If I buy the Ps3 CE, and then buy a digital version of PC, will the CE stuff be tied to the pc version too? Assuming I use the same SE account?
Yes, It's all about the SE ID, a.k.a your game's login and password.

So if I have a 1.0 CE SE account, I can null all of that?
And if I want to play on ps3, I just buy the regular edition?
Well I mean it's not really ironic. Obviously what people want is new models that are good.Oh the irony. People complain because they re-use assets. People also complain because they create completely new models.

If you have an existing non-CE account (or copy of the game that isn't activated yet) and you want...
...to just play the game on PC, then buy nothing.
...digital goodies only, then pay the $20 for digital CE upgrade.
...physical goodies too, then buy the full CE (if PC, you get an extra copy of the base game to sell, gift, or dualbox; if PS3 you get an extra copy of the base game to hook up to your existing account so you can use either platform, or you can sell, gift, or dualbox)

They really need to make a flow chart for this...
They really need to make a flow chart for this...
.
Feeling particularly stupid today. What does this chart mean? I'm probably gonna have 2 characters I want to alternate between... but does that mean I'd have to have them on 2 separate servers at the £7.69 price or... sign up to a half a year block to enjoy that discounted price? Uhhhhh.
The monthly price is what the month is worth if you pay each month, 3 months, or 6 months in advance.
Since you want to have 2 characters, for whatever reason, then you should go for a plan that is any but the Entry price, which only allows you to have 1 character per server.
So you could choose to pay monthly at £8.99 per month, or if you pay 6 months in advance you'd pay £46.14 in total, which comes out to be £7.69 per month.
But if I didn't mind having my characters each on separate servers (the world names right, Ultros, Cactuar, etc?), I could get by on entry?
EDIT: Beaten.
Well, from what we've seen so far, the summons in XIV are essentially very miniature versions of the primals:
Ifrit:
Titan:
There is a thread on the Beta forums about trying to make them a *little* bit larger, but a dev post replied saying they are remaining the same size for now.
Yes, if you choose the Entry plan, you get less characters, but also get the 15% discount per month as you would if you had paid 6 months under the Standard plan.

Bayohne's reply to the lag issue:
So hopefully things will resolved for all those affected (since this was an issue that happened to many, but not to all people for whatever reason) by the time of launch, or even better the OB.
Oh, neither did I! That is great, because I was considering additional slots just for alt characters and/or friends on other servers. That works out perfectly for me. No need to have them on one server once I figure out what I want to play.Oh neat I thought entry mem = 1 character total
Didn't know its per server
This is for NA also ya?
I had heard on the Square forums, that the quick and easy short term solution to this problem, would just be to make the AoE indicators larger than the actual area affected, to hide the lag, like many other MMORPG's do.
They may have to resort to something like that, if they can't iron that out a little before launch. Hopefully they'll just be able to solve it straight up however.

Highlanders seem like the obvious compromise, but I don't like how lopsided they are towards melee and also how they don't have freaking eyebrows! I'm so torn right now.
Probably gonna either end up on a Hellsguard or a Midlander. Midlanders have better stats both physically and for mages IMO, which is weird. Also, a Midlander would let me become immersed in the story a bit.

That's realistically the only way they can fix the problem, because even if they tidy up their netcode, there will be someone in Australia, Argentina, South Africa, etc, suffering of latency issues.
In FFXI Odin was the Dark Divinity, essentially the leader of the Kindred (demons, imps). I wouldn't say it is out of the question he is their primal, if they have a primal or he is associated with any race.
Combat is a improvement but some of the skills and abilities feels useless for some classes might get lost when you are higher level.
Story is good but wish you could skip some of the cutscenes they take too long and it's very lengthy.
Map should improve when you are looking for a quest area have a little line that directs you to where you need to go.
Jobs and Classes are good but there has to be more of them.
Question:
-If you level a class to 30, a second class to 15, and unlock the corresponding job for that particular combo, does the job start at level 1 or is it tied to the level of the main class (30, in this example)?

Played the Beta and enjoyed it quick thoughts.
Like different ways of leveling through guilds/gcs/partying/main quest/side quests etc but in final game don't want to be repeating the same stuff so more different quests and what not.

Jobs and Classes are good but there has to be more of them. FFXI Jobs in this game would be great but I can't see all of them. Don't want the same classes but with different spells and weapons. Should be all distinct from each other. Other FF game jobs should be in this game. If there is going to be an expansion more content and jobs but they should condense it 2-5 expansions instead of 11 like FFXI.
Overall good game somebody who has played FFXI will get this game but going to wait until more content and classes.
Awesome, I assumed it would need to be leveled independently.
Do people see a reason to be a level 50 of a given class versus level 50 of the job? For example, if I have a maxed gladiator, is there any reason to not just always have the paladin job active instead?

