Man, that thing is tiny. And kind of ugly. Still, a shame.

Looking like we're just gonna have to custom order one from someone who mods sticks.

I wonder how someone prefers the inputs switched. I feel that we're trained to control movement with the left hand and actions with the right.

Not sure if applicable for this case, but a lot of PC doujin games tend to do arrow keys for movement + z/x/c/etc. for buttons. I also recall older DOS games generally using arrow keys + ctrl/alt/space.

I won't lie, I still use arrow keys for movement on PC. But when holding a controller it just feels wrong, even though I'm left handed. Maybe it's different with arcade sticks but I'm comfortable using mine in the default layout.

Smug has trouble against Sanfords Ryu and Ken. I love Smug and I hope he does well but lets be real, hes gonna get merked by them scary asians.

Does anyone here know where I can find a retail stick with the buttons and stick positions switched? Asking for a friend. Best I found was this Qanba stick: http://www.qanbashop.com/EN/EUR/product/Qanba-Q2-Pro-Standard-37.html but I can't find it on sale and some of the reviews about it aren't all that encouraging.

He'd prefer not having to learn to play cross-handed like S-Kill lol
Have you tried seeing if sites like Arts Hobbies will do custom orders?

I've personally always found it more natural to move with actual directions than with letters on a keyboard ever since I played my first emulator when I was like 6 or so. Probably helped that I never owned a console until a couple years later.

Ok this is a pretty good answer too.

Would a cyberpunk fighter have some sort of "hacking" element? Like you hit them and then you swap the input commands for their tatsu and DP. Or maybe the only way to gain meter is to hack in and steal it from a central reservoir. lol

I seem to recall seeing a pad player on stream once that was playing with the pad upside down. That honestly baffled me.

Still, I imagine that if there had actually been an option back in the day to switch the sides for controllers/arcade sticks, there'd probably be a large portion that uses the opposite. The fact it wasn't an option just trained people to get comfortable with it(or go the SKill/upside-down-controller route), and then it's hard to kick the habit.

Wiz says that Melee has past Apex #'s and Smash Wii U has over 1k already.

I'm guessing Melee is at 1100-1200+, and Ultra at 1500+ at this point.

so:

USF4, Melee: 1000+ (as of 2/24) (also USF4 is apparently "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead")
Smash 4: 1000+ (as of 3/10)

RIP Marvel
Kappa

Who was it that said Ultra wouldn't get as much as last year's? Ultra is the king.

Haha- I was talking purely aesthetically (could be mechanically more standard). Could be a single character who functions as you described, but it might be really frustrating to fight against. It could function as a temporary thing like MODOK's jamming bomb or whatever.

Fun times so far with the mixed responses to the "Ambiguous Fighting Game Question" on themes you'd like to see used for a character in a fighting game.

So far I see Wizard stuff, Cyberpunk stuff, and Fantasy stuff like the armored battle mage looking stuff and Knights posted earlier.

Any other crazy character themes you've been hoping to see one day used that hasn't come to be yet?

I want someone with tons of imagination to make a rip off character of Green Lantern.

The possibilities of energy constructs are endless, but the actual fighting game version so far is mad boring. Not fully NRS' fault, as missiles, planes, a minigun and buses are all logical for Hal Jordan. But like, the ability to make whatever shape they want out of energy, put into GG or something.

Seems like a really cheap way to build a moveset TBH. Same thing with characters that can just morph their bodies into whatever object as an extension of their body. Even if the characters take a piano or whatever out of nowhere it gives a character more personality than a shapeshifter IMO.

You already know that I have some fun stuff in mind, but I still need to see some hype ass robots. I'm talking Vanquish boosting and sliding style reckless rushdown, ZoE/MVC2 Sent style air mobility and a crazy number of projectiles at their disposal. I have yet to encounter a character that ticks all of these checks though.

I'm also interested in seeing someone do a Naga/Lamia style serpentine fighter that fights with their entire body length like the snake in Kung Fu Panda.

I've always dreamt of just a Lantern Corps fighting game. There is so much they could do.

I think GL move set is boring in injustice.
