Has anyone else run into a bug in which you shoot at enemies and they dont go down no matter what? You can also walk through them and they remain motionless sometimes. At other times, only hits to certain body parts register. Sometimes they are highlighted in red with the reticule and sometimes they are highlighted with the "normal" color (I'm using blue).

I also went for several HOURS (real, not game time) with my STR reduced from eating Gecko meat. I've ran into tons of bugs regarding encumberance either lasting for wayyyyyy too long or the effect doesn't kick in at all.
Your best bet is to go to the Bethesda forums where people are listing bugs for each platform.

http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/109-fallout-new-vegas-hardware-and-software-issues/

I have only been following the 360 thread which has identified 59 bugs so far. Shit is ridiculous.

I had a NCR guy give me a radio to call in help if I need it, but I can't find it in my inventory..... Any ideas anyone?

Check the Aid or Misc. section. I'm not at my computer, so I can't check. I do remember being surprised by where they placed it, though.

well, from what I've seen so far it only matters to a single person in the game, I don't know what to do about it now, when I talk to her she says she wants to leave ;_; .
Is there a console command for setting Karma? I want to finish the quest ;_;

Cass will get up and leave New Vegas if you keep pestering her with negative karma. At least she did with me and now is gone forever.

She'll leave if you're bad.

I hope that update helps the performance.

Also, I have high energy weapons skill. I notice I am getting more Energy ammunition at the beginning this time.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a glitch with the Beyond the Beef sidequest.

I managed to find and return Heck Gundersons son through the various speech options and the quest is completed according to the journal. Curious to see what the repercussions might have been for Mortimer I went back and he's asking me about our arrangement once again, when only moments ago he was swearing he'd have me filleted. I'm wondering if not visiting the other investigator has any effect as I was able to completely bypass him by lying about being a cannibal.

Interesting sidequest despite the glitch. It certainly seems open to a whole variety of paths.
With that quest
I did visit the investigator and was able to proceed on the quest from thee. One of the options with speaking to Mortimer though, was the option to give my companion to him for the cannibal dinner, instead of using Gundersons son. I was so close to offering Boone up for dinner.....

I think I know exactly the spot you're talking about. There are two tents side by side. One of them has the Lt. dude or whatever and the other has some loot. The only time that spot gave me problems was when I tried to steal the loot and after stealing it I would try to repair it. After repairing it the game would crash. I got past that by repairing the loot slower. That actually worked. Yeah, that bit and the disappearing sniper rifle on Boone (which eventually worked itself out anyway) are the only bits of trouble I've had. Think I'm nearing endgame too.

Yeah the NCR armor. I heard about that bug so I didn't even try to grab it.

I think Karma system is completely broken. There are just bad deeds in the game, I can't remember doing something that gave me good karma so far and if it was it must be very few instances, on the other hand you get bad karma for say, looting a legion base where you already killed everybody in there because the game think you're stealing, I'm stealing from the enemy you fool!
I can't find any activity right now that should give me good karma

Same here. I'm sure it's been beaten to death, but stealing from 'bad people' and getting negative Karma is incredibly stupid. I went apeshit at the NCR Prison stealing shit like tin cans and whatnot. It's be a bummer to have that come back to bite me in the ass.

Is it possible to do that quest at the prison if I'm hated by powder gangers? Or is their anyway to improve my relation with them so that I could?

Kill some Powder Gangers or Fiends, that nets Good Karma.

has anyone chosen to fight against the NCR in their playthrough? if so how difficult did it make the game for you? NCR seem to be in abundance throughout the wasteland, even moreso when compared to other factions.

I'm not sure, but I get the feeling it will? If you get the deputy away from the other convicts in actual Primm proper (presumably even if he dies), the game will tell you to find a new sheriff. You'll then have the option of telling the sheriff at NCR penitentiary to leave and head to Primm, if you want him to take over there. I'm pretty sure if he's there when the NCR comes storming in, he's done for.

First you have to kill one. :lol
If you put on a dead Powder Ganger's looted outfit, you'll be disguised as them and can enter the prison without being recognized. You can accept quests from them this way, so long as you continue to wear the clothing while inside the prison.

