Famicom GB Micro coming to US

You could scream into the microphone to kill the Pols Voice enemies in Legend of Zelda and make the shop keeper in Kid Icarus lower the prices (in the western version you had to press A & B on the second controller).

Okay, this and the SMB 2P pause explanation have made this the best thread ever.

maybe nighttrain can peddle it off as his own creation one day.
:lol

when the hell have i ever done that? i would love to see what you're reffering to. perhaps there's some self ownage on the way?

anyways, i've decided im gonna buy a micro (famicom version at that) just to have as my emergency back up portable. the one that i always have on me, incase i ever forget my DS or something.

You know, I wonder if Nintendo'll include two extra faceplates. If so, a Controller II one is given. Someone make a faceplate photoshop of the AV Famicom and see what you get.

I'm glad that in most of the DS games you just simply blow into the microphone. In one level of Feel the Magic, in which you're supposed to scream to get the girls attention... I turned the volume up on my ipod and put a headphone to the microphone.

Way to miss the fun.

Nintendo is including a $10 coupon with the Famicom Micro here in the States we will be lucky to get one extra faceplate.

I missed this the first time around. I'm going to pre-order one today.. regular Micro? Meh. Cute, but not much else. Special edition? Sign me up!

Any new information on this at all? It's allegedly out in a week... I'd really like to know about any faceplates it might come with and (yes I'm a sucker) whether the packaging is in the same style as the JP packaging.

It comes out on the 28th, actually..

I haven't been able to find any official confirmation of the Famicom Micro's USA release. Can someone post a link...? And I'm not talking about the GA write-up. There is nothing official in that. As far as I can see this whole thing is pure conjecture.

Embargoed? :(((

If not, please tell us whether it's as crappy as the normal micro packaging.
Uh, no. No packaging embargo. It was a red and white box. No see-through window, just a pic of the system and the 20th anniversary Mario logo on the front.

So... more or less the same packaging as Japan, no additional faceplates, I'm guessing?

The official Gameboy Micro website has it on there and says that it is available December 5.

Here's the list of games you can use the $10 coupon for:
Nintendo said:
Advance Wars 1 & 2
Disney's Magical Quest
Donkey Kong Country 1-3
DK King of Swing
Dr. Mario/Puzzle League
Dynasty Warriors Advance
Final Fantasy (Dawn of Souls, IV Advance, Tactics Advance)
Fire Emblem 1 & 2
FZero (Max Velocity, GPLegend)
Game and Watch 4
Golden Sun 1 & 2
Hamtaro games
Kirby (Amazing Mirror, Nightmare in Dreamland)
Legend of Zelda: LttP
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
Mario Golf: Advance Tour
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Mario Party Advance
Mario Pinball Land
Mario Tennis: Power Tour
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission
Pokemon (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Pinball, and some GBAVideos -- includes versions that contain the wireless adaptor, even though it doesn't work on micro...)
Super Mario Advance 1-4
Sword of Mana
Top Gear Rally
Wario Land 4
Warioware (Inc/Twisted)
Yoshi Topsy-Turvy

NES Classic:
Bomberman
Castlevania
Donkey Kong
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
Ice Climber
Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Pac-Man
Super Mario Brothers
Xevious
Many of those, if not most, are out of print -- some very long out of print -- and the classic NES games are being sold for less than $10 almost everywhere. Also, some third party games in there. Weird.

Anyone seen this in a store yet? IGN has photos of the packaging up. What a debacle. It's nice they released it at all, I suppose, but it's really a bizarre implementation.

I'm very glad that Nintendo delayed this. Otherwise, I might not have snapped out of it in time. Hopefully the metal construction means I'll be able to get a nice used one for $50 in a year or two.

It looks like a G&W :)

It only comes with ONE faceplate? Didn't the jpn one come with a couple (not including the special one available in the club)?

Saw the empty promo boxes in EB last night.

It also doesn't come with that little tool to remove the faceplate. Which was a problem since there was dust under the faceplate. I had to take a pen and use the tip to get the thing off to clean the screen.

Just picked mine up from EB tonight....I love this damn thing, the face plate can definitely be pulled off but I dont know if I wanna pull it all the way off

I'm buying this.

Yes, I'm buying the GBA for the third time.

It's just so darn cute.

White GBA, NES SP, Famicom Micro. Nice little thing going on there.
