I think Daigo is using the MK version in footsies and when he confirms his block string got blocked. He's trying to land counter hit far MP an cr. MK into MK axe kick which will allow him to tack on even more damage since it's +4 on hit. The heavy version looks good at +1 on block but it's much much slower than the other 3 versions so it's easier to interrupt it.
It was pretty fun seeing Daigo's Evi Ryu vs Justin's Rufus. He's has those Rufus combos down pretty good. He dropped his fair share, but he also landed plenty and dropped many on purpose to bait out reversals. Daigo is such a bully with Evil Ryu but Justin did pretty good himself. He started going reversal crazy halfway through the set lol.
Yeah, works with both Ryu's.

At least Justin did better than Bon Chan. Daigo beat Bon Chan 5-1 an hour or so earlier before the Madcatz exhibition.
