Level 41, still haven't been to Diamond City. Still only done 30 quests in all and still exploring.

I'm creeping up on lvl 20 now and at 50 or so hours. I'm going to have to up the difficulty soon too.
Still haven't been to Diamond City either but I will soon.
All these PC mods make me want to bump up my PC upgrade to summer...

59 hours and I'm still nowhere near done with the main quest. Also made my character wear Cait's default outfit, turns out it looks pretty good on her. Game is still tough on Hard, thankfully, even though I can kill most enemies with a few .45 rounds using my Combat Rifle.

The institute does actually send synths out all the time. And they murder people and replace them with synths. You can actually see this happen at one point.
And the institute happy erases the memories of the gen 3 synths, both gen 2's and 3's are sentient, even capable of dreaming. Only gen ones are mere robots
That said, the Railroad's final part
goes too far. They blow up the institutes reactor, killing many innocents and irradiating the wasteland with lethal levels to save a few synths, many of whom were happy with their lot.
I ended up with
the Institute. Hey a nice clean room for myself, my "family" there and clean food is all I can ask for. I figured, if I can stay there and be an important part in their staff, I can make a positive impact on the world - far more than by joining any of the other factions. Like telling the world what the institute is all about, not enemies, misunderstanding, make them change the human look of the synth etc. I have no problem erasing the memories. I dunno, they are robots to me first and foremost.

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Alright, I have determined that MacCready's head shot perk is broken. Since I got it I'm getting 95% hit chance on enemies even if they're SUPER far away or behind cover. I mean my two shot rifle and jet pack already kind of broke the game, but this is like legitimate cheating. This has to be a bug, right?

Yeah, I saw someone else post this. Even tested it by being at sniper range with a minigun and still having 95% for the head.

Has this happened to anyone else? It happens when I crouch in first person. Just randomly started happening.

edit: nvm figured it out! I jumped in a boiling lava thing in a steel refinery place with god mode on and it added an unnamed object on me and equipped it. Had to go into console and look through my inventory that way to see it and remove it.

Welp, I just lost 2 hours of progress due to a companion bug.

If anyone has an idea on how to fix this (I'm playing on Xbox One)

SPOILERS:
I want to work against the Institute, but I've been using X6-88 as a companion because I like how he looks. If you bring X6-88 to Railroad HQ, the Railroad will turn on you, so I make sure to leave X6-88 somewhere else when visiting the Railroad. However, now X6-88 won't stop following me, even if I dismiss him or take another companion. So now I can never visit Railroad HQ and finish their quest line! I can't kill him or anything because he's still considered friendly by the game.

I'm at the part where
you have to pick a faction to enter the institute
. How much do I have left?

Wait,
like you need to build the portal thing? If so, you've got some ways to go before finishing the main quest, I'd say you;re maybe half-way through.

so i got into the institute and I'm noticing its like the game is forcing me to side with the brotherhood of steel, I met the doctor that they want me to bring back and theres like no option for me to just say fuck the BoS, all options are basically to bring her back to them. Also I got the info thingie and I got to give it to the BoS, I don't want to... They're dicks. Hell, I didn't even want to build the damn teleporting machine with them, I was just happening to be doing faction quests and when I finished one it all of a sudden locked me with them. Am I going to be stuck with these dickheads for the rest of the game or what?
Cmon guys, I just wanna know if i already passed the point of no return or not? 😕

Also where is this super mutant companion that i hear of? 50 hrs into the game and i never seen this guy(or cait). Amazing.

is it safe buying off GreenmanGaming? I know they had issues with Battlefront and some other publishers but has Fallout 4 been okay?

Man the main plot feels so forced. It's Fallout 3 levels of dumb. Well can't say I'm invested in the story, so I will just finish it at this point without getting angry at it.

GreenmanGaming store pages now list where they get their keys from. The Fallout 4 page says they get keys directly from Bethesda so you shouldn't have any issues.

Well I just beat the game, dinged level 50 with the final quest EXP. 76 hours, 41/50 achievements unlocked.

Gotta go back and do the other faction endings, but man, the
Institute
ending was lame as fuck.

Overall, it was a great game. Lots of bugs, and errors (including one that is gunna cost me another 10hrs to go back and fix on another playthrough) but a solid 8/10. Felt way too similar to FO3/NV in terms of almost everything, and the dialogue was a shit show. It's my 2nd favourite Fallout - after 2 - now though.

GOTY? No where near Witcher 3 for me, but easily the 2nd best game I've played in 2015. Looking forward to picking up MGSV on Black Friday and working out my top 3.

