The media era, the era of facebook, twitter, tumble, reddit, etc.

People have a media now that's instant to bitch and complain.
We had forums in 2004 and I think blogs were getting their start. As big as those have been I think it's more that the more things change the more they stay the same and that our memories can be very short term for things like this: WoW problems are essentially a healed over old wound even for those that went through it.

Though the passage of time does grant unrealistic expectations for problem solving.

Leveling leatherworking is easy thanks to what I believe is a bugged quest that gives too much reward exp. The lv15 tradecraft levequest to turn in 3 aldgoat leathers gives you a woopin' 6k+ exp, whereas the lv20 variant that requires 5 leathers gives only 5k. All you need is 9 HQ aldgoat leathers for nearly 60k leatherworker exp every 12 hours. It's piss easy.

Finally got in this morning and spent a few hours
going on my first airship adventures to rally the troops!
Very cool FF feel to that part.
Then after talking to the General from Ul'Dah getting the first real taste of some villain characterization was awesome!
Even more FF feel. I was on a high and the server hadn't kicked me off yet - so I decided to dive into the first two dungeons/instances/raids/duties... not sure what to call them. All I can say is - WOW - I am playing CNJ and I had a blast. Two successful yet challenging runs and I am convinced that once the server problems let me play more consistently that this is the best MMO I have played. Combining my nostalgic love of Final Fantasy with crisp, clean and beautiful MMO mechanics - totally hooked.

Is this good or bad?

I hope they adjust the difficulty of the game that's my only beef

AutoHotKey with a script I found on Reddit.

Click link to my post here;

You can disregard the stopping part, it will still get you in even if it keeps cancelling the queue.
_______

Seems the goldsellers are having no problems getting into the game. :(

You are my hero. Thank you. Took 20 minutes but I'm in. You are a champion.

Wow, best Duty run ever - got 3 pieces of tanking greens and a pink axe, kill Aiatar Dragon which is one of the best boss fights I've ever tanked, and got a sick ass 90000 error just in time for lunch!

This game is the best.

lol It's being so wonky right now. I got a world full error before it even loaded the NA/EU world list. Then it kind of flipped out and still tried loading the list.

  • Launcher errors "webpage wont load"
  • NA/EU World list errors "close and relaunch again huehue"
  • 1017 "want a queue? too bad"
  • 1017 before loading the world list
  • 2002 "cause lobby is small too"
  • 3102 "you are still inside lawl"
  • 90000 "you moved to a congested area"

Anything else i'm missing? That has been today in the last 20 mins for me.

Can't manage for sh!t
It's the 80/20 principle. If they would just expend 20% of the effort and kick people that are AFK 80% of the problem would be solved. Instead by adding more servers they are expending 80% of the effort and are only going to get a 20% improvement. Adding more servers is not the solution. People don't want to move to different servers they want to play on the server that their friends are on. And if those people can't log on or can't even create a character on the server their friends are on then they haven't solved anything. Furthermore the number of people trying to play all at the same time is only going to taper off. If they add to many servers they'll end up ghost towns and that's just a waste of money.

Now even my launcher is having issues starting. Probably because it's failing whatever it calls home to do before starting up. It's not constant, but flakey.

10102, connection has been lost, after 10 seconds on the loading screen, queue or no queue, :-(

Yup.

Instead of more servers, they need to implement AFK boot timers and increase the capacity of the existing servers ASAP.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Adding servers does not mean just adding new worlds, but adding to the currently existing server infrastructure. Players generally refer to their world/realm/etc. as a server but when they're adding servers thats not all that they mean by that.

I have to laugh a little when I play SCH in this because it's basically what PUP was with a WHM automaton in FFXI but no one ever wanted it.

They're a lot friendlier to pets regarding AoE, damage, and general abilities in this game, I can put Selene by the boss as she will basically take care of herself and spam healing with no mp cost. Eos does even more healing if I really need it. In FF11 this pet would have had x5 the recast time on a basic Cure, an MP bar, and died to boss AoE before the 3 min mark.

That's why despite my desire for SE to fix the pet command quirks, I can't help but applaud them for the clear progress they made from 11.

I did my first dungeons today! Blitzed through Sastasha like it was nothing. Tam-Tara was harder; came very close to a wipe a couple of times. (Party wasn't as good, myself included.) Was hoping to try and tackle Copperbell too, but curiously enough the only thing I found in the mine was a large placard with the number "90000" on it. Looks like I'll be sitting at the login screen for the rest of the day.

I don't really know why I'm playing a healer given how easily I get stressed out doing group content. But it's all good. I need to get over myself and this is how it's gonna happen. :)

Welp, guess I shouldn't have thought "I'm sure SE will have this a bit better sorted by tomorrow, I'll log out so I don't keep people out."

All aboard the always-logged-in train.
