This game is way more soulless than I had initially hoped it would be. The aesthetic doesn't feel particularly strong - it borrows visual elements from other titles but it doesn't end up doing any of them well. The gunplay feels weak and disconnected, the hunters' skills are woefully OP to start and then woefully underpowered once the creature hits stage 3. I get that they want that element, but it just doesn't make for a compelling play experience. Way too often there's just a giant cat and mouse game of hoping the creature fucks up or someone accidentally stumbles across it. The hunt should be far more active.
In my personal experience, the harpoon traps and Daisy were both equally utterly useless. The traps never seemed to hold the creature for longer than a second, and Daisy would get stuck on geometry or fail to gain the track of the creature, let alone when there were multiple people downed on the field. Character progression is stuck behind awful grind-bars and is, to be quite honest, too forced. The entire leveling system should be scrapped in favor of letting players customize their loadouts more.
I only ever played with friends, and while we had a few excellent rounds that were evenly matched, the general attitude among us all became one of indifference. This game has problems, and I don't think they're going to uproot everything that needs to be weeded out before launch.
