If you limit Okada's offense that much then Suzuki looks like a goof for losing to him. New Japan felt like they had to stack the deck so people would think Suzuki had a legit chance. That part worked but it did detract from the realism of the match.
Don't watch football, but it sounds like The Patriots overcame the odds.
