Fallout 4 Important Release Info ( PC Sys Requirements and more)

Immediately. There were thousands of mods over at Nexusmods by the time the Creation Kit was released (granted it was mostly early texture replacers and other such tweaks you could do without the proper tools, but still!). There's still ~3400 mod releases now on Skyrim Nexus that were last updated before 7th Feb 2012, when CS got released. And that figure excludes any mod that was released before the CS, but was updated after its release, or was removed from nexusmods for whatever reason.

Pretty quickly, days even if memory serves me right. .Ini edits immediately.

The very first mods being mostly texture mods sounds about right. Do we have a time frame of when the equivalent of Creation Kit will be released? Could have sworn reading January?

My 660 TI is still handling everything I've thrown at it so far this gen; Metal Gear 5 specifically looks and runs great and has nearly the same recommended requirements as Fallout 4).

I don't run stuff above 1080p and I almost always bump certain graphical effects down that I don't like (motion blur for example).

I didn't try MGSV, but the Witcher 3 and Mad Max run just fine with it. I just need more RAM. I used this for my laptop: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner

I have an i7 motherboard, so just a few more upgrades and I should be good. I got my 660 Ti around 2012 or so. It's not bad, but I feel like they're just making games go beyond it. That about happened with my 280 I got built with it.

I also got the Link and Steam controller for F4 too. Which should be on its way before November.

I'm not sure my old rig will cut it here. The CPU was a poor choice on my part years ago. Alas I didn't want to support Intel....

A8-3870k @ 3.6GHz
8 GB RAM
Radeon HD 7950 3 GB

Maybe I should just go for the PS4 version for now.

Does Intel actively discourage publisher's from aknowledging that Core i3 handles the vast majority of games very well (if paired with a solid GPU) thanks to HT? It does a disservice which could reinforce the notion that PC gaming requires $1000+ builds to join the game.

I keep waiting
dreading
for a last minute delay

My i5-4670K and 970 GTX is ready.

Been using mods on Bethesda games for ages but this is the time I think I actually will make some mods of my own.

It'll be the last Hurrah for my GTX680, but I should be okay. This should suffice until I look about upgrading for VR.

Not "very well" I don't think. Minimum fps may be an issue for this gen.

Yes up to 3.6ghz, 80% and above utilization D:

I am only limited in one game trying to hit minimum 60 fps with my i7 930 @ 4.2 Ghz. Odd.

I mostly see CPU limits when aiming for 120 fps. But most modern games are threaded enough so even that can be possible!

Glad to see I'm not the only one on the fence with their 770 finally. I just really don't know whether to make the jump to a 980ti or the more affordable 970. As I mentioned in the PC part thread, I've been on an upgrade pace of around every 2 years for ~$300 cards, but my 770 I've had for less time.

I jumped from a 770 to a 970 recently. It's worth it if you can sell your used 770 for a reasonable amount

BF4 swung wildly between 38 to 120, slightly less so after mantle, fun times. Also I used to play poorly-threaded games like Starcraft 2 and WoW, the CPU got destroyed.

That explains it. Blizzard games are terribly unoptimized for multi-core (which is so fucked up since they are basically PC only games that last for decades).

edit: your BF4 CPU performance is odd. Perhaps it was an AMD driver issue? (I have been on NV)

Weird, I have a 6300 and BF4 never dipped as far as 38 FPS. Haven't even OC'd it yet.

Whilst it doesn't affect me personally I really don't like them segmenting languages/subtitles with different versions. Why can't they just include all language and subtitles with all versions ? What's the reason for splitting them ? I mean this is PC afterall, you'd think they'd let anyone choose a mix of language ands subtitles they want. I mean, I know this is absolutely nothing knew, just something that never makes sense to me (or maybe it's something obvious I am missing!)

I have a feeling this is going to be a shit show. Don't ask me to support it with evidence. I'm just saying, gut feeling, there's going to be a shit storm once this comes out.

Everything I've seen so far screams uninspired rush job.

I see no reason why a game that looks like this should have requirements that high.

I have a feeling you're off base, based on the game's incredibly lengthy development cycle, the content of dev interviews detailing how they've pored over every aspect of the game, and the stated intentions of the team to meaningfully surpass what they've accomplished in past games.

And at any rate, while I can't blame you for expecting a buggy game, I am truly lost as to where you're seeing an uninspired game, and especially a 'rush job', from Fallout 4.

Well good for you.

Ya corroborated with another guy with 4ghz teamgreen. High utilization.

Patch version could be the debatable part.

Just find it odd considering I'm fairly sure your CPU has a higher instruction per clock rate than mine.

I guess it'll be Witcher 3 all over again for me.
Maximum settings at 30fps for Fallout 4. I'd take IQ over 60fps anytime, even more so on a RPGs like this.

My gut is telling me the complete opposite of this. I feel like this will be their smoothest launch yet and the game will be their best in a while. They haven't shown much but things like how crazy thorough they've been with the voice acting makes me feel like they've really stepped things up a notch this time.

But my gut is also very hungry.

Seems so.

Sigh. And here I'll be waiting until UPS delivers the game on the 10th, probably at 6pm, if I'm lucky to get it that day at all. Usually I can be patient for a game to arrive, but not this one. Unfortunately had to do online this time because of that pipboy edition. Now I'll be forced with the hard choice of visiting gaf while others play the game and post or trying to pass the time another way.

Consensus seems to agree my OC'd i7 930 (3.8) will do fine, hopefully my near-minimum 7950 can hold its own, too!

I seriously can't even remember when I bought this 930, but it has certainly been worth every penny.

Little worried that the i7 4790 I just bought for the new rig I'm building isn't above recommended. I don't want to have to be rebuilding within the next few years, or be minimum specs.

You are more than fine

So South America gets portuguese text but that same text is not available in Portugal? Seriously, that's like having english in the US version and only french/spanish/german in the UK.

I have my doubts that the language restrictions will apply to the PC version since the language that is downloaded along with the game data is dictated by the language the Steam client is set to and the others are alternatives that will only be downloaded if you switch languages using the properties window, so it makes no sense to restrict options.
