So you have actually played it before but need a demo? Wasnt the beta a demo? Fucking ppls do bitch about the dumbest stuff.

The beta did a terrible job of selling the game and this might sound odd...but it was the first real beta I've played on a console, the other 'betas' have played more like demos with very few problems/glitches.

The FP beta was full of game breaking glitches/bugs which I really hope they've fixed as the game wasn't all that bad when it worked properly.

I hope this is more fun than the beta. I never could get a full game, and I tried like crazy. The beta sucked, and was a total waste of time. The devs were completely unresponsive. Even when they gave us their PSN names so we could join the games, they were never online to play with.

Seriously though, 15 bucks is a reasonable price for all the maps, modes etc your getting, and what about no demo? The fuck, what do you need a demo for, just look at that fat ass princess, like what you see = buy, don't = pass, you don't need a bloody demo for every game.

Ugh, come on people...

Well, I was pretty much sold on the game when it was first revealed and the concept was explained, although after reading so many differing opinions on the beta, the chance to try it out for myself would be welcome.

At the very least I'll be holding off to see how the online is holding up before deciding whether to take the plunge or not.

This. The ONLY problem with the beta was the server/multiplayer side of things, oh and playing the same map 50+ times gets repetitive too but that's again, a beta thing. If the servers are fine and lag free there will be no need for a demo for 'convincing' those who had problems with the beta, not that a demo would show whether or not the servers are playable anyways. :p

You could say that about every game, man. Look at a video and see if it's for you. I highly doubt you're chomping at the bit to play it anyway, so why get something you're not interested in either way?

There are a lot of people who do say this about every game. I think us multi console owners are just spoiled because it's mandatory for every single XBLA game to have a demo at launch.

I would have held back on FP without a demo if I didn't play it at E3.

Yeah, day 1 for me too. It just looks so fun to play.

Having no demo is not a problem for me. Usually, I don't like demos so much. They're kind of spoiling part of the full game.

Plus, you never know what to expect really. Sometimes the demo is crap and the game is great (Motorstorm Pacific Rift, for example), sometimes it's the opposite...

Bring on the cake !!

Most demos make me not wanna buy the full game (see Uncharted and Dead Space). There's only one demo I walked away from feeling I wanted to buy the game and that was Wolverine. :lol

Demos are almost exclusively shit.

Are all of you no demo no sale people the same for retail? Presumably you didn't buy mgs 4 until recently and haven't purchased gta 4 as well?

I was a lot more liberal with my digital downloads earlier this gen but I also wasted a lot of money. I don't think it's too much to ask for a demo, they could have done an open beta at the very least so people could try it cause I didn't get into the closed beta. I love me some multiplayer games, but yeah I don't buy most games without a demo. I'll buy ODST, L4D2, RB Beatles and Lego, but everything else I need a demo cause games aren't fucking cheap. Even at $10 or $15 that starts to add up over the course of a year.

Why am I not surprised people are finding something to complain about...

Regardless, cant wait for this Thursday :D

same assholes talking shit about a $15 game will probably blow the same amount on lunch at Outback......literally, blow it out your ass all you whiners

After the Beta my hype for this game is at 0.
After E3 I thought it looked really promising, but there was just nothing that made me want to play the game longe than 10 minutes.

Hopefully the impressions will be good, then I might bite but $15 for pure multiplayer.. eh, I don't think so.

Same. I don't doubt this game one bit, but I would like to hear about the online, and how it functions.

In the beta the online was fine. The only glitch I ran into was when you deliver the fat princess to the throne she would sometimes fall through and vanish. I'm sure that's been fixed.

I think I will have to get this. I haven't had a chance to try the beta either but looks great and should be cheap enough not seen a price in £ yet but going by the usal echange rate shouldn't be too bad.

I can't say the same is true for me... at least not for downloadable games. There are a ton of XBLA games that I would have never bought had it not been for the demo. Who knows how many PSN game sales they missed out on because they don't have a demo for each title.

Let's face it... it's pretty inexcusable for a first party title not to have a demo.

This isn't entirely true. The netcode was pretty bad, but the game was a ton of fun when my connection wasn't impeding the experience. As long as it's been fixed, the game should end up being a blast.

I didn't have any problems playing online except for what I mentioned. I never experienced any lag, disconnects or anything. Are you sure the problems you experienced weren't just internet connection issues on your end?

This looks like any retail multiplayer-only game, polished as hell too. Well worth my money. I'm betting quite a few will buy it, will the servers hold up?

From the comments in this thread from other Beta testers it seems your experience was the exception and not the norm. Seems you got lucky.

No one answered my question :(... is there local multiplayer (aka splitscreen) or not, or is it simply not known yet?

Well truth be told, I only got to experience online play about 4 or 5 times because of the weird beta setup. The games I did play though were long ass games though with no problems, guess I was lucky to a degree.

I don't think the option was there in the beta, but I don't think anyone really knows!

I'm with Firewire on this. I had issues connecting to games sometimes, but in terms of the game itself it's by far the most stable beta I have played in a long time.

BTW, ANY word on a release date yet at all? I have several people who keep asking me when this comes out.

It's unlikely, since the beta was 1-player only.

You must be pretty lucky then, since you're the only person I know of that didn't experience any connection problems. It was pretty common for games to lag out multiple times upon startup. I think I only managed to be part of a game or two with more than a handful of human players. There were also other glitches besides the princess falling through the level, such as built catapults not activating, having buttons get locked down on perma-turbo (which I had to exit and rejoin to fix), and the bad hit-detection when trying to chop wood after the first beta update.

Although, even with all of that, I'm still really looking forward to the game, as long as this stuff has been fixed.

Speaking of which... any chance we will see some reviews this week?

Media outlets must've gotten some debug version by now... or should I just forget that expectation.
