Man I really considered buying those when I saw them in some shop. Alas, they were costly and I needed the money for other things.

The Bladed Gauntlets are in fact beastly. They were the first thing I bought from a merchant when I had some caps.

yeah, I have two other companions available too but Boone is the man.

You get the experience for their kills, yes.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds boone to be an unstoppable force of death. You get full XP when he kills something. I let him do the work. I do the talkin'.

Great, thanks. I was already exploring every bit of the wasteland before doing that but i might just advance the main quest a bit.

edit: Oh and ED-E is awesome, thanks for the recommendation :lol

too bad he cant carry armor though (apparently the game recognizes it as if you wanted him to put on the armor, tells you he cant, and drops it), i wanted him to carry every faction's armor to be able to do fast swaps depending on where i am.

Yes but now it's crashing. Seems I need to choose between crashing and horrible slowdown when more than 3 characters are on screen :(

Try entering "toggleemotions" into the console. This'll shut off their faces pretty much. Helped in the beginning for me before the .dll fix.

I've also realized that you gotta buy your guns from gun runners if you want anything decent. Which means you better hit them slots and bet big.

I went an put 200 on Black 17 Roulette. My last 200 chips. Boom. 7000 chips.

Also, the stealth stat is USELESS.

I have had that quest for the past 10 hours :lol
Also, I went to that tool place right outside of New Vegas and on the computers it said changing something about the lucky 32 and found dirt on house, but haven't notice any changes.

How many times did that "last 200" last for you? :lol

Companions can't equip/carry faction armors at all. It's not just an ED-E thing.

Not true. Every companion has pre-set faction armors which can and cannot be equipped. ED-E is special because as a fucking eyebot he can't wear any of them. :lol

Exactly. Boone is an NCR whore. Why wouldn't he want to wear their digs?

I'm about 10 hours in and really considering starting a new game on Very Hard+Hardcore mode on.

Currently playing on Hard and the game is a freaking cake walk.
Boone
is a killing machine. It's ridiculous. He one hit kills enemies I can't even see yet.

I've got 50+ stimpacks, and I rarely lose more than half of my health, even in close quarter firefights. Just seems way too easy.

As for the game itself, I do think that it's a worthy follow-up to Fallout 3. However, I don't think the setting is nearly as engrossing as D.C. was. Maybe it will grow on me (I haven't gotten to the Strip yet, so that might change my opinion as well).

I never put it in stealth either, if I really need something I just pop a stealth boy, boom max stealth.

You are sure you're ducking, right? :p

Only reason I ask is because someone earlier in the thread didn't realize you had to duck to activate sneak.

Dont use Boone if you want the game to be more difficult.

True to an extent. In the Wastelane, Boone is insane (you can outperform him with Ratslayer/AMR, ED-E as a second companion). Inside buildings, however, he can be killed quite easily.

Or if you want the game to have more personality. After rolling around with Boone for several hours and then ditching him and playing a few hours with Cass, I realized the exact problem - Boone felt like a fucking male escort. It's like I paid a pimp somewhere for his services, and he follows me around out of obligation than anything else. He doesn't really say anything funny, nor does he seem to care about my objectives or have any real objectives of his own. It was just so fucking dry and mechanical with him. Hell, ED-E has more personality, and he's A FUCKING EYEBOT! :lol

Guys, does anyone know how to re-spawn a NPC. I killed Chet at the beginning of the game, and I haven't gotten any weapon mods in 20 hours. Is there another person in the game that sells weapon mods?

Well hey, Boone's affiliated with the NCR. Dryness comes with the territory.

No legit way. Possibly a console command to do so. Don't worry, though, tons of mods to be found and bought.

