Justin has no real experience with kid targeted joke games with incredibly bad online play. He is more of a Marvel player.
Guys, I'm new to reaction gifs:

Is this the right one to use for toddhunter's shot?

Todd was joking.

No he's not. Marvel vs Capcom series is the pinnacle of fighting game balance and great design decisions. Why do you think Disney bought it and elevated it to the next level by transitioning it to mobile? Touchscreen fighting is the future.

I'd personally like to see more fight games use the dota/counerstrike/league model where the game is treated as a platform with a constant stream of new content as opposed to $60 sequels every 2 years.

I'm kinda shocked that SF5 doesn't have an arcade version announced yet, but I guess they're trying to shake things up with this version. I think it's gonna take a while for the other japanese devs to change focus away from arcades since they get so much revenue from it. The western devs will be on the console/pc focused idea first.
Skullgirls and SFIV do this. SG takes it to a different level, though. The gameplay and featureset has evolved enough from vanilla to encore that it would normally warrant a sequel if Capcom or ASW were pulling the strings. Content like characters, stages and modes are fine, but actual gameplay changes beyond the introduction of new characters really keep things fresh.

I see that the KVO tournament doesn't have Mago, Daigo, and Momochi participating, maybe not even in attendance. Basically those guys aren't going to gatekeep their fellow Japanese players, supposedly. If that were the case I wonder if they're going to attend the two Japanese Premier tournaments?

It's already been confirmed that neither Japanese Premier tournaments will award money to the winner and that's the main reason those guys will continue attending Premier events. I figure Daigo and Mago will be obligated to participate in TGS since it's their sponsors event, but I wonder if all 3 will sit out the 2nd Japan Premier Tournament(along with any other Japanese who might qualify by then). It would be interesting if they did that and basically not put themselves in position to affect the outcome of the event since their is nothing on the line for them and everything for all those other guys that are still not qualified.

The Japanese Premier events won't have money? Why? The gambling thing is only about turning entry fees into prize money, isn't it? Seems kinda lame

No wonder they're all traveling.

Was this budgeted into the plans? Or do they suddenly have extra cash floating around?

This is why SG still interests me. It's actually just an evolving platform of a game, and the scene around it stays fairly consistent.

Are they just for points and not direct qualifiers?

That's how I read it according to the press release

http://capcomprotour.com/announcing-capcom-pro-tour-2015/

Basically every Premier tourney gets 15k except Brazil, both Japan tourneys, and EVO. EVO has its own prize tier which is far above the other Premier tournaments. No mention about the Brazil or both Japanese Premier tournaments getting any money at all. If you add everything up, it totals 480k. So their isn't another 45k left for the other 3 Premier events anyways. I guess the missing 20k will be used to help fly players in and pay for their hotel.

If you meant KVO x TSB, it's a ranking event so it's just for points. But since neither of the Japanese Premier events will award money they're basically just for points and one automatic spot which Daigo, Mago, and Momochi already have. So in a way it's as important for them as a ranking event would be. I don't think seeding means much to them or most top players anyways. You're going to have to beat the best of the best regardless of where you start.

sooo many things done right with SG but I jsut cannot touch that game because none of the characters interest me...

plus I personally think the art-style is horrendous.

Playing against a decent Erron Black in MKX is hard... playing on a whogivesashithowgoodheis Erron Black in MKX on his Fisher Price internet is impossible. :/

"WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD"
this dude really whooped a kid's ass with 3 moves and then sent a friend request saying "want 2 play :)", I can't

I posted this in the OT, but I'm curious to know, what does FGW think of what they almost did with Jax in MKX?
Top right is giving me Anarchy Reigns Black Baron vibes; I dig it, but the Jax we got seemed like the more logical progression for the character.

They specifically stated that all of the $500k would be used as prize money. I didn't even know Brazil wasn't getting money. I somehow missed that. Maybe Canada Cup and the Kuwait tournament will get more than $15k for being World Premiere events.

Let me ask you guys something. I got a PS4 USFIV TE2 fight stick and I'm trying to use it for the first time. But when I connect it the system doesn't respond to the button inputs. There's got to be something obvious I'm missing. I'm trying to play as second player in MKX.

I would check the button configuration to make sure the arcade stick profile is selected.

He hated supers so much he quit immediately.

Really? Damn.

If you watch the Jeff Schaeffer videos he pretty much says Tomo quit when he discovered girls. I'm pretty sure he also quit because he had zero competition. He had no reason to stick around when no one could beat him. A lot of people quit when New challengers came out because it was slower than hyper fighting, and ST pretty much did nothing for the og scene, and practically killed the old school style of street fighter. People hated supers a lot. Lose 50% health for doing low forward? Ya, that didn't impress people.

That's what I heard about the OG fighting game scene. I taught the daughter of a top SF2 player, forgot his name. He was a really chill dude when I mentioned about it. I was so surprised when his daughter knew the SF2 theme for guile lol

New plans that may or may not involve skullgirls? They keep their cards close to their chest and they're smart to do so. I'd love to see and play whatever they put out.

The only SG related surprise would probably 2nd encore for the PC which is going to be AMAZING. Trials and challenges will legit help me learn some of my support characters more seriously than I do right now. I might even pick up a couple new tricks with Bella and Parasoul. Learning characters with youtube videos doesn't work with me for some weird reason...

I think 2nd encore for PC is pretty likely right now. The trials shouldn't be too hard to put in.
I expect the story mode to be paid DLC though.

They should just pack it all together. SG has two main audiences and both of them will line up for the trials/challenges or story mode. Casuals and the core won't stop coming through for the specific things the game offers.

Make sure that it's set to PS4 instead of PS3. If that's not the problem then I'm not sure what else the problem could be.