Not particularly. In 1.0, there was a stat trade off between classes and jobs but, in ARR, jobs have better stats in every way. Jobs' cross class abilities are more limited but, aside from some specific circumstances like THM being able to heal while BLM can't, most Jobs just flat out outclass their classes.Awesome, I assumed it would need to be leveled independently.

All abilities have their use at level 50, you will use some more than others, but no skill gets replaced but newer skills, all are part of the gameplay all the way to level 50.
So you don't care about the story, I guess that's cool, or whatever.
there won't be any lines showing little babies where to go. The Journal already show you the quests maps. Only the PS3 needs a little work to do with how the map is displayed, but nothing else.
There will be 8 Classes and 9 Jobs at launch. Also 8 crafting classes and 3 gathering classes. Plenty of them. However more Jobs will be added within a year or so, Yoshida won't wait for an expansion to add new Jobs.
Cut scenes are skippable actually. You just have to push buttons a few times, to bring up the option.
Of course, for me... I prefer being on the job just because I love how the AF looks for most of them.![]()
Marauder has two of the same skills and one of them is around level 20ish you have to use another skill lv 4 i think to stack it. Some of them are useless needs to be looked the damage isn't that big of a difference. Story is good but there is going to be an expansion so it's not the "Real" story how are these expansion characters going to fit in with the main storyline? We saw all of the cutscenes and characters who are battling you can't have some random appear out of nowhere. If there is some left off in the story like regions or something else it could work but don't see it that way. Maps do need a improvement a line is best way to guide. Don't need to constantly look at the map in a new area that gets annoying. All of these classes and jobs are the same really most of them not a big difference. FFXI has everything distinct class wise haven't got up to the ffxi expansions but feels like Rune/Blue/Red and Geomancer/Dancer feels the same. Don't need that in this game.
With the new classes it's going to get repetitive doing the same quests/etc to level up so you'll get burned out easily. Best solution is to add a expansion since that comes with more enemies/different quests etc.
You have to wait for dialogue to finish and you can't skip all of it just skim the words.
Given how AFs don't have special stats anymore, I don't see me wearing any of the AFs at all since they are third or fourth tier within the current gear available, not mentioning raids gear and new ARR recipes, so basically if AFs don't get something special for phase 4, they will be just above normal, materia-less gear, maybe just like lv50 greens.
Oh yeah, I realize that it's pretty insignificant to have +/- 3 INT or whatever when you're a BLM with 250 INT. I'm just sort of particular about that stuff. Plus, Highlanders just seem like weird mages. You do realize that the starting racial stat differences don't scale with level and mean practically nothing at level 50 when you're sitting at almost 400 points of your primary stat, right? Don't base your racial choice on the stats. This is not the game in which to be doing that.
Those aren't cut scenes in the classic sense of the word, thats just dialogue. Cutscenes tend to be more cinematic, and those scenes are skippable, since they're often the prelude to boss battles they may have to try several times.
They are still too lengthy know with the voice acting much and it takes too long. Option to go through everything completely would be nice and you can view the cutscenes/dialogue story later in options.

Sigh, it does depress me that they took away some of the special stats on AF gear.At the very least, I'd use them for town/screenshot gear. And I suspect they will be decent when just starting at level 50 (before getting to the harder raids and dungeons).
Bard only loses Internal Release since it's other class is Lancer for Blood for Blood and it gets Raging Strikes (and Straight Shot) by itself. I didn't really ask anyone to check but I imagine Bard has better DEX, too, just like the rest of the Jobs have universally better stats than their classes in ARR.I think under the current system, and excluding Arcanist since we don't have much information about it, only 2 classes are worth playing at level 50: Thaumaturge and Archer.
The reasons being, as an Archer you are a pure ranged dps and will be able to equip buff skills from all the classes, but if you equip the Bard stone, your cross-class skills will be reduced to CNJ (and something else I don't remember right now), thus you lose many attack buffs, also songs will lower your dmg output.[....]
Why the fuck are we still seeing MMOs that don't have a fucking style system? DCUO has the best style system of any MMO I have played, period. THe next best maybe being SWTOR, but it's held back by shitty locked mods.Sigh, it does depress me that they took away some of the special stats on AF gear.At the very least, I'd use them for town/screenshot gear.