Has anyone managed to do both
Beyond The Beef
and
Pheeble Will
while managing to
expose Mortimer to the rest of the White Gloves? I tried doing it that way but the son bugged out somehow after I dragged him before the crowd after Mortimer made his speech, and after I went back into the main part of the casino, he just stood around complaining about how I took too long to rescue him. His father wouldn't give me any other new options in the conversation, acting as though he was still waiting for news of the rescue. I could kill them both, but then Beyond the Beef failed. I tried again by just killing them both without going through the dinner thing, and I could finish both quests, but then the option to inform Yes-Man that I'd dealt with WGS' cannibalism problem never came up in the quest about dealing with the various Vegas factions.

See, that's the other way I came to the conclusion about the male escort deal. Pretty much every time I deal with the NCR, I'm looking at it from a "what's in for me" perspective. It has worked out very well for me so far, but I have absolutely no desire to have a NCR ranger in my party for extended periods of time. I'm fine with talking to them when they have something to benefit me, but outside of that... business only kthxbye. :lol

Same here. Not a big fan of the NCR. :p So far I've pretty much been doing that sort of thing with the factions I've come across, just doing whatever so it benefits me but not particularly affiliating myself with any of them.

I wish there was a faction made up mostly of Super Mutants. :( I would so join them.

Yes, it is possible if you
complete Pheeble Will by convincing Walter Phebus to go home with a speech check - this counts as a completion of the quest. You can't kill Heck or his son or Beyond The Beef will instantly fail.

I'm starting to get strangely attracted by the Fellowship of the Apocalypse and the Kings right now. There's something about helping to do community work in Freeside which is getting to me. Seems to be a personality crisis for my character at the moment. I think that after wandering such a selfish and conceited wasteland for 20 hours, being pretty self centered and opportunistic myself, my character is actually shocked and humbled that there are individuals out there do strife to actually make life better for others and are actually reasonable about compromise.

God, this is how people end up joining cults isn't it? :lol

Totally agree with this. I think New Vegas does a lot of things better than F3, but I'm just not feeling the setting.

See I'm the opposite, the New Vegas and Mojave setting from what I've played so far is sooo much more appealing to me than the DC wasteland.

This will probably sound bad but I sort of admire the Legion's sheer purity of vision, even if that vision is an utterly reprehensible one. Say what you want about them, but they know what they're all about and have no qualms about it. :lol

I haven't sided with them, and probably won't, but I like having them around in the game just because they're a fairly intriguing bunch. It's interesting to have a faction like that that is so collective and unyielding in their mindset, almost like a hive. A Nazi hive.

I haven't really messed with those two factions you mentioned much yet. I've barely toiled around in New Vegas itself. So much other stuff to do. Fuck this game is huge.

Ended up beating it tonight, not that I'm surprised but the ending made me out to be the antichrist. I did some pretty evil stuff in that playthrough. :lol

Damn I'm in New Vegas and boy have I got a decision to make
do i get the chip for mr.house or do i take over new vegas myself with the chip?

I never felt this in Fallout 3, this is truly a game changing moment and i'm loving it:D
I might just sleep on this...

Is the ending based on stuff you've done throughout the game, or some big final decision?

What did you expect out of Boone? I mean did you pay attention to the guy's fucking life story? I'm surprised he didn't blow his own brains out.

The FotA are definitely the guy's I'm leaning towards the most right now. I just feel like we see eye to eye more than most of the other factions. Not entirely (I'm not always a saint, especially when ghouls are involved) but being a man of Science/Survival we get on pretty well. My first encounter with them was at
HELIOS One
and I definitely agreed with how they wanted that to play out.

I expect a guy who hangs out all day (or night rather) in a dinosaur's mouth to have more of a sense of humor!

Okay I lied. I asked him to join me because he said shooting guys in the head would be fun. :(

This game is great because it makes you exercise, too. About once an hour, you have to get up and turn off your PS3 manually and restart your system.

Spoiling just in case!

Lots of stuff! Even some small quests you do might have an influence on what shows up in the ending. Was pretty cool, was about 10 minutes long of 2 people talking about what happened overall. I'm guessing there is probably 4 major endings in all, then lots of minor stuff.

Glad I made multiple saves so I can check the others out.
