Wow, that's a great look. Good on MS.

Sounds...not profitable for the game but pretty awesome.

My guess is that this was done as a promotion for the XBox One, and not by Double Helix; that said, I'd guess the money for the units would probably be moved from XBox One advertising to DH for units that were given out for free.

Edit: It's a gaming cafe. Yeah, that's a tough business to be in.

Persona had other issues as well ... First thing they do is go through character select. If they don't like any of the characters visually, then there is even less incentive to play.

I think this is the genuine issue at hand with so many games: they just have unappealing character design and/or bad graphic design. Like, Tekken for example, to me, and I'm sorry if this is offensive or ignorant, it just looks like shit. It looks like a dark, blocky piece of crap. I think Tobal #2 looks *WAY* better than TTT2. SF4 looks like a fun, fluid cartoon, it's visually appealing.

For a game to be a hit it has to have fun, easy-to-learn-yet-hard-to-master gameplay in tandem with great character design and graphics.

Capcom don't care about Marvel. The other 2 EVO champs got in but Flocker can't

Capcom didn't pick these, these were determined by fan vote.

So, reading ABEGEN's profile, there's this:

So it will be an annual thing....was that already announced?

I wouldn't read too much into that. The way it's presented it definitely seems like it will be an annual thing, but I would wait for official word.

Ugh, I really hope that's not going to be the 8 chosen for capcup.

It is.

It shocks me that there was a possibility that Chris and F Champ wouldn't have made the list. People really thought there were locks

It's crazy to see that the EVO champ isn't in this. There really should have been a lock on a few players at least.

EVO CHAMP NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR CAPCOM CUP!?

I'm glad that a bum who won 2 FT15s but lost left and right to randoms and almost lost to mike ross in tournament is #1 on the list lol

Nobody's gonna remember Flocker's win. Daigo didn't win 3rd Strike in 2004 but that's the defining moment for the fgc.

All people are gonna remember about Marvel in 2013 is Justin's rampage.

I'm just sad RayRay didn't make it, but it's a pretty solid list, I was scared that we'll ended up having a bizarre combination of "hype" players, but of the gods just Flocker didn't made it. And it's like this is the new EVO and he'll be dethroned or anything, so no big deal IMO.

Also, do we already know the tourney's format? I hope it's not just an usual top 8

It's crazy to see that the EVO champ isn't in this. There really should have been a lock on a few players at least.

edit:

It was a pool, and I BET Flash didn't voted for Flocker

Why would Rayray get voted in? Marlinpie has crazier tech and Champ is a better Magneto. All bases covered.

I wanna see Marn vs Abegen and Yipes vs Neo money matches at FGTV after Capcom Cup.

you can in no way justify 2-3 of the people on that list being mentioned with the others...

spoiler KBR is one of them

turn off the fanboy goggles for a moment and think about it

I have $20 on Abegen
They need to be there to increase the odds of one of them fighting Nemo.
While I do agree that it will be hype seeing Nemo take both of them on again I feel like the rest of the tourney will suffer by them being there. Oh well, can't be helped now.

I thought SCV would've have been great had they not neutered the movelists and brought back Soul Charge. The latter mechanic was so interesting totally - blows my mind that they excised it all together.

I really liked SCV before they took out guard dash cancelling. The game had a very fluid movement system.

Huh? You mean step guard?

As for TTT2 - been arguing for a while now that FGs in general are too bloated and that this game is the poster child of that phenomenon. I think its a symptom of the AAA frontrunners influencing FG publishers that simply can't hope to compete in that space. I'd rather see smaller titles with 10-13 characters made with more modest budgets. I see FGs being totally digital in the future.

Wow... haha. Fuck winning a 1000+-man tournament in the span of two long ass days. All you need is to have a wacky ass team or just used to be a good, recognized player two years ago to make it in.

What a shit list.

I'm surprised there are so many people butthurt over this. When the poll first opened up, they asked for the hypest players, not the best players. It's a solid list. ChrisG is probably the least hype player there but if he loses a match, we can probably expect a lot of hype.

Wow I figured Chris, Champ, and Flocker were shoe ins. Oh well, that is a hype list regardless. Glad to see Japan get representation
