Dead Money featured on Major Nelson podcast (from The Vault, Fallout Wiki)
Microsoft's Major Nelson has interviewed Bethesda's Jason Bergman in his latest podcast. Here's some new info about Dead Money, the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas add-on for the Xbox 360.

- Dead Money is an entirely self-contained quest, totally seperate from the main quest. It has its own opening and ending slideshow.

- It's very difficult and intended for high-level players (from level 20 up). Below level 10 it would be extremely difficult to finish.

- The storyline ties into the Brotherhood of Steel. If you play through Dead Money, it unlocks new dialogue with Veronica. Your conversation with her will unlock a new perk depending on what you do.

- The player is drawn there because they receive a radio signal advertising the grand opening of the Sierra Madre casino.

- You have to assemble a team from three other companions there - a schizophrenic super mutant called either "Dog" or "God" with two different personalities (each has a different perk). Christine is mute for most of the DLC. She is very damaged but also very intelligent. Dean is a lounge-singing ghoul with his own agenda. You have them on and off with you, but you have to interact with all of them throughout the add-on.

- The quest will take around 4-6 hours for an average player.

- The Ghost People were exposed to the radiation cloud surrounding the Sierra Madre. They are very mysterious, they don't talk, have glowing eyes. They don't die very easily - to really kill them, you have to decapitate them.

I see why I never had problems with them. I had agility maxed out + fast reloading on the first run so I could run and reload fast. And now I have perception almost maxed out which helps me spoting them and killing with energy weapons. Their poison is the only dangerous thing because it can kill your companion even after the battle.

Agility affecting movement speed apparently does not actually work. It does affect reload speed and weapon draw/holster speed though. Armor weight will affect your movement speed negatively for both medium and heavy armors (the latter being worse).

Just met Yes Man, just found out the "big picture." How fucking cool, but very unexpected. :lol I'm in quite a spot, seeing as
Benny is at the Fort and I unfortunately wasted the Mark of Caesar. I think I'm going to have to win back the NCR's support and call them in an attempt to get the chip back.

It's probably going to be tough. And I'll need Grim Reaper's Sprint fer sure.

I hate the fact that, almost without fail, the real time it takes to compete DLC is half of what the PR speak says.

Almost always.

Funny enough, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was quite a bit longer than what the PR said :lol .

wow, ed-e is disappeared.

Do you have an earlier save where he is there?

If you already saved with Ed-E still gone, then try resting for extended periods (24 hours). There's the chance he'll show up.

I don't think this is considered to be a spoiler but I will spoiler tag it just in case .

Question Guys about the endings: how many hours each ending takes to complete? for example how many hours it takes to
walk the Caesar's Legion ending path and finish it because I hate to miss the Trophies which are related to his ending.

I'm now going trough
The House Always Wins Part V
and I saved right before it so I just want to know If I re-loaded the game to
take Caesar's Legion ending path
how many hours it will cost me?

Thanks.

Damn Sniper Rifle sucks now. My character is a pure sniper. WHAT DO I DO NOOOOOOOOOW?

Oh, wow. I was about to install the update for the 360. I use the anti-material rifle a lot. Did they drastically nerf it?

Switch to energy weapons? Gauss rifle is still ridiculous.

Or go to the anti-materiel rifle if you have the skills needed to make ammo for it.

Would anyone mind sharing just the names of all companions? I've only encountered Victoria, Lucy, Boone, and Rex. Who/what be ED-E?

I'm assuming by Victoria and Lucy, you meant Veronica and Lily

There is
Raul up in the Black mountains, Cass in the mojave outpost, and Arcade Gannon in the Fort in freeside, ED-E is the robot sitting on the counter of the Mojave Express in Primm

Do scrap electronics or duct tape come back into the inventories of shopkeepers at all? I need to build a bunch of weapon repair kits after hitting the weapon jackpot in
vault 34
and I can't seem to find anyone who has any in stock. I've got tons of wrenches/scrap metal, but no electronics or duct tape.

Thank you. And yes, I meant those names, even if I didn't know them.

I'd suggest finding the shacks and houses and hideouts scattered around the game, they're full of parts like that. Also, quest locations like
HELIOS, RepCONN, Sunset Sasparilla
are full of industrial equipment.

Well I was enjoying the game up until the Collect-a-thon started
Recruiting parties from Yes Man

Now it is just overly repetitive. Wish I could just drop it and proceed to endgame.

What's stopping you? There's like four routes to the end game.

Kill the factions or ignore them if you want, you don't have to recruit them if you don't want to.

I've done nothing with my life except eat and fap
I didn't even know that I could recruit them. I'll do it this time.

btw is there any way to finish the game on NCR side without going to Yes Men? Just yes/no, no spoilers please.

That will probably be next port of call then, I have a mission to
sunset sasparilla
I've already cleaned out parts of the other 2.

Fairly sure you don't even have to meet Benny.

I'm on my second run through the game.

I could be wrong but I think siding with Yes Man! means
building yourself an army to fuck over the NCR, Legion and obviously Mr. House
. (spoiler tag for those who haven't played the game yet).

Will download sometime, but are there any reviews out for this? Would like to know some of the review times and scores.

I left plenty on the map to do so I may just download it then level up to 35 before hitting it up.

Tempting but the small file size and presumed completion time is putting me off, might just wait for it to go on sale

DLC never goes on sale though. :( Well, almost never. I'll be checking this out after beating the game at vanilla-level 30, I'm with the one of the posters above wondering how much the extra icing to your character stats will effect end games. Playing on hard, I like that I die often, even at 22 with a Combat Armor, Reinforced. Cazadors, in swarms, still fillet me but Deathclaws are approachable.

It does, but usually just takes quite awhile. All of the DLC from Fallout went on sale at different points.

Well looks like this will be insta-buy regardless as all my Bing rewards have come in with some timing. Some things are free in life heh.

Played a few hours.
Got God an hour ago, interesting character :lol and I'm about to fetch Dean.
I'm just busy exploring everywhere. I don't know why but this DLC really reminds me of The Pitt.
