Last I checked on most crimes they let you out eventuallyThey can be a good mom to the kids they already have. If they want another kid then they can adopt.
Prison is permanent too. You don't get that time back.

Lol. I love the I'm a vegan addition as if it's pertinent.
Most animals take care of their young. If you don't take care of your young, you are worse than an animal.
That's funny, my doctor performs blood tests and seems to think I'm fine.
Speaking of health, is your avatar meant to honor some 300 pound dude who just died in his early 30s?

If you are pumping out kids that the rest of society is then forced to pay for then you are taking from the rest of society. If you take like that and get thrown in prison then your ability to continue to take in that way should be stopped.Who is taking anything? The only thing being taken are the reproductive organs of people.
No. We can remove someone from prison and restore their life with an apology and money to get them started again.

Otherwise, you are creating an incentive for people to go ahead and be irresponsible.
An apology and money don't get those years back.No. We can remove someone from prison and restore their life with an apology and money to get them started again.

Not enough :lol smilies in the world. Your life is more than just the sum of your possessions and your current job.
You have past experiences to build on, and relationships with people you care about. Pretty hard to restore that.
An apology and money don't get those years back.

It is, to his argument.
As this is pertinent to forced sterilization how?
Usually, if you don´t get the fitting approvals it is against the law, thus illegal.Couple of questions
Is it illegal ? (''without required state approvals'' doesn't really clarify this point enough I don't know how your laws work) Sounds dodgy as hell but the impression I get from the article is no one really knew about this law/clause/mandate/guideline
Is it immoral? (You're going to be hard pressed to convince me of this, unless the doctor(s) were feeding them a bunch of porkies or false information to further his/her mad scientist ambitions, I cannot see why in specific cases counseling a patient about the potential pitfalls of 5+ pregnancies is anything but responsible doctoring. Especially seeing as the choice is the patient's and knowing doctors, they would have explained the risks then given options not said "hey you gotta do this")
I'm struggling to see the vile intent you all are.
If you are pumping out kids that the rest of society is then forced to pay for then you are taking from the rest of society.
My argument is that pumping out as many kids as your body is physically able is not (or should not) be a human right.
They do say you are what you eat.
The number of people that spout this crap seems to be rising. I wonder how long it'll be before some party propose something. It's one of the most basic ones. Thankfully, you don't get to make the call on who can mate and who can't.
Thank you.
My argument is that pumping out as many kids as your body is physically able is not (meaning, should not) be a basic human right.
Plenty of animals abandon their young but this thread of talk is besides the point. We're talking about sterilizing people and you're justifying it with nothing particularly poignant.
My argument is that pumping out as many kids as your body is physically able is not (or should not) be a human right.
Nothing particularly poignant? You may not agree but I am justifying it due to people's repeated creation of children dependent on the state and their criminal behavior.
If you think that these people should suffer no repercussions then you are free to adopt their kids so their kids are not dependent on the state. But I somehow doubt people will do this.
That's funny, my doctor performs blood tests and seems to think I'm fine.

If you really gave a shit, you'd realize that simply living in a country where you have access to the level of technology that allows you to spew your bullshit on a computer screen means you have more of an environmental impact on the planet than ten of them little brown babies you're so fucking scared of poor people having, do the world a favor and sterilize your own damn self to remove your self-hating ass form the human gene pool
So you like China's model huh?
My argument is that pumping out as many kids as your body is physically able is not (meaning, should not) be a basic human right.
It wasn't "for no reason", I brought up being vegan because there are already 7 billion people on this planet and the resources required to support them is causing all sorts of environmental problems (I won't get into the stats regarding water/land/grain etc. needed to sustain an animal-based diet in the developed world, anyone who cares can look it up for themselves), and eventually that number will rise to 20 billion, and that will cause even more problems (regardless of the inevitable technological advancements, Gemüsepizza).
He didn't make an innocuous comment, he made a personal health-related comment relating to my diet (funny how my initial comment was "for no reason" whereas his was "innocuous"... I would switch the labels on those), and my point was that he probably doesn't do that when people who eat meat have health problems, which in real life (heart, cancer, diabetes, etc.) happens far more than "lol sickly looking vegans"...

Is this a joke? Only one can fight back too.
Forced sterilization defense force pretty disturbing.
This is ridiculous and awful, but there are far worse prisons in the world that you don't want to go to.
Humans are treated as subhuman regardless of culture/era, that's the problem. You screw up, you're not "worthwhile" as a human.
see, this guy gets itThe twisted logic in this tread can be easily translated into arguing that people in developed Western countries should just kill themselves because they consume such a disproportionate amount of resources in comparison to the rest of the world. But it always seems to be the poor and minorities who end up being the ones we argue deserve to be punished for the opulence of Western society, never the rich or white.

I don't know where to draw the line but if you are in prison and the state ends up paying much of the bill to raise your kids, I think the state should eventually get to tie your tubes.
That's not eugenics, that is just fiscal responsibility and punishment.
And the same should be done for male prisoners. Don't like it? Then don't commit crimes and have lots of children that the state has to pay for and it will never happen to you.
Not even remotely as disturbing as death penalty or chemical castration defense force.
Not even remotely as disturbing as death penalty...defense force.
This is seriously creeping me out. Who hijacked your account?
No, that is not the point of society. I have no problem with helping people who going through hard times through no fault of their own. But I have no desire to help people who are intentionally making the situation worse. We have massive problems as is, we should not allow criminals to run around and create more mouths that they have shown they won't feed.Isn't that the entire point of a society? You distribute the cost amongst a large group of people so the poorest are fed for a penny on the dollar of the richest. We are not islands of libertarian perfection.
Society has more than enough spare money and time to feed every single kid 3 square meals a day on your existing taxes alone. You do this because if you keep everyone healthy, your society as a whole becomes better and stronger.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_PreventionBarbara Harris founded the organization in Anaheim, California in 1997 as Children Requiring a Caring Kommunity (CRACK) after she and her husband adopted one-by-one as each was born the latter four of eight children from a drug-addicted mother. Each of the four adopted children is separated in age by only one year.[1] With the experience of helping the children through withdrawal and other health problems, she tried to get legislation passed in California that would have mandated long-term birth control for mothers who gave birth to babies who were exposed to cocaine as fetuses.[1] After this failed she started what is now called Project Prevention.[3][4]
Thanks, if that's the case I'm sure there will be investigations and more clear information from both camps will come forth.Usually, if you don´t get the fitting approvals it is against the law, thus illegal.
I disagree that it was immoral in the referenced case (singular). From the article they do say 150 patients over 4 years though (with the condition for offering the surgery seems to be being/becoming pregnant) this does seem rather excessive and I would be interested to know why multiple (assuming there are multiples here) doctors would go along with it. I'm not convinced this action was bourne from malice and I feel there is still lots of information missing here.Yes it is immoral, you do not take advantage of your position, especially as a professional. And it seems that is exactly what happened here. It was not the one woman with 5 kids, there where much more cases. Which shows it was common practice instead of a case by case scenario.
An apology and money don't get those years back.
