smh. pac not teching any grabs and never popped x-factor.
steroid testing made it so that pacquiao didn't have any super meter throughout the fight.

Justin didn't duck a match til he was sure he'd win, though

But yeah, he fought correctly and Manny apparently had no answer for someone circling to his left

Manny thought he was playing Street Fighter but Mayweather was playing Tekken. Sidesteps yo

Nah he was just milking the match for maximum CPM...

And it worked like a charm.

You think so?

I'm a little surprised it went the distance to be honest, but I only saw two real outcomes:

1. Knockout by Mayweather
2. What actually happened

Pacquiao complaining about Money "moving around a lot" remind me of people complaining about Chris G playing Morrigan back in the day

No I mean Mayweather was "ducking" the match for this long to build up hype and anticipation for maximum revenue and that worked like a charm.

He did it so people would bother watching his last couple of bullshit fights by putting this one at the end; this fight would've been way more hype when both dudes were in their prime.

It's basically the same thing as EVO putting the KI exhibition right before Marvel.

Oh yeah. Made the right move by delaying this shit until they were both out of their prime. Then, one massive paycheck to send them off.

I think they're both done after this; no reason to bother anymore.

From a business standpoint Mayweather knew what he was doing, from a fan's and better fight standpoint, it was bull. Both men went home with a paycheck equivalent to a whole QB's contract in a day so I don't think either would cry much if the other won. Manny lost his step years ago and Mayweather doesn't really need to do much since he was always the less aggressive fighter in any match he's in. That's why Boxing isn't really as big as it should be because the most effective style is Mayweathers and it isn't exciting to the masses.

fuckin' called it, man
That match just made me interested in Mayweather's fights. Would be cool if there was an actual opponent to challenge him but I found the whole thing interesting regardless.

That's not the only reason

Boxing is like Cricket, in desperate need of looking at the rules and regulations again to keep it interesting.

Though Cricket has continuously changed its rule and it has shifted playstyles and strategies drastically. This most recent world cup was a prime example of it with the new ball changes, power play regulations, different types of pitches/boundaries... all leading into high scores and big boundaries + big shots to please the crowds. Though one can argue that this was not a net positive change for the sport even though it got more people interested (especially the smaller T20 format).

The casual boxing viewer wants to see big punches, body blows, hay-makers, knock outs... not an hour of boxers backing up and hugging each other to accumulate points which are subjective anyway. No one wants to see matches decided by judges... this is not gymnastics.

fg twitter was on fire as that match ended.

Lord I just saw a shop of Mayweather's face on the saibaman that hugs and blows up Yamcha.

Mayweather fights the same way I (try to) play fighting games. Only 100x more effective.

Boxing doesn't need anything. Mayweather is going to retire soon, and the next PPV stars are offensive fighters (GGG, Canelo). People always love saying boxing is dead/dying or needs something. Ali retired? Boxings dead. Chavez retired? Boxings dead. Leonard retired? Boxings dead. Tyson retired? Boxings dead. Floyd retiring? Boxing is dying/dead.

The past few years have been amazing for boxing.

Boxing isn't "dead" just like the Kentucky Derby isn't dead. It just isn't popular aside from these once in a few years marquee match ups.

The PPV format that boxing has encouraged means that only the diehards will pay for fights regularly, and so when a marquee fight like Floyd/Manny happens that can draw the casuals and get that result? It feeds into the perception that Boxing is not fun to watch.

The other issue is that Boxing at a whole sucks at promoting the new generation. The other major sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, etc.) do a much better job at this.

I'd be down for playing tomorrow if you'd like. Although I remember the last time we played being fairly laggy
I would almost be tempted to get in on this, but god damn does playing UNIEL online irritate me. That and I haven't played in about a month. -_-

I also think that the sport being a 1 on 1 challenge hurts it in that most people don't have the feeling of belonging or attachment that they feel with sports teams.

Remember how some people thought that there would be a trailer for SFV because of the Pacquiao sponsorship?

Maybe. I have some homework and stuff to finish up, but I might be on PSN tomorrow.

Like, it's good within a good distance. OoS though, neutral game and using shield gets way too hard. :/

I got suckered into the Destiny vortex for a while and haven't really played in several months, outside of light training mode here and there. So it's cool!
