February Wrasslin' |OT| WrassleGAF. In 2016.

She should have gotten a run with the belt last year. They forced her to turn heel for a shitty total divas storyline despite being a natural baby face and she nailed it.
Yeah, I thought they were gonna actually let her get the title, but nah....let's put it back on Paige.
This shit is blasphemous, Yeezus. I expected more from you.
I'm sorry...

Yup. So fucking sad how Punk and now Bryan had their careers cut short.

There's no one now. It's going to be a loooooooong time before someone like Owens or AJ reach Bryan's level, if ever. It will NOT happen with Reigns.

I also find myself extremely uninterested in wrestling at the moment. Punk and Rock brought be back in 2011, Bryan's run kept me interested, but now... I just don't fucking care. The most exciting thing right now is Nakamura's debut, but they're going to drop the ball on that after a few weeks, and then there's nothing again.

AJ is 38 years old he doesn't have a couple of years. And I think Owens is at that level already he's just a natural heel so he's never gonna get the same kind of overwhelming acceptance that Punk and Bryan got. But as a heel, he's probably the best they got right now and will be a headlining within the year. WWE thinks very highly of him.

Also what the fuck was Titus doing to Vince?

I mean, good god, a favourite wrestler of mine for years and years as I watched was Chris Benoit.
Bryan's retiring early in context is much better off.

Zayn could capture a similar level to Bryan. Plus he has an eternal rivalry with Kevin Owens that could be amazing for years.

Who am I kidding, they'll both be eternally fighting Ziggler for the next 5 years.

Was a hell of a RAW to be at. Energy was through the roof. Biggest pop was for Bryan, second biggest was for Reigns (surprisingly even was louder than Lesnar - its a mixed reaction, but it is an order of magnitude louder in Seattle than Lesnar and Ambrose) - Lesnar and Ambrose were third and fourth. Seattle's a fairly smarky city - lots of Sasha chants and Owens was loved.

Retirement speech was rough but fun - Bryan being Bryan.

Interesting Reigns did not come off as having a huge pop on TV

So does Bryan go into the Hall of Fame at Mania this year? Or do they wait until next year?
Doubt it's happening this year. They likely would have made an announcement.
Makes sense for it to happen down the road. Let us miss Daniel Bryan so we'll be elated to welcome him back for his Hall of Fame induction.
He'd be hard-pressed to top this speech two months from now anyhow.

I've only watched the royal rumble, two raws, and maybe 10 non new day segments since mania. The reason I even bothered to stick around was because this thread ( and I thank you all for that) but I simply just don't care anymore. I don't even get mad, or enjoy any of it anymore. I quit in 2001 and came back in 2010. So maybe I'll come back to enjoy KANE IN 2026!
That's the spirit!

Odd. It came off completely the opposite on TV. Brock seemed most popular, followed by Ambrose, then Roman in last.

I don't know what it is they're going for with this triple threat, but the guy obviously going to win it feels like a third wheel. Never more evident by all the air going out of the room during the second segment with Brock/Ambrose when Reigns came out.

Interesting Reigns did not come off as having a huge pop on TV

His reaction was very audibly (and I am half deaf) one tier up from Lesnar and Ambrose - but I think because it is a mix of cheers and boos, it doesn't come across as a consistent noise.

Roman has that Cena pop where the crowd pops as his music hits but is immediately drowned by boos

All the WWE music is crazy loud. They just jack the volume up like 2 levels too high for everyone.

I think Brock (outside of Bryan) got the biggest purely positive pop. Reigns was super confused at not getting booed when he entered (70/30 cheers / boos), not sure if this came across on TV, but he actually enjoyed the reaction and soaked it in as a happy surprise for a few seconds. But man, that reaction was freaking LOUD.

The mics are not always placed the best I have learned, I watched the Bryan speech on YT, and the pops come across like half as loud as they are in real life. That Bryan pop was Stone-Cold in his prime level. Meanwhile, the Tables chant comes in about right.

Gonna miss Bryan. He reignited my passion for WWE for a brief moment with his rise to the top. He was a bright spot in a sea of crap, despite his horrible booking. His Wrestlemania moment beating HHH and then Batista and Orton is the greatest moment in the modern WWE. The only thing remotely close was the Punk pipebomb promo and subsequent match with Cena where Punk walked out with the belt. He left an undeniable mark on the WWE that can be felt recently with the hirings of people like Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and AJ Styles.

You'd think they'd just use footage from the WM30 promo.

Which they did.

But that's probably it.
Sometimes you want the raw so you can pull more than just those few seconds. Idk how their archiving system is but we have a cloud and we have hard drives. They probably wanted more roh stuff.

I still think they're going to fudge it by putting Ambrose and Roman both against HHH and then Ambrose turns heel after he wins so they can argue that they got the reaction they wanted since Ambrose was technically a face at the time he won.

And yeah, it makes no sense that they'd allow that, but it makes no sense they're giving Roman title shots either.

Really wasn't his best night. Got fucking squashed with that table and then stood 50 feet away from Brock trying to look tough while Ambrose dick punched him.

He's getting overshadowed by two guys waaay better than him at what they do, simply as that.

Punk's success in WWE was very important, but I think Bryan greatly surpassed him in that regard and opened a lot more doors.
