Well, in Europe it's generally legal I think. At least in the country where I live.

I think society as a whole is aware of that inbalance you describe.
Monogamy was society's answer to that problem. It prevented (at least partially) all women flocking to those 0.1 percent of mega studs, leaving nothing for the rest (every woman secretly wants that rock star, actor, CEO, surgeon, etc.).

I could see her being right about some women, but I feel quite confident saying that it doesn't apply to the majority of my female friends. There's probably some selection bias in who choses to go to a dating coach / match maker in the first place. I also don't agree with her generalisations about men, like being stoic or not wanting to be friends with your gf/wife. I think the problems in online dating are overblown. Yes, unless you're in the top 2-3% you won't get a fuckton of matches, but how many matches you get isn't necessarily correlated with how much success you'll have getting a relationship. If you're just looking to hook up, then sure, it's harder for men but that's not online dating's fault. Anyway the point is that a good relationship is mutual, so setting aside gay relationships it's obvious that it's equally hard for men to find a good relationship as it is for women.
