I expect a guy who hangs out all day (or night rather) in a dinosaur's mouth to have more of a sense of humor!

Okay I lied. I asked him to join me because he said shooting guys in the head would be fun. :(

I can't imagine that guy having a sense of humor. What happened to that guy was fucking horrible.

See I'm the opposite, the New Vegas and Mojave setting from what I've played so far is sooo much more appealing to me than the DC wasteland.

I agree. The Mojave just feels "right" to me. I haven't even entered New Vegas yet. Romaing around DC just feels like roaming around Bosnia during wartime or something. New Vegas is just more "Fallout" than Fallout 3 was. I Obsidian is allowed to make Fallout 4 more like 1 & 2 than even New Vegas is (more weird stuff, more humor, more witty dialogue, etc).

Me: You ever take that beret off?

Boone: Nope.

:lol

Which is a lie because he took it off and gave it to you for the quest to recruit him. :p

It's funny because after you complete it, he magically gets his beret back and you still have the other one.

Very true. Sunny is the only one who has stood out as a bit less than adequate.

Magically? When I completed it and talked to him, he wasn't wearing it. He specifically asks for it back during the conversation and puts it on again.

Wtf, does he? I don't remember that convo haha. Either way there's a double of that beret in my game because we're both wearing it. :lol

It's funny going into third-person and seeing two wanderers wearing that same beret.

He gives you a 1st Recon beret as a reward for helping him, but takes his back.

I cannot agree with this. A doctor in one of the NCR camp is super fucking terrible. I was just shaking my head listening to him.

I think he means more of the main cast, not just the people that they needed to fill the roles. That same guy probably does the voices of a lot of randomly generated NPCs, too.

Edit: Unless it's the doctor at Camp Forlorn, which I thought was voiced very well and I think it really the only doctor that can be considered to be in the "main cast" since he gives you some missions and whatnot and doesn't just say HOWDY LEMME FIX U UP PARDNER.

Gah. Where do I find the armor that's on the cover of the game box? I've been searching around the NCR camps for the Rangers that wear them but haven't seen a single one.

Also, as I progress further into the game the load times seem to get longer and the amount of stops/slowdowns is increasing. :\

Strange. I was hated by the Powder Gangers and they normally would shoot me on sight. I walked up to the NCR Jail and they were perfectly cool with me walking around even when I wasn't disguised. I just strolled up to their gang leader and straight up assassinated him and his lackeys. I hope that's not going to hurt me later on, but I doubt it. What's strange is that I get negative karma for stealing from them, but positive karma for killing them...

This game is great because it makes you exercise, too. About once an hour, you have to get up and turn off your PS3 manually and restart your system.
Try reseting your ps3s system data. You won't lose anything. I had two lockups in my first hour, now at eight hours those are still my only two.

I think you're getting negative karma because the stuff you're stealing belongs to the NCR.

That's the black armor for NCR Rangers that is talked about a few hours into the game, I think at Novac by the ranger there with the bum legs.

And it's everywhere near the camps and the Hoover Dam.

Edit: And personally I think Obsidian need to patch in the red glowing eyes at night with special vision perks or something. That shit would look so dope.

About the Hoover Dam...
isn't that just at the end of the game isn't there no continuation after that point? If so getting it there would be kinda moot. :(

You can go there at any point, I think. I'm just past Camp Forlorn and decided to stop by. Haven't hit New Vegas yet.

Camp Forlorn? Hoover Dam? I've never been to any of these places! I think I'll finish up some quests I have from Camp Mccaren and then actually move on into the strip for the first time later.

How far in the main quest am I?
Just killed Benny at the Legion camp.
Kind of want to restart, not feeling my perk/stat selections anymore.

Quest related question.

I'm on the missing at Dinosaur city where you help the guy with the issue regarding his wife. It's asking me to
to search the Dino Dee-lite Lobby, but I can't seem to find it. I searched the front desk area with the shop but it doesn't seem to be right place.

I've been doing actively doing 2 missions for the better part of the last 10 hours.

The Brotherhood mission. That really seems like 4 missions and a side mission squeezed into one. I better get power armor at the end of it.

And then the one where you have to go to the 4 radio stations to give them codes. 2 were easy to get to. The other 2 are WAAAY out in lala land. Took me all night to get to the one in the mountains to the west. Had to go way up north then back down south. Thanks a lot mountains with invisible walls. While they arent as bad as the DC ruins and the subway system, it's still irritating to only be able to get to a place from the least obvious angle.

Totally engrossed though. I love that I can't just wiki something about the game at a moments notice. People havn't found everything, and won't for a while. It's like I'm really exploring uncharted territory! Something I missed out on with Fallout 3.

too bad he cant carry armor though (apparently the game recognizes it as if you wanted him to put on the armor, tells you he cant, and drops it), i wanted him to carry every faction's armor to be able to do fast swaps depending on where i am.

