So much hhhhype! I have watched too much stream of it, i'm ready!

Man, I am so hyped. I need to take a day off I think and play the hell out of this game. Definitely going for the PC version, since I think it'll run better than on my XB1.

Nope, you will be just fine playing Fallout 4 as your first game. Of course you might miss out on references from previous games but nothing major. Just load it up and have fun.

The game's strength is exploration and going off the beaten path, so don't only focus on the main story and play the game just for that, it's not even part of the core experience judging by past Fallout games. You can play the game in any way you want though so if you do just want to play it linearly that's fine too.

In terms of story, there is no direct continuity between the game regarding stories, if you've played the other games you may come across references to some things but it's not important, just "ah, that's cool" type of references if you notice them.

thanks! i'll be sure to pick this up as soon as I finish the Uncharted Collection!

If it's anything like Fallout 3 then don't open any drawer and never look inside trashcans etc for items... you won't be able to stop this behaviour for the rest of the game and it will become the activity you spend the most time with by far.
I do that in most games already, haha.

With my interest in Destiny currently waning I have high hopes for fallout.

I've always enjoyed their post-apocalyptic atmosphere more than others for some reason.

At least here with 4, all that junk can go towards building things! Buffout and my companion have helped carry a ton of stuff.

C'mon Kinguin. Where's my fucking code. Ordered it weeks ago, still haven't received it...

Friend ordered it last week, received the code on Saturday...

With Kinguin, you should never expect to get the code earlier than the actual release day.

If you want to get keys for games you can VPN early, you should go with GMG or cdkeys.com

Nice OT, I hope we have another thread for the graphics because the previous gold one had almost nothing of it and felt good that there was actual discussion.

I got this in Saturday, so I have to ask other people playing this:

Is it just me, or is the game really hard? Game seems harder on normal than other games I've tried, but I'm not an expert so I went down to the Easy level.
Secondly, does anyone else thing that settlement building stuff is a burden, particularly since I run out of storage space on my so quickly, having to dump stuff I really need. I've seen you can store in various places around the game, does those items show up in the workshop later?

Won't I miss a lot of stuff including ammunition if I don't do that?

Had so much fun with fallout 3 and wish I had played new Vegas. Can't wait to get lost in this world. One of the first games I played where your character skills really matter.

Not really spoilers, but just in case:

I've played on Hard and Normal. Definitely ramps up pretty hard after that first mission out of the Vault.

I find myself running out if ammo quite often.

Settlement stuff is a good time once you get multiple settlements and unlock the Local Leader perk which allows you to set supply routes between them. I have 8 settlements, all connected back to Sanctuary so I can dump all the junk I pickup into any of those workshops and be able to push it to where I need it.

I read somewhere that subtitles on the PS4 version are broken - is this a wide spread problem for people or just an instance?