And then when you do establish a settlement, you'll find another place that's even cooler and move there.

At least that's my problem :p

I've started building a brand new settlement at the Drive In, one that'll replace Sanctuary and all its whiny useless forced-upon-you characters, so I know the feeling. All the un-replaceable buildings at Sanctuary kinda peeved me in the end.

I also just had my first really big attack on a settlement I worked on - Boathouse had a large squad of super mutants attack, including one with a rocket launcher that kept one shoting me 1 second after my quicksave load spot. That was fun.

In Boston in alternate universe 2278 complaints, I'm a little annoyed about the Freedom Trail - the real one ends at Bunker Hill Monument, not the North End. Grr.

yup using it woot woot!

for the light boxes, do you have to connect a cable to each individual little box or will a pylon work for group?

Not sure what you mean by light boxes. But if you set a pylon connected to a generator any light you attach to any surface in the vicinity of that pylon will be powered.

Got a notification about defending a settlement. Go there, settler gets shot to pieces by the others because it turns out he's
a synth
. Then nothing else happens, and the quest stays active. Happen to anyone else?

Yeah.. unfortunately it happens for every
synth
attack. If you're on PC you can use the console and type resurrect, then kill the
synth
again and that should trigger the quest completion.

I read that you can go hostile with factions (some give you a warning and some don't) but is there a set order to do everything (quests) in one playthrough?

Oh man, I currently have the best time I playing Fallout EVER. Reminds me a lot about how I cheesed NV's Deathclaw mine. Have screens, will tell the tale later. :D SOOOO GOOD.

Another question about Nick:

The quest to rescue him, wher you go down to the vault, is there another way to solve that, another then run in tackle all the enemies? It cost me quite a lot of ammo and stim packs with my character? Is there some shortcut, or extra help you can find?
This is a Bethesda game, of course there's no shortcut except for that convenient shortcut to the beginning of the dungeon/vault/house.

Damn it, why is the captured footage doesn't include the song currently playing on the radio? It was playing Skeeter Davis "The End of the World" when I'm slaying a group of super mutants in the tower. It was an awesome experience. But when I look at the captured video, the song wasn't there.

I wish I had known that companions have unique quests that give you unique perks before I put points into lone wanderer :/

I wrongly assumed the companions were as shallow as the last game. Guess I'll just have to live without the 30% damage reduction and +100 carrying capacity while I play with them.

fuck past 3am, this building shit is ridiculous. must stop, more tomorow

these.

my first try at building, super work in progress, the ramshackled look of the mansion was on purpose, I like using different walls on each segment. shit aint tidy in the wasteland damn it!

hmmm I should cover the "empty spaces" with turned off lights to cover the generators behind them. needs to much powers its ridiculous, each sqaure needs 1 individually lol

Game won't let me Flirt or Romance any other character after I Romanced Piper, was with Cait and got her first chat sequence, couldn't flirt was locked into basic replies.

That's why I asked because I have Piper as my girlfriend too, but could flirt with Cait and it worked for me.

OMG, this game sometimes. I've been playing this game for 57 hours and took some time to walk around Diamond City. I'd never seen Colonial Taphouse before. I really like their design of this rebuilt city. I wonder if there is a quest here.

I can't fuckin' keep up with the number of people in Sanctuary. Happiness keeps going down and I assume it's because there aren't enough jobs for everyone to be doing.

I have points in agility, I have that sneaking perk and I have the muffled ability on my shoes. I take a couple steps into a building and I hear, "WHAT WAS THAT?!"

Well.. guess I'll keep putting more points into sneak.

Thanks,it felt like they were pushing towards an ending. Now the hardest part remains ,choosing a side.

Man, to anyone who says their isn't good world building in this game.

Mr Zwicky & Miss Edna - If you go in the schoolhouse in Diamond City, you can talk to the teacher and his robot. When you speak to the robot, you can get her to admit that she has a crush on the teacher. The teacher overhears, and you can hear his remarks. If you visit Diamond City again, you will hear the teacher confront the robot about this situation (in the streets, somewhere). Later that night (if you wait in a chair) they will get married. Not a quest or anything. Just an NPC interaction.

Sneak is OP. I'll be standing right in front of dudes and they'll be like "Where did that fucker go"

It is. Combined with Ninja and Sandman for sweet x5.3 Sneak damage. With a particular drug (I only used for the final mission) that becomes x8.3. I one-shoted Skull Legendary Power Armor Bosses. Didn't even shoot at the head or anything. lol

As much as I like this game it's a bit disappointing at how clunky the combat is. Its like Bethesda hasn't learned anything about combat/ai design in ten years.
