FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 |OT| Change the Future

Blah. I accidentally quit the game while watching the story scenes after activating the gate in 4XX Academia. I guess it saved already and now I'm past the scenes, but I've no idea what happened in them. Sad. :(

Do you need us to fill you in or do you have an old save? Or maybe just look for a youtube video. I'm sure there's one up by now.

I don't have an old save. I guess I could try to find a video, although the odds of me getting spoiled on future events while trying to do that are pretty high.

So Kagari and I were trying to figure this out yesterday...

How is the Cactaur in this photo so much larger than the regular Cactaur:

He grows. I guess if you leave the battle going for long enough, he will? That's how you get the giant one in the beastairy. You have to wait for it to grow.

What I'm saying, he starts out small. :) on the steppe. You have to wait a few minutes before he grows. Maybe it grew, then he took a pic? I don't know then. ;/

The final boss shouldn't have been too difficult. What levels are Noel and Serah for you? And more importantly, are you running a SAB?

Both have 99 Com/Rav

Medic/Sab for Serah and Sen/Syn for Noel are also both over 50. Serah was my SAB and Noel was the Syn.

The main reason I struggled was because I ran out of Wound Potions, so when the ultimate attack came round it was wiping out party members instead of just causing massive damage, because I couldn't fully heal.

I could probably beat it with my current team if I prepared more but I now feel like powering up some more and destroying it.

I don't have an old save. I guess I could try to find a video, although the odds of me getting spoiled on future events while trying to do that are pretty high.

I'm sure someone in here who's finished the game will happily link you to the vid.

I don't know what the english one is called but the one that grows in the Japanese version is called 'The Sabotender' ... it's different from the normal one.

After you activated the gate after collecting the gravitron cores?

Doesn't The Sabotender evolve from a normal Sabotender?

Ahh yeah I think it does. But it takes a bit for it to happen. サボテンダーが戦闘中に進化

Yeah, it starts doing this cute little dance and suddenly, poof! It transforms into the bigger version.

My first platinum trophy! Took 55 hours.[/QUOTE]

Grats. I did it too this afternoon. It was my first platinum as well. :) Definitely easy to get in this game. Just a little time consuming.

13-2 is an easy Platinum. I could see the percentage of people who do it being higher than those who 100% completed FF13.

If I got the platinum for this game, it'd be my first as well. But I don't think I'm going to bother. There's some really unfun stuff required, which is why I don't do these things in the first place. I will never do something I don't enjoy just for a trophy or achievement.

I platinum'd XIII and XIII-2... XIII is definitely much harder, but some of the trophies in XIII-2 were stupid.

Post game ending stuff:

God, that secret ending was so pointless. What a waste of time. Worst "reward" ever.

One reason I did it. Is cause I spent over $100 on the CE game and CE guide. Not to mention the story DLC I will be buying. So I willed myself to get it.

Only one I really hated was the 10,000 casino coins one.

Chocobo one = fail
160 fragments... just the process of getting some of them was fail. Especially that coin. Fucking slot machine.
100 consecutive preemptives was annoying and tedious, but easy.

It was no problem, of course, but sometimes I like it when getting a platinum is in no way annoying. I'm a big FF fanboy so I had to get the XIII-2 platinum no matter what. Just like how I forced myself through the mental strain of getting the XIII platinum. I'm sure I'll do the same for Final Fantasy X HD.

The only trophy I really hated was the Paradigm Shift one, mainly because I have no clue how I didn't get it during the actual game (it was the last trophy I unlocked) because I was always shifting.

Still, after getting the Fragment Skill that speeds up the game, the few that I had left over were pathetically easy.

Yeah, I'm the same. I think I'll finish the game and unlock/explore all the timelines at least but I'm not fragment hunting or any of that stuff.

I'm going for the fragments, especially now that I have the weapons with stats that are linked to the number of fragments you have. I've always been one to go for completism within games themselves, but stuff that isn't linked to in-game rewards is not interesting to me. Like riding a chocobo around for a long time, or getting a certain number of preemptive strikes, or any of that other stuff. No thank you.

D'awww, I didn't know there were weapons affected by fragments. Alright I'm doing that then. I'll use the strategy guide to ease the tedium though.

Took out a piece of the image just in case the link that was watermarked was unsafe, by the way.

Not for $3.

I don't even know who that is. Someone from XIII? I guess they're really going to milk the coliseum.

Someone who was marketed as a villain from XIII, then
got about 45 seconds of screen time before she was mercilessly crushed by Barthandelus
.

You're playing 13-2 without having played 13?

I played it when it first came out (I actually only finished the last 2 chapters the other week) but I just don't remember that character D:

There's a lot I don't remember about the game though, maybe I should have replayed it before starting XIII-2.

Not for $3.

The spoiler will be why I don't remember her I guess.

"mercilessly crushed" is a bit exagerrating. More like sneezed at. Breathed on? Sighed on. Yawned.
