just finished Return to Sender. on the whole not a very remarkable quest, but that ending with chief Hanlon, holy shit. Kris bloody Kristofferson! and whoever wrote his dialogue should write the next Fallout game all by himself.

Sweet, got the perk. Thanks guys. Sniper will be mine at 14. 4K well spent. (really, there doesn't seem to be much else to spend money on in this game).

Also, Combat Knives are worth so much for being a pretty useless item IMO.

Just went through all of the Scorpion Gulch(what a bitch for a level 10 character) only to find that the hidden valley is accessible on the other side. Thinking if I should reload and take the long way or not. All of my flamer fuel along with like 6 stimpaks are gone, lot's of shotgun shells too. There are like 5 giant scorpions in there :lol

You may find some dark dark things there. Be careful.

Just sticking to the most downloaded files probably until I figure out what's what. Specifically though what do you mean, I'm afraid to even ask. :lol

I was praising him a few(lots) of pages back. By far the best moment, speech, quest of the game. The voice casting was godly and that speech was...damn. Highlight, real highlight. Glas to see someone else appreciating it as well.

He is probably referring to the most downloaded file on that site. You probably should only go there while you are using your own computer.

Edit: Oh and don't have anyone looking over your shoulder, like parents, kids, family, friends or any other human being for that matter.

Yeah the end makes it worth it, but it's really too bad the actual quest mechanically is probably the worst in the entire game :lol. Not only that, but it's started by a random NPC that's sitting in a corner, easily missable. I had to look up where the quest was given after seeing it in the trophy list but not running across it.

Is this a known glitch??...I can`t complete Birds of a Feather because I need to talk to Jean Batiste now but he is nowhere to be seen inside that little Silver Rush room with Gloria... :(

Are they in the grave? Because I don't have a shovel :lol
No. Look for a big hole in the ground, kind of like a crater.

:lol Yeah, but there seems to be many little quests started like that too.
Ranger station stuff
did kind of get tedious and I was expecting some fat, pushover army douch at
Camp Golf
. I have never been so happy to be disappointed. :D

Ah, yes, I see what you're referring to now.

What is it? I went there but I'm too lazy to register :lol

I encountered a glitch where Jean Batiste would slowly disappear into the ground as soon as I enter the shop. Rebooting the game fixed this though.

Maybe he went upstairs or in the adjacent room?

still loving the game 38 hours in...

Ha, it only cost 4K for character 1.

My second character it'll cost 8K to get the Sniper perk. Hmmm... 8K. A lot of money, but a perk I like... hmmm.... Predicaments. Another good option at 12 is the Finesse perk, then get Sniper at 14.

The doctor notes that you can only do a certain number of upgrades. Any idea what that number is, and what health has to do with it?

Yeah, the PC version is the version to get.

And yes, I rely on VATS in the PC version. What can I say, I'm a little bitch and use what the game gives me.

I only really use iron sights when the target is either far away, or AP's are low. Or if there are a lot of enemies close by and I'm going fully auto.

Okay, i'm kinda lost in Vault 34 where do I turn to get the Plasma gun?
I have already killed the Overseer.

In the armory, there are some overhead signs pointing to it. I think the
Overseer's officer
has a key or a computer that unlocks it.

I dont' even need the money but god dang Blackjack is addicting. I wonder if there are any luck based special gear in this game (like in FO3) any little thing. HNNNGGG. And I first got to the Strip 50 hours in, huahuahuah.

False alarm on the RROD. It happened 5ish times when retrying over the course of an hour, but booted up this morning (was three lights btw, not two.) My mind would be blown if the crashes can actually cause false RROD.

My console is probably really close to death, but let me pretend

Might actually try and muscle through the main quest line soon, hitting like 60 hours. How many of the achievement/trophy quests are random sidequests, any?

That's how the casinos should have been.

So reading the txt on the populate mod, the whole reason we got empty vegas was because every generic boring npc on screen is hugely graphically intensive. WTF! What a shitty engine. Generic npcs are not supposed to take up much overheard in games.

