1) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
2) Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos
3) Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh Steelers
4) Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
5) Tom Brady, New England Patriots
6) Clay Matthews, Green Bay Packers
7) Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles
8) Eli Manning, New York Giants
9) Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
10) Miles Austin, Dallas Cowboys

7 out of 10 of the NFLs best selling jerseys are of white players while the NFL is nearly 70% black.

Not saying everyone on this list (outside of Tebow) isn't a great player but to act like race plays no part is very naive.

And how many of those are QBs? But nah, let's just play the race card instead.

Edit: Please don't put bullshit in my mouth. To act like it's based solely on race is complete bullshit too.

That's because most QB's are white and they obviously would sell the most jerseys.

Again, quarterbacks. 7 out of those 10 are also quarterbacks. People always buy QB jerseys and QB's are mostly white. People always look for racism in places where there are perfectly logical explanations.

damn beaten twice

It does open up a discussion though about whether black quarterbacks are given equal opportunities to white ones.

I'm really not sure, though.

QBs are mostly white? Stop being racist.

And it's funny because #3 overall and the first non-QB is Polamalu who apparent has been ignored most of his career because he's not white.

Do we know if the pool coming into the NHL is as big? It's like asking if white safetys or WRs get the same opportunities. I would say you can't draw anything unless we know the breakdown by race for each position.

So, Patriots defense is terrible. Tebow was just having mercy on them a few weeks ago. Who wants to bet this is his first 400 yard game?

Yeah, Cam Newton is every bit as big a star right now (maybe bigger) than Tebow. His team just isn't in the playoffs, let alone coming off an upset playoff win like Tebow's.

90% of the Tebow stuff is because he kinda sucks. With Newton, it's questions like whether he'll be one the best of all time. The two are not even on the same level.

If the Panthers played in the AFC West, they probably would be in the playoffs.

They might want to think about assembling something that looks like a defense too.

400 yards... rushing?

400 yard drive to end the game.

The offense with Tebow scored a weak 18.5 points

The offense punted more than anyone.

The stretch of games Tebow started was against a combined point differential of -168

The last 11 for the Giants was +727

well then why isn't vick completing 60% of his passes in a pass happy league? because he's always been inaccurate.

and on tebow, he hasn't played a full season yet in the league. it's not out of the realm of possibility that he will improve moving forward. i don't think it's a particularly crazy statement to think tebow will have a better nfl career than michael vick, a guy who's never been a winner in the nfl.

Tebow seems to have the work ethic to want to improve. Hopefully he can get better and continue to do what he loves.

I think too much of the hoopla is fabricated. Media refuses to just let hiim be a young quaterback in the playoffs. It's annoying to see someone such as AJ Yates get ignored.

These are both rational opinions in my views and clearly separate football from religion and ESPNs fabricated "Tebowmania".

The funny thing about the whole Tebowmania is that the kid literally NEVER gets out of his lane. He doesn't do any talking or proselytizing about his faith (not in the way people like to suggest), or talk about how awesome a person or player he is. He just plays football, leads, fucks up (often - he's a young QB in the pros, right?) and wins.

I like Tim Tebow, and naturally as a Patriot hater I hope he wins. I hope he keeps developing as a pro player and eventually can be taken seriously as a QB in the pros. I've never seen such vitriol for someone kneeling down ever. Nobody says shit when players thank God, or when teams do prayers in the huddle or after games. There are players in these pro sports who are ACTUALLY ministers and shit...but only Tebow is beating you over the head with his faith by not talking about it unless asked.

Excellent opinion, and I think it hits the nail right on the head. Outside of thanking his savior in his own way, he doesn't ramble on or try to convert on the spot. He's a sophomore QB that has been told over and over again that he won't succeed. The funny part is that being told a person cannot do something is one of the most powerful motivators.

You didn't post my more relevant one.

Well, is he a good QB yet?

Getting there...

And? I'm not saying he's a bad guy, but thinking god prioritizes Tim Tebow winning a football game is hilarious.

Well I think for those of us in the real world the idea is more about whether his faith is helping him in a tangible way that's showing on the field. That the answer is possibly yes isn't quite as hilarious.

Depends on the person. If someone is of the persuasion to believe that, who am I to correct them? I certainly do not go out of my way to tell a Christian that they are wrong or an atheist they are right. That's part of the problem anymore is that people on get so fired up over who is right and who is wrong that they end up not respecting each others beliefs.

I don't consider myself a Christian, but if Tebow wants to live a Christian lifestyle more power to him. If it enables the good in him and he can use that to improve society that is a good thing. I would say the same thing if it was an atheist enabling good in the world.

Is there an animated gif of Von Kaiser from Punch Out!!! when you hit him in the face and his mouth just opens and closes?
