On consoles, we are aware that a small group of 360 users are seeing a DLC warning which is preventing you from loading save games. We are absolutely looking into this bug now, along with other reports of save game corruption. It is our highest priority right now that we find out what is causing it. In the meantime, we recommend you save often, and revert to an older save if this occurs.

Startup Fallout: New Vegas on the 360. There's a patch. It's a bug-riddled mess so I happily download it and restart.
Go to load my latest save and it says some downloadable content I've downloaded is no longer available, which is odd since I've never downloaded any, but I continue anyway.
And then it hangs while loading the save. Or any other save. WTF Obsidian?
Edit: It's a known problem. Still, this isn't exactly helping Obsidian's track record...
From the official forums:
Burned man is in this DLC? Fuck fuck fuckduckroll said:Need.... New Canaan.... must.... have.... Burned Man....
The thing is, I haven't even bought any DLC. When I start any saved game it says the DLC I've downloaded isn't available so some things might be missing, and prompts me to continue. When I do, the game freezes the whole system.Bungieware said:Fuck really? I literally just bought this game. I guess no DLC for me then.
Do you have any of the pre-order items, because those count as DLC too.codswallop said:The thing is, I haven't even bought any DLC. Not impressed.
Nope, nothing. I didn't pre-order it. The only "downloads" I have are the patches.Blue Ninja said:Do you have any of the pre-order items, because those count as DLC too.

In other news, yesterday I decided to do a bunch of main game stuff I ignored previously, and had a lot of fun. I brought Boone with me as I cleared out Cottonwood Cove and the Fort, including Ceaser. That was enough to finally trigger his companion quest, and I beat that too. One quest I had fun with before that was the one where you look for Frank Weather's family...
I found them, took out the Legion guards, was trying to free then, but every single one I talked to just bitched bitched bitched at everything, and whined whined whined about Frank being a bad father, and bitched some more about their current situation.
I got sick of it, and in the end instead of helping deactivate their collars I just went....

Patches are on different servers than the PSN.Effect said:Didn't think patching was still possible with PSN being down. Unless it's completely independent of PSN.

STILL NO HONEST HEARTS ANNOUCEMENT.

Honestly, he was the most compelling NPC I've met in the game. Kris Kristofferson gave him such a great presence.

When you send power to one of the areas (i chose full regen) then power up HELIOS1, both Fantastic and Ignacio don't mention what you did when you talk to them. Thus you don't get any bonus items from them. The quest is complete but i wanted reputation from the followers of the apocalypse.

Did you talk to Fantastic and Ignacio? When you talk to them no new dialog option comes up about sending power to the areas.disappeared said:I think I remember getting NCR fame from that quest, but nothing from the Followers. All the Followers' fame comes from quests in Freeside.
bonesmccoy said:I think you have to divert power to Freeside to get the Apocalypse boost. If you spread the love out there for everyone, your faction relationships do not adjust (iirc).
What's the word on the next DLC? Sierra Madre left so many dangling carrots...
McCarran and Las Vegas: By directing the extra power toward Camp McCarran and the Strip, the power will be transferred to the NCR home states along with the energy generated at Hoover Dam and part of it to power the neon lights in the casinos in New Vegas. You will gain NCR fame for making this decision.
Fremont and Westside: This solution will direct all the power toward the two poorest areas in the New Vegas area and the FOA camps located there. This pleases the Followers of the Apocalypse, though it won't benefit as many people as it potentially could.
Full region: The 'best' solution. The energy will be distributed to the entire regional grid equally, but as a result everyone will only get a small amount of energy and the plant will suffer frequent brownouts. You will gain a large amount of Followers of the Apocalypse reputation and Ignacio Rivas will give you skill books and stimpaks as a reward for making this decision.
ARCHIMEDES II: This solution diverts power to the next-generation space laser system mentioned in the terminal notes and will give the player the option of calling down space-laser strikes once every two days, provided the player has also obtained Euclid's C-Finder. The Followers are satisfied with this option, as Ignacio Rivas does not know the location to which the power has been diverted. However, Ignacio will not give you a Big Book of Science as part of your reward.
Full region (emergency output level): This solution overloads the plant, which prevents Archimedes I from being activated (see further notes). This gains no reputation with any faction, but Ignacio Rivas will still give the player some rewards.

Definitely try the 2 New Vegas bounty mods. In terms of gameplay mods they're probably the best and rival official DLC.

Dead Money is solid and it'll prepare you for future DLC. It took me in the ballpark of 10~12 hours to finish--I took my time with it--and I highly recommend it. Be warned it's one of those types of quests where you start with nothing but will get all of your previous gear back once you are done.InertiaXr said:Thanks guys, I will probably take out A World of Pain for now if it's game breaking difficulty wise.
By the way, is the 1st DLC any good? I've heard conflicting reports on it just like some of the Fallout 3 DLC.