Just wrapped up: Thoughts:

as above, from my play session last night, high level made it seem like I was rapidly doing a bunch of quests, fast travel here, there.. and killing things left right so its not surprising that my last hour and a half felt the same way. Had a lot of fun, mid game when it was exploration and it was a challenge.

Final Act
I went with house and killed the BOS and eventually bugged the dam and also killed the legates + oliver. The lead up to all this felt like it lacked something vital as others have descibed, it was a bit of a WTF ending.Basically it was kill everything, and most of it was legates til the very end.

The fact that it then concluded with an ending that covered most of the places/characters you've seen almost via bullet point made the ending really weak to me. Wasn't sure how I felt at having narrators other than perlman in the ending

also seeing how I went with house, I never really thought the way the story was told made him seem like a personality that you'd want to run with - even though he was very central to this storyline - what with the platinum chip as an anchor for FONV.

war never changes. I do wish the game ended in a more impactful and meaningful way. I think narrative wise, Fallout 3 was much much better. Especially the search for water/father made it seemed much more vital in its nature. This one rung a bit hollow at the end, mostly because your protagnist really didn't seem to have a driving reason to be doing a lot of the stuff he chose to do in the end.

add:

considering this game is about choice. and that end game..
there really wasn't very much choice here. At the end it was you-yesman/house or the NCR. There wasn't way to save the Khans or the brotherhood. Sure I could have left them alone but it would have been so much better if you could have told the brotherhood guys that house wants to blow you up, I want you to break seclusion, come into the real world..etc. But the choice simply wasn't there.

There wasn't a way to help the wasteland in an altrusitic manner, no fellowship of the apolcaplyse ending that would have propelled that to the forefront. No involvement of the jacobtown mutants. The game was wide open til the end and then it really closed down to hooverdamn, and the 3 factions - house/legion/NCR.

You can save the khans and brotherhood, atleast in my NCR playthrough anyway

Is Camp Forlorn Hope giving anybody else fits? I can't walk around the outskirts of this town without the game locking up (PS3 version), it's fucking ridiculous. This game has frozen on me more times than every other game I've ever played combined.

I was just doing this quest last night, And must have ran into a bug or something. I put on the gangs uniform and talked to the guard on the gate. I gave him the 100 caps he wanted to look the other way, But he would always attack me about 2 seconds later as I approached the door. I just gave up in the end. I had thought I was doing something wrong, But I guess not

Yeah, possibly a bug. Is it possible you were wearing the Powder Ganger uniform at any time when you attacked some of them? Or check the status in parentheses underneath the name of the prison on your Pip Boy map when you're wearing the outfit. It should change from "shunned" or whatever it normally is to "neutral" when you're wearing the Powder Ganger clothing. And obviously the game will tell you that you're now disguised as a Powder Ganger. Maybe it's a specific type of clothing if neither of those have triggered? I did it with the Powder Ganger Guard Uniform, because it's the highest defense of the ones I've tried out so far.

Stallion Free said:

No problem. Just know that when you're in Primm itself
they're a different gang of convicts there, so they will still shoot at you even if you're wearing the Powder Ganger outfit.

vanished just when I was going to to do the first objective in her quest.
The game kind of bugged out and the screen went real dark just outside of the bunker, is it supposed to do that?/is her disappearance quest related?

When I try and recruit other characters, they still think she's in my party :S

I have a question for those who have reached max level or gotten very close:

How much of the wasteland have you explored? How many hours have you played? What level are you? I want to do every single sidequest if I can, and explore every location, all in a single playthrough. What I want to know is if I'll hit the exp ceiling long before I finish, because if so, I'll want to use a "less exp" mod.

Me and Raul went to Gamohra for a good time, I hired a whore, she lead us to her room, I banged her, and the morning after.. Raul is gone? :lol Did I break his feelings? Did something go horribly wrong once the lights went off? The whore was silent, so i just left the room, but I have no idea where Raul went! I miss his random quips and the fucker did run off with a bunch of expensive weapons.

WHERE IS RAUL? I like to imagine that he's doing jets with a ghoulette somewhere.

For people who have finshed the game, I'm wondering how close I am/ can be to finalizing this playthrough so I can start a new character.

I just got the mission to
kill the Khans
from the lady at the Hoover Dam. I want to
side with the NCR the rest of the way.
Whats the quickest way to get to the end game?

