There is only ONE NCIS, which BTW is an AWESOME show.

Gibbs would eat LL and Chris for lunch.
My roommate watches re-runs all the time. It's one of the worst shows on TV. In fairness, though, I say that every time I watch something on broadcast TV.

There is also the new Ed O Neill show, Modern Family, which looks great:

I will be watching V, Flash Forward, NCIS LA (i like the original, but the pilot for the new one didn't inspire much confidence) and maybe Community.

this looks like one of those shows that turn into shit after five episodes

like Heroes, basically

Apparently they are shooting for a 13 episode mini-series. Let's pray that they stick to that and not extending it any further.

Edit: I missed this one:

Three Rivers
Premieres 4th of October, CBS

Cast: Alex O'Loughlin, Daniel Henney, Alfre Woodard

Three Rivers is an upcoming 2009 drama, set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at a hospital specializing in transplants, with Alex O'Loughlin starring as a famous transplant surgeon.

I can't stand CSI and it's spinoffs, but I like NCIS. Law and Order shows are also usually good in small does, but NCIS is great. Cast plays so well off each other.

Pretty much this. I HATE CSI and Law & Order, but NCIS is a different show.

The problem with those other shows is that it's all about the plot of the week. The characters don't even have personalities, they're just placed in the middle of a situation for 42 minutes.

NCIS at least has characters people like.

I'll probably try all of them for a few episodes except NCIS. ABC's new shows look the most promising, the CW's look the most meh. Community and Glee also look okay; Prisoner looks great.

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.
I'll be watching Community, V and Flashforward

But Also...

Stargate Universe
Premires 2nd of October, Scifi (Syfy ugh)

2j0nxoh.jpg

Cast: Robert Carlyle, Justin Louis, David Blue, Brian J. Smith, Jamil Walker Smith, Alaina Huffman, Elyse Levesque, Ming-Na, Diamond Lou Philips, Christopher McDonald

Third series in the Stargate franchise. Set aboard an Ancient space ship on the other side of the Universe that's set on a predetermined course. It's old, the ship is falling apart and there is no way to get home, wait too long and you'll get left behind. A darker and story arc'd Stargate

Flashforward, V, and Community.

Expecting good things from community, hoping that Flashforward and V are decent.

TNT did a hospital drama centering on transplants not that long ago that bombed. Morena Baccarin was in it. I think it was called Heartland.

1. Melrose Place
Can tv get any worse than this, a wannabe soap opera.

2. Glee
Looks somewhat interesting, doubt I'll watch it.

3. The Vampire Diaries
Ugh

4. Community
Has potential, bonus points for having Chevy Chase.

5. NCIS: Los Angeles
Oh great, another one of these shows. /sarcasm

6. Eastwick
Ugh

7. FlashForward
I won't call it total crap just yet, I'll say 99.9% chance of it being crap.

8. V
V doesn't mean much to me so I couldn't care less about this show.

9. Modern Family & Hank
I'll check them both out but I don't have very high hopes, especially for Hank which looks to be horrible from the preview.

Yes, it's called "Reality show" (see "Big Brother", "Moar to Love", etc). Melrose Place WAS/IS a soap opera and a trashy one at that. It never pretends to be anything else.

2. Glee
Looks somewhat interesting, doubt I'll watch it.

7. FlashForward

8. V
V doesn't mean much to me so I couldn't care less about this show.

You should at least try to give these three a chance first.

I'll give V, FlashForward and Community a few episodes to see how they are.

Tim Goodman made fun of the new CW shows today in his column.
re: Vampire Diaries said:
"I'm a vampire. This is my story," says a voice-over in the first minute of the show. It's the first anvil dropped on your head, but not nearly the last, as two of the main characters keep diaries and voice-over narration spouts their insipid thoughts and dumbed-down exposition: "Dear Diary: Today will be different. It has to be. I will smile and it will be believable. My smile will say, 'I'm fine. Thank you. Yes. Much better.' I will no longer be the girl who lost her parents. I will start fresh. Be someone new. It's the only way I'll make it through." Yes, that's actually dialogue. Yes it gets worse. And no, you will not make it through.

Glee is the only one i'm sure i'll stick with. I'll give V and Flashforward a chance, though i expect the latter to be crap and the former to have a high chance of also being crap. Community also looks like it could be good. The rest don't interest me in the slightest.

Pete Carroll Owns Me
I'll be watching Glee.

If some of these other new shows like V, Flash Forward, and Modern Family get picked up for a second season I figure they'll make good summer viewing.

Might also start watching the new show on USA called white collar since it stars Jonesy from Carnivale and USA has been putting out some fun shows lately.

I will at least start watching:

Glee - because I am the gayest straight man in the world, work in musical theatre, and loved the pilot.
The Vampire Diaries - I'm hoping this will be gloriously awful.
Eastwick - likewise, and I have a vested interest in this show doing well.
Flash Forward - sounds awesome.
V - again, sounds awesome, and I love the clips I've seen.
Modern Family - advance buzz is very good on this show, and I want Jesse Tyler Ferguson to be in a successful comedy.
Cougar Town - again, surprisingly good advance buzz.

Plus continuing with old favourites:

How I Met Your Mother - it's not THAT funny, but it's surprisingly clever
Castle - Stana Katic is fit (and a good actress), and Nathan Fillion cracks me up even if he is pulling ridiculous schtick
30 Rock - I ALWAYS want to go to there; I feel like the show's only just hitting its stride even now
Fringe - looooooove Agent Dunn and her monotone awesomeness, best cult show in a while
Dollhouse - kinda hope they don't go too far down the Epitaph One route, since they've already told most of that story now, but looking forward to seeing what they come up with

And for midseason:
Better Off Ted in undoubtedly its last season, but what a great show it will have been.
Leverage (about to go on hiatus) which is just awesome, although fingers crossed the loss of Sophie while she's off being pregnant won't hurt the show too much
Psych (undoubtedly about to go on hiatus because USA scheduling is kerazzy) for being the perfect show to unwind with

Dan

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
I'll give V and Community a try. Flash Forward's premise doesn't interest me in the least.

You laugh, but he scored a franchised police procedural on CBS. That probably means a few years to a decade of work and probably ending up quite comfortable for the rest of his life.

I certainly won't be watching it, but there's clearly a very significant chunk of people that will watch any and all procedurals on CBS.
