In that case Daigo had no HP left. So his only choice (based on the commentators) was to jump over the first hit then shoryuken when he landed but he messed up/was too far.

If he had more health he could have just sat there and blocked it I think. You should look at those TSRAI videos that were posted earlier. When he gets in he brings people down to nothing in just a few seconds.
Can he DP through it on landing without having vulnerable frames? Interesting if so.

Yeah, I usually use that Ultra to chip from full screen. Or, as Onemic said, I will often random ultra. Though when I do that, it is because I just want the round to end sooner. I don't actually think it is a good idea. :)

I will look up more TSRAI.

There is a window after the first hit where you can counter him.

This is with Akuma however. So I guess Ryu's option is to jump and shoryu.

K, watching now.

I just watched T SRAI vs. Mago, and TSRAI kept doing s.LP canceled into Surprise Forward, then jumping straight up. I don't get it. It never got him anything, and the cancel is like -12 IIRC. Disappointed to see him lose to Mago so hard.

Also, I keep getting video ads for some movie about all crime being legal for one day a year. What a goddamn stupid premise.

I don't know. Maybe demon flip is the best option for Akuma since it works at all ranges.
Hmm, maybe.

Even if a move is negative, doesn't mean its unsafe. Some of the best pokes in the game are negative on block and can't be punished.

Im not saying its unsafe, just that they're negative. c.lk is -1 on block and doesnt have much range, so you can actually mash out of anything she does after that. Most of her moves are actually unsafe on block though against a lot of the cast.

Almost nothing is safe on block.

I can actually raw ultra (with Rufus) more than half of her specials on block as long as I'm not at max distance. The weirdest one is LK Spin Scythe, HK Spin Scythe and EX Spin Scythe but not MK.

My jab is 4 frames so I can't punish Rhyno horn (almost never see it anyway) and her heavy or EX mallet smash (which is the real bitch).

EX MS is -4 so you can punish it, it's just a 1 frame punish :p

And you can't expect someone like Dhalsim to rush Elena down instead of letting her heal all day. That is not a fair tool for zoners.

There are a lot of tools that make it harder for zoners to zone. Heal is just one of them. I'd really say it only heavily affects sim and guile(guile much more so) since they rely a lot on their fireballs vs most of the other fireball characters.

From what I'm seeing, its 0 on block, so no you can't just mash out of anything she does. Unless the person is skilled enough to consistently hit a 3 frame normal with perfect timing, you can probably just throw them out of any normal they're attempting to mash.

Did some testing. Stand jab whiffs on crouching Elena but I can st.lk into close HP and tornado. If I don't want to complicate a one frame punish with another one frame link, I can do st.lk into close mp into ex tornado.

So thanks for getting me to re-test my notions on how to punish Elena's best tool.

whoops, it's c.mp then. My bad.

Shieeet. Why am I giving out Elena's weaknesses...

Oh hey, Mr E is in the same pool as Q in BB. He is a Bandai Namco UK Community Manager and a nice guy. If you play him Q, tell him FSP says hi. :)

Not seeing anything too bad that I'm aware of in Marvel.
BBCP however I'm dead I think

Marvel is doable, I only recognize the name of Ctrl | Unknown

Now I have "La pool de la muerte" in KoF, 2 players from Mexico are with USA flags, along with the obvious ones

Anyone happen to know who ATP is? Not Avoiding the Puddle, but his gamertag is ATP. Apparently he only plays marvel. :/

So my AE pool is: http://evo2014.s3.amazonaws.com/brackets/ssf4_d54.html

Only person that seems notable is sange_tencho. I don't know anyone else. Maybe I'll make it out of pools?

BBCP has two guys local to me that I've played with in the pool and they're playing each other in the first round. Gonna try and get that fixed, lol.

I don't know anyone in TTT2 but I'm free in the game anyway.

Hahahahaha, the succession of catching up on yesterday's discussion and then this Niitsuma tweet is godlike. ^^

It seems to me people are getting caught up in semantics when, in the end, everybody agree on the same thing: the game is losing players, as is normal and will happen to any game that is not Melee.

Who else is a noteworthy Blanka player?

Definitely Mizoteru, apparently he's coming to EVO this year. He plays a very lame Blanka just like me(j/k, the other Rice guy). He use to be somewhat of a myth. Back in the old says back in 2009, I remember Justin took a trip to Japan. When he came back he talked about how their was this crazy Blanka player who would beat Daigo all the time and when he left to go play at a different machine, Mizoteru would follow him to play him again in that area.

Your USF4 pool definitely looks doable. Sange Tencho is a pretty good Fei Long player. Unless one of these other guys is actually really good, he should be the favorite to take the pool. But getting out in losers is probably up for grabs and I think you have a good shot at it.

The initial launcher, let alone the initial hit, does not decide the match. Extreme exaggeration on your part. That would be like saying the initial hit decides the match in Marvel and even then it would be unsound despite that game having almost every hit lead to a combo.

There is extreme comeback potential in TTT2 thanks to stronger and more frequent netsu. Plus, juggles aren't the only thing one needs.

Example:

http://a.pomf.se/yzlgpy.webm

It's sad the player didn't know how to counter Baek but you get the point.
Yes, I was probably exaggerating and wasn't familiar with the netsu component of the game. That's rather interesting, thanks for the explication. Also, I didn't say the initial hit would decide the whole match. Just about half of the fight, as some juggles seemed to drain almost 50% of a fighters lifebar. But even that'd be exaggerated to say, since it's a tag fighter, which would make ~25%.

Rumour has it DOA5U is coming for PS4 this September, NG3 Vita in October.
Cum to me. DOA5u and SF4 on ps4.
That would be gdlk, but please give us a source. You're not referring to this rumour, are you?
