February 2014 NPD (U.S. Hardware) Predictions - Closes March 10th

Really? Its in 23 ish hours? Totally forgot about NPD

If Wii U outsells Xbox One even by 1 console ill eat a Nintendo 64 cartridge whole

good thing there's 0% chance of that, eh
23 hours until Nintendo, and I guess Microsoft, fans get hit with The Phantom Pain of sales numbers

that was terrible, I'm sorry, and it's not even relevant yet

Approximate countdown to Feb NPD Thread/Leaks etc.

Oh nice it is tomorrow!? Thought it was next Thursday.

Be realistic. Motherf*ckin' Cranky Kong hit this month

0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
1% chance of that occurrence

What would even be a good pun regarding a game title to reflect on sales?
Bravely Default doesn't really work unless the 3DS gets a huge spike out of nowhere, and I'm not sure what else would work.

Can't wait for tomorrow. I expect a similar trend like February NPD, but i'm more curious about next month's NPD, and how or if Titanfall moved alot of units for MS to be considered "successful"

Hah!

I got a extra version of WCW vs nWo for N64, ill eat that one if it happens.

I am super curious about XB1 number, if its around 140-150k again...fuck that is bad.

Slightly less curious about PS4, except it at 250-300

Predictions closed two days ago, guys. No sense in putting up your predictions in the proper format now because they won't be counted. ;-)

[360] 47K
[3DS] 90K
[PS3] 40K
[PS4] 402K
[WIU] 51K
[XB1] 210K
[PSV] 15K

so late

tax refund time

PS4 would do decently to have half those sales

well it could be worth it to see how you would have done
where's my leaks Aquamarine, get the party started early

Xbox* sold the most software

I mean in terms of sales trends. I just started following this recently so I was wondering if February numbers are usually better or worse than January. I would assume that sales trends are going to be the major factor this month, since we haven't seen too many must have releases this month that wouldve moved units.

I'm bored. Come on NPD results...arrive faster!
I can't wait for the meltdown(s).

We're guaranteed at least one (Nintendo fans).

I do expect both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One to perform well, but one still notably better than the other.

[PS4] 350k
[XB1] 100k
[3DS] 80k
[WIU] 40k
[360] 60k
[PS3] 80k
[PSV] 50k

In case anyone is wondering, yes, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Note entirely related to the thread, but what are people expecting from games like Castlevania and Lightning Returns in terms of sales? Software sales on the older systems have been dropping pretty rapidly, right? Makes sense to me given how long they have been on the market.

I heard that last-gen software fell off particularly bad in the US last month
dunno how true it is though

Unless they've been unaware of the marketplace for the past year, what would cause this theoretical Nintendo fan to meltdown?

here?

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Unless they've been unaware (or disbelieving) of the marketplace of the last year, I can't think of anything surprising to pop out of this NPD thread for Nintendo. Meltdowns come from something surprising happening and people can't handle it. (See February 2007 PS3, DQIX, FFXIII 360, etc. threads)

Oh god that reminds me bravely default

FF may be on there but I doubt Castlevania

The Pentagon apparently uses body-sign language experts to decipher Putin's mood. We could probably use their skills tonight to decipher Major Nelson's.

Meltdown for what? It's not like people were expecting WiiU to do any good last month.

oh, that's where the GBA>PS3 thing started huh
lol

Unfortunate if someone thought that. Japan's MC numbers.

7180 <- week before DK:TF
8782 <- week of DK:TF release

Basically statistical noise/normal weekly variability, in my opinion.

Famitsu was even worse, 8605-->8706
Wonderful 101 strikes again
