I'd like to point out that just this month the FBI helped take down a trio of rightwing militia nutjobs who were planning on detonating car bombs at an apartment complex in Kansas City that housed 100+ people, mostly Somali immigrants.

Well, unless members of the media are lying to create false outrage for Hillary, multiple people in the FBI are saying it now (to some extent, at the least), some of them since July.

Seems to be conflicting reports on that since that's coming from anonymous off-the-record sources. It's really not clear at all whether it's three or thousands or somewhere in between; different sources are saying different things, which is another reason why Comey being so vague isn't helping things because it means we don't know which of these reports is actually correct.

You really believe that? No criminal wrong doing, I really lost faith in the FBI over that. They destroyed hard drives, deleted emails so they couldn't be recovered and used hammers to destroy phones. If you aren't doing anything wrong then why do that? That is obstruction of justice. You can't destroy evidence in a case and get away with that. Try that tactic with the cops and see what happens.

I don't think it's partisan. I think it's reckless incompetence given there's a very real possibility they come out a month later and say they found nothing of value. You can cry about people being Clinton fans but I've been saying in threads for months now that no matter what weaknesses Sanders had, he would not be dealing with anything like this and that Clinton is a weak candidate. Biden would be doing better as well. My "support" for her is pretty much entirely based on the real fear of Trump winning and his party dominating every level of government.
None of that changes that what Comey did today is neither informative or helpful given how little clarity he gave us.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but you had - and still have - more than two choices, though I guess the Uniform Congressional Districts Act made that a little more complicated in 1967. Framing every debate within the Democrat vs Republican paradigm, whether it be about the election, gun control or what have you, creates the ridiculous notion that every issue has two, and only two, possible solutions. You can't solve problems unless you can discuss them rationally and you can't discuss them rationally when everything becomes a death match. The level of hostility between the two parties is higher than it has ever been in modern history. Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump didn't gain the traction they did because everyone's happy with the status quo. A Gallup poll from last year showed that 60 percent of respondents said they wanted new political parties.
A friend of mine told me he wanted nothing to do with both major party candidates, but feels like he's forced to vote for Hillary because third parties don't have a chance in hell (and Johnson's not all there). Well, how will they ever with that attitude?

I'm in the military. All of this "email" bullshit has a very real effect on everything I do. Discarding the UCMJ aspect of the emails which she's not subject to, other countries DO listen and OBTAIN our random bullshit, secure line or not. Hawaii is the fucking worst. My biggest thing is her saying she had no training on the matter... BULLSHIT.

Not always hammers. My office has a gigantic pulverizer and I'll find any excuse I can muster to go into that room because it's spectacular to watch and listen to.
Comey may be making some boneheaded political moves, but that doesn't make the entire agency worthless. Stories with a lack of bodycounts may not make major news, but the FBI still foils all kinds of stuff all the time. Being unable to stop every act of violence isn't reason to tarnish the whole place.
The very fact that you didn't hear about this should probably make you question whether you can accurately judge the FBI's effectiveness.

Yes? There's no evidence at the time this has anything to do with her private server. It's really not clear what, if anything, they actually found and how it actually relates to Clinton because Comey was intentionally vague. Just that they found something on a device belonging to Huma/Weiner, that may have e-mails relating to Clinton, but how many e-mails exactly whether these are actually e-mails from the private server, whether these are new or old and already known about e-mails and the important questions like that that make a tremendous difference in whether this is something or absolutely nothing are all complete blanks and unknowns right now. For the time being, they appear to have nothing. Unless I missed something?

Deleting emails after a subpoena from congress is not standard procedure.
I don't see why you would take that as sarcasm, unless the post he responded to is a really bad joke/sarcastic one.
To try to blame the FBI on all tragedies in U.S as if they can catch them all or even most of them is a very terrible thing to do. Also you should note that it is only Comey, the head of the FBI that is writing vague letters.
I also do not understand why people are hating on his public press release about the investigation. He shared his findings, simple as that. Also just because law enforcement does not indict does not mean there wasn't any criminal wrongdoing. The FBI is usually very strict on it's attempts to indict, they usually will not recommend or go for indictment if there isn't a strong case for conviction.
What Clinton did was definitely incompetent, and there were some crimes taken place, but none that are worth indictment over.
As for this whole thread situation. I do not understand why any of you are getting so worked up about it. Incompetent or not, Comey's letter will not have any significant effect on the election. Those who hated Clinton will believe any negative, vague, or even false information about her, so why get worked up about it? You all talk like there are some on the fence about the email and benghazi events. People have already made up their mind on that. That is why this thread is majority Clinton defenders against Comey. lol

If I'm under investigation for something, I am not supposed to tamper with any thing that is involved in that case. If I think something is irrelevant or not that is not my decision that is the courts or whoever is trying the case. I thought that was wrong doing, I guess that isn't.

What other investigation had Comey previously closed on Hillary Clinton that he would feel compelled to inform the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that the FBI had new evidence which needed to be reviewed?
