Man, this is so disappointing, I was hoping to atleast have a stream :( Also, from the eventhubs twitter it seems like it's the same build. :((

Game could really use a run, if they are going to make walking so slow. Atleast, once things start happening, hits look heavier and do chunks of life.

Good thing stages don't actually grow, when walls break.

y'all

that looks like garbage

but it's supposedly early in development so hopefully things will speed up and they'll wholly change all of ryu's attack and crouching animations

The game looking like garbage, the sound effects/music actually making the game more boring and the movement being molasses didn't stop them from making SFxT.

did you like the part where ryu did 6 dashes in a row and still didn't reach the other side of the screen

(which then opened up and became a double length stage)

Ryu got that makoto walkspeed but the tiniest weirdest dash in the world...

Man sf games gotta have reasonable walkspeeds this ain't injustice.

I guess that new car smell must have worn off, because it looks like the same exact build everyone was praising when it premiered and I was saying it was slow as hell since then.

Didn't see anything that wowed me back then, and with the time passed it still hasn't changed my opinion. It's still extremely early of course.

If this actually comes to pass, I won't even try the game. Speed and movement is what keeps me from even going back to SF4 in the first place.

Same. Once you KOF, you can't stop. Except for Melee and GG.

BUT IT'S STREET FIGHTER MANGH

People talking about putting FF characters into muh SF

edit: I hope Capcom realize that slow combos, and slow walk speed makes it horrible for spectating.

If SFV brings in any new players, they're gonna be so used to the slowest SF game of all time that there's no way they'll ever switch to a new marvel style game or any airdashers.

Add in some shortcuts and everything else ever will be too hard to play anymore! Genius!

My man.

The slowest Street Fighter ever, yep.

And I already thought SF4 was so slow too, aside from testing USF4 by a friend for a couple hours, I haven't touched the game in over a year and a half, closing on 2 years.

SF5 looks fine to me like this. But then i wouldn't mind if it's slow and puts more things into reaction territory instead of anticipation.

Also, wahey it's my birthday.
Sadly mom and pops are both quite sick so it's going to be a somewhat sad and dull affair. =(

Calling it the slowest sf after seeing 3 matches and only two characters early in the development time? Jesus Christ you guys jump the gun fast.

Sorry, years of being told to not call shit shit because the shit is not ten years old (In this case, the turd was Starcraft 2) and "just different" kinda wore out my nerves for this stuff. I have every reason to believe SF5 will be a slow-ass piece of molasses. I'll gladly get hype for it, but I'll get hype for it when they give me reason to, not by default when the precedent is SF4, even moreso Ultra, and SFxT.

It's OK to call things like you see it.

Early betas of SF4 were very heavily criticized for things that never made it to the final cut.

The game being slow does not bother me that much if it's on purpose and the damage is big so I'm ok with that. But the game having stages as large as a football stadium is boring. The 16.9 aspect ratio is doing the same perverse thing as in SF4 where two characters are a looooot away from each other. If I can't have the speed I want Super Turbo distances again, enough for big zoning characters but also short enough to get in and attack more easily. Or else we'll be back to the Honda vs Honda sit down and wait matchup from Vanilla and it will be garbage.

I did make sure to note in my first post that it's extremely early, but nothing wrong with calling it like you see it. Especially if you know the possibility to change it is there, and they're possibly looking out for feedback.

Reading comments on SF5, it seems some of you want it to be new and exciting whilst being exactly the same as SF4.

You can't moan that it looks like SF4, and then in the same breathe complain that their normals look/behave differently.

With new fighting game iterations, you kind of have to throw everything you knew about the previous game out the window, and accept change.

What I'm reading is "It's too much like SF4 - don't like it" & "It's not enough like SF4 - don't like it", from the same people.

Literally no one said any of that.

The walk speed is too slow, but they might have just decided to make Ryu really shit and un-fun to play.

That completely works for me.

Everything else looks great, much better than SF4. Given how much people bitched about SF4 for the past six or so years, I would be surprised if we didn't get complaining about SF5 after seeing one match.
You'll all still play it, you'll love it and you'll complain anyway.
