FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 |OT| Change the Future

Does anyone else think the bit in 700 AF where
you use Mog Hunt to reveal the people in Noel's village just for them to die right as they became visible
is genius? Really effective blend of storytelling and gameplay IMO.

It was an interesting moment... except it just calls into question where
all these people ended up in the first place

Well I figured it was just representing a gradual thing that spanned generations as
Noel never acknowledged anyone other than Yuel and Caius in the dream. Just a nagging memory in the back of his mind about how everyone around him died rather than the "present" situation.

Anyone know whats the difference between Easy & Normal? I only played a few hours of XIII and I remember everything was just slower, which sucked, because I never got good battle rankings with it.

I'm trough XIII-2 and missing ~30 Fragments, always played on Normal - any penalty switching to Easy?

I believe in Easy mode the stagger bar fills up faster, monsters do less damage, and they take a longer time to make a move. At least two of those are correct I'm sure.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I learned that with enough concealer and powder, I can look like Serah now.

Wonder if a dude can do this and look like Serah.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Left the slots running for an hour -> went from 9K to 5K.

Restarted and left them for another hour -> went from 9K to 32K, hit the jackjot 18 times.

Finally.

I think it's brilliant how "Win or Lose" is played in the DLC menu.

Speaking of which, nice to see Sazh getting DLC.

I know, Kagari. :D

The one thing that I'm afraid of with that DLC is that the card game is going to end up being stupidly addicting. Though it probably won't match up to Triple Triad.

Easy removes wound damage, makes it generally easier. No actual penalty for doing it, except one achievement requires Normal mode (Raspatil)

Is there more than one time period at the Archlytte Steppe? Can't get to half of the map since there's a big chasm there.

yeah me too...and there are those kiactus statues who are fishy...what about the blue one? i've beaten the giant one that comes out, and then? it starts glowing and nothing more, the other two at least were teleports

when you have enough fragments talk to the choco mystic in serendipity. You will get the anti-grave jump fragment skill

Just woke up. Whats this I hear about a Sazh episode? What? Its only $6? I fear its not going to be very long. That would be hilarious if all it does is add another game to the Casino. It won't be over 2 hours long though. Will wait for reviews on this one. I do have $21 in my wallet for XIII-2 DLC.

Swimsuits eh? Have we seen pictures of that yet? I'd probably buy a shirtless Noel outfit. :p

The updated Andriasang article says there are 2 table card games. Also the Noel swimsuit costumes is, sadly, misinformation. It is, instead, a knight costume which is black.

That's it? You play those games as Sazh or something? How is that story related? Hmmm.

A few additional bits on Final Fantasy XIII-2's upcoming download content have surfaced from Famitsu and Sokuho.

As detailed earlier, the game will see new costumes for Noel and Serah in late February, priced ¥300/240MSP. Serah's costume is the pink "Resort Style" swimsuit outfit that was previously shown. Noel's is "Jikuu no Shugosha" (maybe... "Protector of Time and Space"), a black colored suit that is given to time traveling warriors from Etro.

Famitsu gives a more specific February 28 date to Sazh's download content, which is priced ¥600/400MSP. Sazh's DLC is called "Omote ka Ura ka" (maybe... "Front or Back") and involves Sazh somehow ending up in Xanadu, where he decides to try out two new table games.

Those two games are also part of the DLC One is called Chrono Bind and is played on a table that has a clock face on its top. Read Sokuho's writeup for specifics about the game (which, like most card games, is probably easier to understand by just playing it).

The second table game will be detailed in the next issue of the magazine.

Hai guyz, wanna look like Serah? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwTXy7RryVo&feature=related

The video seems surprisingly popular though.

I love Michelle Phan, not gonna lie. She's a Final Fantasy fangirl and she loves makeup, what else can one ask for.
Don't like how she put concealer on her lips but otherwise a nice tutorial for people who cosplay.
Looks like a lot of makeup but probably photographs really well.

I hope we get the dlc shortly after the Japanese release, now I must go buy more PSN giftcards.

If that is all it is, is Casino games. I'll pass. Even if you are in direct control of Sazh. I want new story content. I have the base game 100%, what would new Casino games do for me? Same thing with new outfits. I don't see myself replaying the game, so buying new outfits I probably won't do. I only did it for Noel's battle one, and I wasn't done with the game when I bought it.

Unless there is new story content on Serendipity along with the new games, I won't get it.

Not gonna lie, the girl is quite pretty.

As for DLC, meh. I thought it was gonna be more story centered with Sazh, but it sounds like all you're paying for is two card games. No thanks.

Well, in that case, it was weird given compared to what happened to Serah.
The concept of bringing dreams to reality and the people disappearing is interesting, since you are supposed to find Noel that way, but either Noel knew all these people and watched them all die - which is weird given his attitude - or he has some weird fantasies, comparatively speaking
.

I think it might have been much more effective if the roles were reversed though... because then you can relate it to the whole idea that
all of Serah's friends would have been dead at that point in the timeline and so forth
.

Is there any way to change sound settings? I have this on 360 and for some reasons the voices are really low. Ive checked in the settings high and low and there is nothing there.

Why does everyone in this game constantly sound so utterly amazed by everything? You go riding by on a Chocobo and they're all like "Wow it's so big!", you walk around in Academia and everyone is all "Woooah this place is sooo amazing!" in wide-eyed wonder. Don't these people live here? Surely they would consider a chocobo like we would a horse? I don't shit myself with excitement every time I see a horse.

I live in the world and I'm constantly amazed by it.

I mean...the sky is blue...blue.

That's awesome.

... I just realised... Is it me, or does the Invisible Depths track at 3:42 is slightly similar to Todesengel of Saga Frontier 2 ? (Masashi Hamauzu composed the Saga Frontier 2 OST, which I think is grandiose). Beware however : these tracks are Final Boss tracks. I prefer to warn you, just in case.

Anyway : Hamauzu really is gifted, and along with Naoshi Mizuta and Mitsuto Suzuki they made a fantastic soundtrack.

Geez...I think I keep making this game harder than it should be haha. Invested way too many early points in Com and Rav. Getting murdered by Caius because I can't Dispel his Body and Soul buffing/self-healing ability.

I just occurred to me. They should release Jill Nahbaat (sp?) DLC. We got to see a glimpse into Amodar's moveset, so why not her?

She graduate at the top of her class...

She's supposedly a capable fencer...

and she's hot

I could see her as a Saboteur... Not that I will spend any money for some lame DLC >.>

But, yes, truth to be told, she's kinda hot. Too bad she was so much underused : she could have become an enemy that we would have love to hate.