I've put armor in his inventory

Open the safe in the lobby. It's behind the desk.

Stopped by the Strip and just randomly started exploring the White Glove Society. When looking for that one guy's lost
boy
, I talked to the manager and she said there was a time when the White Gloves used to eat
people
.

She never explicitly said if they did or not, so I took it upon myself to Stealth Boy through to the back rooms and do a little exploring.

As I got deeper and deeper into the hotel, shit started getting weirder and weirder.

Like
in the kitchens I caught a glimpse of two guys using flamers to burn something that they had chained to a wall
and then one of the cook/ waiters was all like "Don't bother asking about our masks, that's our little secret." and then I reached this huge dining hall with all of these people just sitting there calling me scum.

I still never found out if they
ate people
or not, but that's what made it so awesome. It gave me hints and let me form theories based on what I saw without ever explicitly telling me.

Man, I've had 3 lockups on Black Mountain. What gives? I actually made it to the top, and boom. Thanks. It's really starting to annoy me.

I'd say I've had to reset my PS3 10 times in 3 days.

How do you reset PS3 system data?

I haven't been to Camp McCarran, yet, haha. But now that you mentioned it, I know I have a few more stops before I head into New Vegas. :D

Forlorn is to the east, I found it before the camp you're at now on the way to Boulder City.

Also, the stealth stat is USELESS.
Sneak has several factors you have to consider. This is how it worked in Fallout 3 (I'm assuming it's working basically the same in New Vegas):

1. If you run while crouching, you'll make lots of noise unless you have Silent Running.
2. Don't keep your pip boy light on, and don't run around with glowing weapons and/or armor.
3. Staying in the dark or sneaking during night will help.
4. Sound matters. A lot.
5. Running in the line of sight will make it way easier for enemies to spot you; even if you have Silent Running.
6. The more weight you're carrying, the more noise your footsteps make. Unless you have Silent Running, obviously.

That makes sense, strange reasoning for a game though.

I also just ran into a another strange moment with my robot friend. I was walking around the casino in Primm when the whole town yelled "Woah!" and all opened fire on him. :lol
He was just minding his own business.

Edit: :lol He's back and he's pissed! He just woke up and started playing his war chime, now he's fighting the entire town.

Stealth is useless? Ninja is one of the best perks in the game. Crit stacking owns just about anything. Crit stacking + save/load abuse = high probability of any and all enemies dying in horrible ways.

I get some CTDs on PC still but it loads back up so fast I can get over it. I'm on the fence about going NCR or Legion. I'm trying to figure out who I can get further with and then kill them both and liberate the smaller tribes. Dunno. Right now I'm kinda rolling with the Kings, Apocalypse and the
Brotherhood of Steel (spoiler?)
. The missions for the spoiler are lame. I do the first three and he's like "do three more of the exact same mission!" and I'm like "fuck".

Need to get to the Strip right now and try and make about $5K at the Blackjack tables. I just found the rifle I've been looking for for a very long time. Finally found a lone trader on the outskirts with it. It's expensive.

Also, how far am I if
I'm asked to go meet Caeser and have to go into Mr. House's Vault. Seems kinda end gamey.
. Hoping I've got plenty left.

Veronica was the first companion I got. She's awesome. Def not trading for Boone. Probably not trading at all until I find something I can't say no to.

Oh, and Black Mountain is bad ass. I don't know if it always does it, but the TOD just seemed too perfect. Everything kinda washed out and it had a completely different look and lighting compared to the other areas. Wished it was much longer.

Oops, time to pay more attention, me.

I think I'm gonna go pick up ED-E, also keep Boone around for a while, and up the difficulty from Hard to Very Hard.

I just use my foot, my PS3 is on a desk right beside me. So really only my left leg is getting a workout.

C'mon dude, you have already edited this post once and still haven't fixed your broken spoiler tags. Fix it.

Well, Fallout: Vegas just completely glitched out on me.

Some of my save files lockup at the loading screen, while others just get the "You have missing DLC" error message.

Sigh... guess I will have to wait for a patch.

I just started and I'm on my way to Nipton and I noticed that when you look at the giant ants from far away, the way they move looks like they're paddling at an angle from the terrain. It looks really bad. They only start moving fine the moment they come after you though.

Damn the
Bottling factory
fucking sucked, some easy add robots and a door which I couldn't find a key for, it was probably behind the very hard door.

Boone is great, but No-Bark steals the show in Novak. I don't think I've ever laughed as much from a game as when I first talked to him for the One for My Baby quest. Fucking comedy gold*!

*I was extremely high last night whilst playing; this may or may not have skewed my humors.
