and anhry bullets at dragon. The slowdown was fucking intense and there were what felt like thousands of bees.

So I'm rolling through 3rd chamber, and I see a glitch chest... 27 hours and I'd never seen one, and I didn't look it up so I figure, what's the worst that can happen?

And it teleports you to 4th chamber boss with a DOUBLE BEHOLSTER FIGHT

Stinger + Rolling Eye + Shock Rounds = dead Beholsters

They drop like 6 guns and a buncha armor, and its on to Chamber 5.

2nd time EVER fighting Dragun, and I don't even get hit. Stinger + Rolling Eye = easy mode.

I don't know if I'll ever see the true ending like I did with Spelunky, but goddamn it felt good to finally see the ending credits.

Nicely done!

So today I fought uh, Door
Lord
in Chamber 2. Was he always a Chamber 2 boss? Man I remember fighting him once before, but it surprised me. He's not really common, is he?

endgame spoilers i guess

i killed the past for all 4 characters, i assume to access level 6 i just beat it again with any of them and after the 5th boss ill automatically go to level 6?

The entrance is just before the chest with the past killing gun, you can't miss it.

I've only fought him twice in 30+ hours and he kicked my ass the first time. I think he's super uncommon.

Just killed the marine's past. I'm so pumped.

I died 48 times (feels like way more!) and in that time i exclusively used the marine. Except one time where i switched to try the pilot and hated his starting weapon.

The potion of lead skin pretty much carried me and allowed me to flawless the first 3 bosses.I feel like it shows up quite often and i think i might start taking it from now on whenever i can. I fought the wall on the 4th chamber and got rewarded with the mega buster on top of having demon head (which is kind of weak after the 3rd floor anyway) the hammer and double helix and a few other throw away guns.

Got to the 5th chamber and completely started choking (I hate those fucking rooms where you have to roll platform to platform while dodging the hammer that locks on to you) Found the boss pretty early and only had half heart. Decided to explore some more. By time finished the level i had 3 and a half hearts and a shield.

Kille Dragun with one heart left. Went to go take on the marine's past and thought there's no way im getting through this with one heart but it'll be cool to check out the level. Then i see they start you with 3 full hearts. Went on to find the intergalactic demon or whatever and he was super easy. Took a few hits but it was mostly due to nerves thinking at some point he was gonna throw some crazy super hard to dodge attack but he never did.

I really enjoyed playing as the marine.I found him to be very noob friendly. Not sure who to play next but i hope they're as fun.

Made it to the fourth floor for the first time. "The Emperor" is a really good gun.

Edit: I'm starting to get to the point where I can beat floor one every time. Feels good man. I'm also glad to hear that the devs are considering/working on a save/continue run feature.

I can't seem to get passed the second boss consistently. I know that like many of these kinds of games, half of the game is making enough progress to get more stuff into the dungeon. But since getting new things in the drop table requires boss credits, and you only get one or two at a time, I'm really burning out hard after 9 hours. Doesn't feel like I'll ever see the third floor more than the brief period of time.

Bums me out because the game feels fun to play, but I'm so sick of the first floor and not getting anything worthwhile, dying to the Twins or sometimes barely scraping by with the starting pistol, and then getting murdered on the second floor.

Trust me, it gets better.

All bosses from the first three floors are going to become a walk in the park in a few more hours of playing.

Finally got some time to dig into this game, it's soooooo good. I just wish I was better at it. I've only made it to the fourth floor a few times. I like that the early game inspires tough decisions on what to buy and what resources to spend, but progress often seems to come down to if you find a good room clearing weapon early on.

Exactly how i feel man, i had to admit its just not for me unfortunately, enjoyable game but i cannot handle playing that first floor again.

How the hell do you fight the Kill Pillers? I've got to them maybe five times and died in less than a minute.

Trust me, it gets better.

Haha. I'm 40 hours in and can't consistently beat the third boss. And I consider myself pretty good at this game.
Feels like I'm missing something important in the gameplay loop though because I always feel underpowered.

Just finished platinuming the game. Still missing a few items on the index, but I'll find them eventually. Sucks that I've yet to find a rainbow chest.

wtf the game completely fucked me just now

Tried to do the pilots past and it wouldn't let me blank even though i had two. There's a move that you have to blank through and i got hit 3 times cuz of it.

i'm so pissed.

There are no moves you have to blank through. Fire more missiles.

edit - or dodge roll

Well i guess i now know for next time but even still there shouldn't have been a reason for me not to be able to blank. The way that level is set up dodge rolling never even occurred to me and not having my blanks work and taking successive damage just ended up frazzling me in the moment

Yeah if I get lucky enough to get another weapon on the first floor.

There really should be a guaranteed weapon chest that has a free open like how Issac does a free item room on its first floor.

Nah. The early bosses are easily taken out even with starter weapons. Just memorize the patterns.

I completely agree. Getting 2 locked brown chests on the first floor and one of them is "Blank knockback up" is bullshit. Either spawn keys more often or guarantee a gun, game. I don't have time to restart every run that doesn't bother to give me any upgrades that matter, especially when I'm playing as the pilot and his starting gun is garbage.

Also, if the game can't be bothered to have any guns in chests (or good chests for that matter), it should at least have a gun for sale at the shop. I've said it before that this game is all about the zany guns, so I'm not sure why it seems so stingy about guns so often.

Was it the attack where the two wide laser beams trap you in the middle of the screen and he fires several rows of bullets at you? Because the first time I made it to that fight, that attack screwed me up because I didn't even think you could dodge roll in the ship.

Does this game completely wreck Nuclear Throne or will I still be able to enjoy that one after playing this?

Not at all - there's very little that carries over from NT. It's still a lot of fun, but I don't think the games are comparable. If you go in expecting anything from Nuclear Throne, you're only going to set yourself up for disappointment.

One thing NT does better is pacing and time to play. You'll need a decent 15 minutes in EtG to get the ball rolling, while an entire playthrough of NT can be that long. I ended up going back to NT because I just find it more rewarding when I don't have time to spare. I think I would totally jump back into EtG if there was a mod that helped speed up the pacing of the game.

Agreed. I'm the same. I probably play more NT than EtG lately for the time/reward part. Still enjoy runs on EtG but I just wish I would draw better weapons more consistently. With NT, all of the weapons are satisfying ... to me, at least. It's a more streamlined experience too, which is another personal preference thing.

All my yammering aside, I play both games regularly.

I just had my first ever encounter with Treadnaught.

What....The fuck.

I actually find it to be an ok boss. Both of the 3rd floor ones are ok.

I don't save on resources against it though. Always go with the best weaponry.

Just stay as far away as possible, and use the pillars to cover while they are there.

I don't know if this has been posted before but, you can shoot the bullet king's thrown wine glass out of the air. That shit was sick!

And yes I did succumb to his highness.