Stayed up till 3 am playing this game again. Working my way south through what the strategy guide calls the Zone 4 area and finally got that flying robot companion. So far this companion feels like a burden. Is there a "Don't attack, just follow only" command? This thing has a huge agroo range and sometimes I'm walking and then when I turn around it's gone or I get a message that it's dead. Is this typical behavior of other companions too?

Also, for the La Femme perk, how often is it used in terms of conversation? For those of you that have it, was it worth it?

Afaik, the only setting would be Passive. However, if you actually talk to the companion (not ED-E since he just beeps) it seems that Passive is that they wont attack first but they will attack if an enemy initiates combat (if someone sees you while in stealth and message goes DANGER for example) or if you fire first. Aggressive just means they initiate combat with anyone that is red on the compass regardless of whether they see you or not.

You will definitely be level 30 way before you're done. I'm at level 17, haven't entered Vegas and I still got a lot of quests outside of Vegas. I explore a LOT. If I see a triangle that isn't filled I will go that way. Only enemies that are too hard for me to kill, can stop me from reaching that triangle.

I feel that you gain XP too fast, but I guess they have it like that so that the people who don't want to explore much still has a chance to get to level 30. They could at least have given you less XP for killing stuff. 50XP for a kill is definitely too much.

I couldn't resist, I started a new character--a melee specialist:

9 STR
4 PER
9 END
1 CHR
6 INT
5 AGI
6 LCK

Heavy-Handed
Four Eyes (I love glasses, don't care about the penalty)

Decided against a sneak-ninja build; no unarmed; took Melee, Medicine, and Science. Confirmed Bachelor as the first perk. I won't be taking Finesse/Better Criticals/etc until later, instead going for perks like Toughness and Stonewall to boost my DT and my health. A tank-build. Heavy-Handed sounded like a bad idea until someone did the math and found that melee benefits more from it than unarmed, and besides, the best melee weapons either don't crit hard or don't crit at all.

Playing on Very Hard/Hardcore right now, it's really efficient. Murdering fools left and right. I have medicine but I've barely used any stimpacks--I have about seventy right now. Skipped past
Come Fly With Me
thanks to Confirmed Bachelor, heading to the casinos to do the quests for The King, which I never got around to doing last time.

Guys, great news! After adventuring for a few hours with Arcade, clearing up some quests and meeting Ceaser and all... guess what happened? I returned to the Lucky 38 and BAM, ED-E is right there! Little bastard found his way home after all! :lol

I'm at the end game now, and I'm pretty damn happy with how things are turning out. Pretty much all going according to plan... MY plan. :D

A question about Arcade's companion quest though:
I just beat it, and at the end of it I convinced him to fight with his allies. He leaves the party (saddling me with ALL THE CRAP I DUMPED ON HIM) and as I leave the bunker (CRAWLING BIT BY BIT BECAUSE I'M SO OVERBURDENED THAT EVEN ED-E CAN'T CARRY ANYMORE AND I'M STILL CARRYING TOO MUCH) he appears with his father's Power Armor. I couldn't get him to rejoin and he rushed back into the bunker. So I went back in (CRAWLING BIT BY BIT) and by the time I got to the main room it was locked and I have no key. What!? I had to dump a bunch of useless crap (28 pieces of dog meat! 15 pieces of ant meat! Why the fuck did I have all this shit to begin with?! :lol ) to move normally again, but I'm wondering if this is normal? Does this mean Arcade is going to fight with his friends at Hoover Dam and I won't get him back ever?

Karma isn't really important in New Vegas at all, but there are lots of things which give you good karma. Most of it are linked to dialogue options and quests. Usually when you choose to help for free, or help out of the goodness of your heart, you will get good karma. Also, killing Fiends nets you good karma, so if you want to you can just explore the areas west of Camp Mccaren and kill Fiends all over the area. Each kill nets you good karma for making the world a safer place.

Going into Freeside and doing quests for the Followers of the Apocalypse will also net you a ton of good karma for generally making the world a better place.

I believe so.
I'm pretty sure he's preparing for the Hover Dam fight with the other enclave remnant members. It happened the same way for me, but I've yet to do the dam so I can't confirm. But he's in the room that's locked for me also, after his brief appearance with his fathers armor.

And tell me the old school enclave armor isn't sexy as hell, eh??
