Wait, VA for confirmed for BOTW?! (On media blackout since before the TGA trailer but curious about this at least!)
There's some, at least in the E3 trailer. I don't think we know how much there will be in the game.

Actually the US get their own Spanish and French translation also.

Most likely important dialogue only. We've only heard one voice, and that's at the beginning of the game.
very different as at the time they released two very japanese games in different markets to test the appeal.
Europe got "Doshin the Giant" and the US got "Animal Crossing". Doshin never made it back to the US because it flopped hard.
i do in fact own every copy of PAL Doshin the Giant there is (as far as i know).
If it's not complete for EU what do the people that are upset suggest as an alternative?
Delay the rest of the world and miss launch?
I thought NoE was better than NoA? Remember those JRPG's they brought over before NoA even bothered?
Seems hard to believe.
lolNintendo - consistently snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

Yes, lets speed up Brexit for Zelda. Something good needs to come of it.Can't the UK just have it while the rest wait?
I can accept poor spelling.
lol
Seriously, it will be fun if they can somehow botch Zelda
It's not really complicated to me. Yes, I think region locking is enough of a detriment in the modern day that I have no interest in ever supporting another console that does it. I don't care if it's Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo that tries it, nostalgia isn't going to win me over.

You're creating a bullshit narrative of disinterest for me.I don't know why you're reducing people interest in these games down to nostalgia. People want to play games. Nintendo makes good games. It's as simple a that. Region locking isn't a hot-button issue for most gamers, and while I agree that it should be a feature, I think you're projecting your lack of interest into other people and their priorities.
Possibly. Missing the entirety of the EU region would be a colossal failure and a terrible piece of optics. If it's not complete for EU what do the people that are upset suggest as an alternative?

The problem here is Nintendo planning. Even SE made FFXV a WW launch, ton of 3rd party games launch with multiple languages not to mention there won't be a ton of voice acting in a Zelda game. If EU gets Zelda late like more than a month that's a big fuck up by Nintendo.
Now I don't like the idea of Europe getting Zelda later but those other publishers generally aren't worrying about launching with a console.
Well if the console is region free and you want to play day 1 just import.
I don't get it really, I mean don't they localize all the languages at the same time? It takes more man-hours surely, but they should be able to finish all the translations parallell to each other.

I'm very interested. I'm also very interested in seeing companies pony up and act like it's the 21st century. If that's not your priority and you're okay with companies adopting shitty, out of date practices, that's your problem. My question has to do with how many people who claim to care about region locking really actually would care if the chips are down and they're not what we wanted.
Possibly. Missing the entirety of the EU region would be a colossal failure and a terrible piece of optics.
Knack had a finnish dub on release, step your game up Nintendo!
Maybe Europe should be united under the benevolent dictatorship of Vladimir Putin and everything can be localized into Russian. Problem solved.
Surely that's a bad example considering the delays it underwent?

So you're not actually that interested in ending region locking. That's fine. For some people certain issues take precedence. Should I put up with always online games if I "just want to play a game"? Should I put up with poor localization "just to play games"? Should I put up with region locking "just to play games"?But you're creating a false dichotomy between my interest in playing Switch games and my desire for region-locking to end. They're not mutually exclusive. But it should be no surprise that ultimately the games themselves are the main incentive for people. Im all for making a cause against region-locking. But suggesting that it's so dire of an issue that we should boycott a system that we have a lot of investment is simply unrealistic. And I think it's unfair to say that nostalgia is the driving factor. No, people just want to play games.
A little bird. What does that mean lolA little bird told me that the game containsa cutscenes called "Zelda's Memories", or something like that. The game has quite a lot of voice acting (as well as a lot of quests).