I'm continuing with the story and ended up in Boulder. After completing the mission and saving the hostages it randomly tells me to go up to the New Vegas area, and the guy who gave me the mission stopped talking to me.

What was supposed to happen? I really have no clue why I'm heading to New Vegas and who I'm looking for now, I think my game glitched out and skipped over a story segment (or I'm somehow missing the person I'm supposed to talk to).

Just realized you run a lot faster when you're not wearing medium/heavy armor. I'm always bareass now except when enemies get close enough to hit me :lol

So whats the verdict on Hardcore?

Worth playing it at all?

Made me actually use food this time around. I really think it enhances the experience, minus one thing. Broken limbs are a pain in the ass for the first 20 hours or so when you don't have many Doctor's Bags. And fast traveling to go to a doc just seems like busy work.

Warning: Spoiler(s) are about deciding what to do with the Chip, so if you haven't found it, you might not want to highlight the text

Is it wrong that I didn't hesitate or feel any remorse for removing Mr H's head with a single blast from my shotgun?

And about the ending

Kudos to Obsidian for including a real "epilogue' and not some crappy slide show like Bethesda did with FO3

ok, it seems like I encountered a bug. During the "Still in the dark quest" I decided
I'd oust McNamara. Completed all the quests and Hardin told me to wait for a few days. McNamara doesn't talk as well. I waited twenty ingame days and still nothing happens. Am i screwed? Any help appreciated :(

Can you get achievements with the PC version like in Fallout 3?

Yup! Steam achievements. They're exactly the same ones you'd earn on a PS360.

Started second run, with a Veronica Fix, slower leveling mod, MTUI, and CONELRAD. I'd like to add Fellout and Sandstorms, but I don't really want to have uber dark nights again.

Already the modding community is churning out some excellent stuff. Kudos.

Yeah this is a lot better on PC. 360 copy is going bye bye. Real quick, what program do you guys use for the .zip files when installing mods (win7 64 here)? I saw a couple possibilities but wanted to ask here.

Because I only used quick saves and auto saves, at one point I had to use the console to try and find my companions.

I quick saved before this point. Once I found where they were I knew I could travel there before I used this console command so I quick loaded this save.

The thing is that it still thought I had console commands activated. I went on to complete the game but at the end I realised I got not achievements for it. A am so annoyed.

Let this be a warning to people who would like achievements.

Does anyone know if the perk Stonewall only works against humans or does it include attacks from creatures such as deathclaws? Currently at lvl 25 and I'm trying to get as much DT from the harder enemies, whilst wearing light armor. Thanks

Never, in any game, ever, rely on quick and auto saves. Always create real saves.

Oh, Red Lucy. Who knew you were a
screamer
?

Of course, I somehow managed to lose ED-E while doing that quest line. A fair trade, I guess. :lol

While I'm still enjoying New Vegas, there are a lot of nagging things that are really starting to bother me. The more I explore, the more I find so few actual characters or interesting places. I realize this is a desert but I was expecting a level of interesting areas and unique characters to at least be on the same level as Fallout 3.

Take the Air Force base, for example. When I arrived there tonight I thought "Wow. This place is big! And look at all these people!" I didn't realize it was going to be a city unto itself. After wandering around for 30 minutes I realize it's just a big empty lot with only five or six buildings you can actually enter (the rest are just fakes). You can't even go up into the traffic control tower. It has no entrance! There are only five or six people you can actually talk to. The rest are just "Boomer" and say exactly the same thing. Yeah, Fallout 3 and Oblivion had nameless characters too but no-where this many. Remember Rivet City in Fallout 3? That place was packed with unique characters. I don't think there were more than two or three randoms. Everyone else was a real character with full dialog trees and quests. New Vegas just doesn't have much of that.

In fact, the air force base in Fallout 3 (Broken Steel) had more interesting areas to explore, and that was just DLC!
