After last year, they can't not have Melee and KOF13 IMO.

I think that'd be on Wizard's twitter, though.

I mean, maybe not. FGC is perpetually hungry.

i could see KOF not making it.

While it's been the hypest game at EVO 2 years in a row, it takes an eternity to finish and caused them to run over an hour late both times if I'm not mistaken.

Alright line up list time:

Ultra SF4
UMVC3
Injustice
Killer Instinct
Smash Bros
KOF13
TTT2
BlazBlue

These would be my 8 picks. First 4 are guaranteed.

Yo, Smash is guaranteed too I bet.

Prog is one of the Smashlluminati and he was teasing stuff right after Evo.

Yeah I think they are going back to 6 games and we might see some exhibitions for Saturday.

BBCP
USF4
UMvC3
Smash
KOF
KI/Injustice/TTT2

I fear that KI will never reach it's potential in terms of players being only on one console and the console that most people do not prefer to boot. It's going to be interesting to see how the game is come EVO. This is why I think it is important for fighting games to come out with everything they possibly can feature. In this day and age, gamers are less patient to stick with something when there are other games constantly coming out.

After the heart the Smash community showed last year, they deserve to be in every EVO from now on. They are a prime example of a community that supports their game.

I actually think they're gonna go even bigger this year, primarily just from adding KI. Don't think they'll go in the opposite direction.

For sure:

USFIV
UMvC3
Melee (would be crazy if they added Brawl too; probably would get more entrants than many of the games below)
KoF XIII
KI
Injustice
TTT2

Likely:

BBCP
DoA5

Looking shaky:

P4:A

Nidhogg for EVO.

Yipes said your boy Kanye is wack, Enzo. (but thinks he has good production)
God status revoked. Kanye Am A God.

I feel like KI is being held back by the same thing TvC suffered from. KI is on Xbone which isn't popular and TvC was only on Wii which wasn't a popular fighting game console, they share the similarity of both being bad games.

Perhaps, but market penetration is a bigger issue. X1 being rather limiting in some aspects is more of a prospective issue.

When you have something like a handful of million people worldwide with the device period after a massive launch, it's hard to foster that same sort of community, even if it's F2P and from what we can see from leaderboards is reaching a very significant percentage of all owners. Of course people are going to hound on it for a shit number of entrants but it isn't half as accessible as other games for players to pick up, let alone build a scene out of. It's not coming out on a console that 70+ million people already have.

I was mostly giving a long winded description of something only to say that the two common factors between the two were really just that they're awful games. The console stuff was more of misdirection than anything.

Nintendo could give a struggle sponsorship to support Smash U.

That would be a good move no doubt. Have a panel there, show off a Namco fighter character and have some kiosks as well. Nothing lost in trying court your audience but I fear Ninty doesn't get that.

USF4 - duh
Marvel - obvious
Injustice - Still doing strong, will be in.
Killer Instinct - Moneyhat, so yeah.
Melee - Will be in unless Nitendo intervenes.
KoFXIII - Still doing decently good outside the U.S. and they'll be enough overlap with SF4 players. Will more than likely be in.
SFxT - I don't think we've seen the last of it. It is a Capcom fighter (so it will pull in numbers). I also don't see it doing less years than MK9. Would probably be SFxT's last hurrah, but I believe it will be in.
TTT2 - Premier 3D fighter.
BB:CP - Now that Japan and the U.S. are finally on the same page for once, and since P4A2's console release is still pending, BlazBlue will take it's place.
DoA5U - Doing decently good and the Arcade release may give it enough of a boost to be given a chance.

They expand to 10 games, and life will be near hell (they definitely won't decrease the number of games).

That's pretty much the safest bet assuming we get the same amount of games this year as the last. With maybe a Skullgirls exhibition again.

KI MAIN EVENT. MARK MY WORDS. THE MICROSOFT DOLLAR IS TOO STOINK

Nah, that would be great! We would all turn off the stream after SF4.

It's gonna be after Melee and just before Marvel and SF. The pre-Capcom slot, AKA the cock-block slot. All the shitty exhibitions are placed in that spot, when everyone just wants to watch Marvel.

Oh boy, the Evo speculation game! I enjoy this way more than I should (but it's gotten easier over the years, if only because of the number of games being run going up.

Stone Cold Locks:

USF4 -- Hell, it's already been confirmed.
UMvC3 -- Ditto.
KI -- What, you think MS is there to push Windows 8 and Office 365?

Stone Cold Locks (unless Nintendo does something stupid):

SSBM -- It's sad that it's even a possibility, but after last year (and talk of MLG picking up the game again) I don't think Nintendo gets in the way.

Likely:

Injustice -- Not the biggest community, but they've been grinding it out hard and the game has seen more variety since the last patch.
BBCP -- This game is getting decent numbers at tournaments even before the US release. I just hope you like (or play) Kokonoe! :3

Unlikely (but it's boring making the same picks as everyone else):

DoA5U -- The game has gotten far more support in the US than any other DoA game, and Tecmo is still actively pushing it with two more updates already planned.
GGAC+R -- The game still gets burn in the US (usually around 2/3rds of the tourney numbers of BBCP), and it would be a sick lead-in for ArcSys to Xrd in 2015.

MK9, SFxT and P4A seem like pretty easy drops (P4A2 would be a good add, but I don't think it's out in Japan or the US in time for Evo). TTT2 is a bit harder but Tekken has always been a bit soft at Evo for years now, and the community has shrinking for a while. KoF XIII is the hardest one to make -- US support isn't very good, but it always seems to do better at Evo, and the international support is stronger than most games. You would probably have a more accurate list if you swapped XIII and AC+R, honestly.

I find it hard to pick up and play games these days. Besides AE now and then I play old school stuff like DQ on my cell phone.

Oh, man, I would be super disappointed if KoF didn't make it into EVO, that game has brought so much hype the past couple years. The levels of hype are totally worth the match length, organizers just need to schedule around it.
